![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Look, just hold completely still until the lights come back on--
[and as though on cue, the darkness fades along with the hissing noises. light streams back into the carriage, and the ferris wheel begins to move again]

...
That wasn't weird, right?
no subject
That was very weird. Please don't tell me it's normal for this place.
no subject
But— [ He said "this place"??? ] Are you new?!
[ The idea of it seems so unreal, she looks pretty pale now just from the shock. ]
no subject
Just got here today. Why? S'that weird? You look pretty surprised about it.
no subject
They say people usually come in every two weeks, but we haven't had new people for a month now. I was part of the last batch that was recoded.
no subject
"Recorded" is an interesting way to put it. [but he supposes it's accurate]
So you've been here a month, and you've never been to this creepy amusement park?
[creepy seemed like an understatement after what just happened]
no subject
I usually just hang out with my coworkers and friends in cafes and stuff. But today's special! I mean, who wouldn't want to go to an amusement park, right?
no subject
[especially if some of them are still reeling from the whole 'YOUR WORLD WAS DESTROYED' news]
But you don't think there was something off about what just happened?
[which might mean that there's something off about the entire park?]
no subject
[ She's probably letting this go a little too casually, but a month is still a long time to be stuck in this place. She's pretty much settled down already. ]
no subject
The whole system is that unstable? D'you know if this-- uh. CERES. Are they trying to stabilize it so the glitches stop occurring?
no subject
[ It really is concerning. ] But there was this girl the other day who told us that the CEO has more important stuff to take care of. That's why we just have to be patient with him if we want to win against the Flamines.
no subject
Did she say what kinda important stuff the CEO had to take care of?
no subject
[ A beat. ] She disappeared all of a sudden.
no subject
[pauses for a thoughtful moment]
Did you catch her name?
no subject
no subject
Got it, thanks. They didn't include that in the powerpoint presentation.
no subject
There's a lot of stuff they didn't say, like the terrorists, for one.
