![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

it does earn a bit of a curious gaze, though. there's so much about this conversation that edges in familiarity, that rings true for him—it's a very rare thing, and it leaves him somewhere between commiseration and discomfort. of course, he doesn't let any of that show in his expression despite the curiosity, which stems more from their direct course of conversation than anything else.] I won't argue that it's like being imprisoned. They make it look pretty nice and give us a lot of things, but it doesn't matter much when the ones taking charge say "you're staying here, and that's out decision." Captivity is still captivity, after all.
[it's something souji is thoroughly unamused by, and has been for about a year now—first with haven, and now with cerealia. his loathing of large, modern corporations holding people from different worlds and times hostage is pretty real.] But who knows? You may find those people you're looking for if you can pull yourself together. Things are pretty busy here these days to the point that it's hard to keep track of. [meaning that he's not going to directly offer to help. he will help, but he's not verbally offering because that's just not his style.]

One hand closes briefly into a hard fist, however. It's bad enough to still have the prospect of being slowly imprisoned in one's own body praying on your mind, without having to be kept captive in a more literal sense until that time comes about.] I don't really care for either prettiness or gifts that much, no... especially when they come at the price of my home and my freedom.
[Thankfully, he is good at reading between the lines, and good at understanding why someone would prefer not to outright offer such a thing - especially if you'd prefer to keep your motives to yourself.] Thank you. [It could just be thanks for the support he's been given, even as he seems able to straighten out properly and breathe easier, or perhaps just for the encouraging words.] You're right, of course. There is no point simply accepting the situation - my friends certainly wouldn't. If they have come here, they'll be looking. [He grimaces slightly, a strangely childish gesture, followed by a similarly juvenile little laugh.] Though in Yamazaki-san's case, probably just to feed me health food and lecture me about walking around outside.

That's usually how it happens... we arrive at different times and find one another later, if our comrades are here with us. [it's a pretty simple truth. and usually when unfamiliar faces start to filter in, he goes on pretty high alert for people who either have never been here, or were here before and went missing. it's a force of habit now, one he doesn't even think twice about it when it happens.
which can't be said for hearing the name "yamazaki," which does further spark souji's curiosity. he's not jumping to any conclusions, of course, since there are plenty of people with that name in japan. still... it's hard not to take notice, when there are other similar circumstances at play.] There's someone like that, hm? They must be a hassle if they'd go that far.

That's good to know. To tell the truth, I haven't been on my own like this since I was nine, you know? It's a little bit scary.
[And that's probably not something he would admit to just any stranger, but somehow it's okay because he's fairly certain by now that he won't be pitied or fussed over. That makes it easier to speak freely.
He smiles a bit ruefully, shaking his head slightly.] And, well, since he's the doctor meant to look after the men now, that's kind of his job. I don't like going against him much, because it might make people worry, but... I'm not the kind of person who can just sit around in bed all day, that's all.
