![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! Worry not! |
touka kirishima.
mercury
[Nnnnnhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... The urge to drag her hands down her face in exasperation is strong. So strong. She should have punched him without saying anything.]
Yeah, right. And I'm supposed to believe that? [He should just admit he's gross, okay.]
no subject
Yes?
[ Now, he's legitimately asking her!! ] We don't have these things where I come from.
no subject
[Dryly....... Like she's not sure if she should believe it or not?? What kind of world is that????????]
no subject
[ Pockets both his hands now. He's so innocent. ]
I bet you come from a world without Dust.
[ Mercury??? Maybe something that doesn't sound like something that's EVERYWHERE next time? ]
no subject
...What kind of idiot do you take me for, huh?
no subject
Wait, so you come from a world with Dust? Don't tell me you're studying to become a Hunter.
no subject
Look, this— [SWIPING HER FINGER OVER THE NEAREST GAUDY ORNAMENT, and jabbing it at his face. Look. There's a teeny, tiny bit of dust on it.] This is dust. Every world has dust, you numskull.

hiro
[Maybe one day he'll figure out how to invent something that will translate the language of the wild tsundere... But that day ain't today. So he's kind of out of luck.]
Yeah, lucky us. [Yeah, no. SARCASm. Screw CERES. She makes the most vague hand gesture towards... the talking, squishy thing.] I don't suppose your friend knows how to fix a sleeve, does it?
[Assuming a big nope. A needle would probably pop that thing like a balloon.]
hide
[HIDE... No... She's not equipped to be his friendly neighborhood, ghoul babysitter for this evening. That's Kaneki's job??? Oh, man. His reaction throws her off so much, because she didn't expect him to be this whiny over it.]
H-Haa...? [How much has he been eating, that the vendors are cutting him off?!] Nagachika-san, how much food have you bought?
[Is he going to burn a hole in her hard-earned cash...]
no subject
I've only had ten hot dogs, two pizzas, five ice cream cones, and three cotton candies.
[He looks at her as if this is perfectly normal behavior.]
You have to help me Touka-chan.
no subject
You're serious. [She's so gobsmacked. Like, HOW.] If you've had that much, shouldn't that be enough? You must be stuffed by now.
no subject
It's not enough. [His tone is very firm, followed by a loud growl from his stomach to underscore his point.]
no subject
This is weird.]
...I'll buy you a hot dog and [uh] a drink, but you're paying me back. Even if you get sick, I expect every last credit back.
[Please let this be enough............]
no subject
Whether the hug is a success or failure, he's going to latch onto one of her arms and begin tugging her towards one of the vendor carts. About half way there he's hit with a strong smell. Blood.
While they happen to be only a few feet away from the roller coaster, where bruised and bleeding people are quickly making their exits, the smell wouldn't have usually been able to bother him.
He comes to sudden halt, his face scrunching up.]
Ugh. Do you smell that?
no subject
That said, the scent of blood hits her hard as soon as they're near the roller coaster, but she's sure it shouldn't be that strong a scent to a human. This is exactly why she's a teeny bit surprised when he looks so bothered by it.]
...Smell what, exactly? [Haha... No heightened senses over here. But she does throw a wary glance at the people exiting the roller coaster. She may or may not have already gotten on there, so that "wary glance" may actually be more of a glare.] Do you smell something odd, Nagachika-san?
THAT ESCALATED SO QUICKLY
SO VERY QUICKLY
(no subject)
kaneki
[His instincts, of course, are completely spot-on. Not only is she surprised, but she's completely and utterly confused. Aogiri? Teaming up with Tsukiyama? A raid on someone's lab? It's all nonsense to her. He might as well have been speaking gibberish, for what it's worth. He probably won't even have to turn and see the expression on her face to know what she's thinking, because she falters in her step for a moment as soon as she finishes hearing him.]
...What? [She's thrown off. No—beyond thrown off, and her steps get a little quicker. She sticks a little closer to him because she's not sure if she heard that right, or if this is some stupid elaborate joke.] What the hell are you going on about...? Acting like I should know all of this? Of course I don't remember anything about that!
[Because it didn't happen. Strange events like that couldn't have happened, if she didn't remember them... Right? Well, no. She knows that isn't true. She's been here long enough to know that, but that doesn't mean she has to accept it.]
no subject
Once they're out, Kaneki turns to face her with a bit of sadness in his eyes that he's unable to hide from showing as he regards her. ]
I'm... not sure why it is that you don't remember, but... all of that happened after Banjou came to Anteiku that day. There's more to it but... I can try and explain it all when we're not in this park if you'd like.
[ Part of him half expects her to get mad at him or something, his mind piecing together from what she said into what she must remember last. Mainly that since she mentioned Banjou or didn't even remotely remember anything he said, it must have been around the time the man came to the shop looking for Rize, but before Ayato and Yamori came and everything changed for him.
He still remembers that day, too. Making quite an impression in managing to knock out Banjou with such little, unintentional effort which had really made him surprised back then. Now, the man and him had become acquaintances since then and a world of events had occurred inbetween then and now that seemed so long ago. ]
no subject
Her hands are balled into fists at her side, and it's not easy to miss the way she clenches her jaw for a moment. This is stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid and annoying as all hell. If she weren't trying so hard to keep her cool, she would have punched him in the face already. The urge is pretty strong, honestly.]
Idiot. [All but hissing that word out. He doesn't get to talk to her like that, not even if he's like this.] Once we're out of this park, you're telling me everything you know. And don't you dare leave anything out, you dumbass.
no subject
She was trying so hard, wasn't she?
A part of him wonders that if he was better at faking happy smiles and been able to act like the 'old' him when he met with her again, if she would have been less irritated and mad at him. He's ridiculously broken and distanced from everyone he knew; a bad decision on his part but at the time he really figured that was the best for everyone even if now it seemed more of a selfish decision that hurt him and the others around him in the process. ]
Understood. [ A pause lingers and there's something almost like exhaustion that shows on his face afterward. ] I know if I even remotely tried to lie or leave even the smallest thing out, you'd probably hit me.
[ A memory flashes across his mind and it brings a faint, but almost genuine smile as his expression seems to soften. This was definitely why she'd hit him that last time back home, her words back then ringing through his head firmly. Perhaps maybe... he could try and fix things, somehow. ]
...ah... perhaps I really am an idiot for thinking that way, before. It's... not just my world but... ours that this is about.
no subject
Haa... [Who even says understood these days? What is she, his drill sergeant? She keeps the commentary to herself, though, and opts to cross her arms and scoff.] Damn right I am. I'll beat the hell out of you, got it?
[She's... pretty sure he got it. But saying this sort of thing feels normal, and as someone who sorely needs normalcy right now, she takes it. Too bad "normal" for her involves insulting remarks.]
Right. So if you understand that much... stop screwing around.
no subject
Quietly Kaneki then nodded to show that he really did get it; her point had gotten across in it's own way loud and clear. She had a tendency to not muddle her intentions and this was likely a bit much to register all at once in such a short time plus his unusual appearance and words that left her confused after already going through the things in this park like before. ]
I won't be able to stop right away but... I will try not to.
[ Touka was entirely free to believe him or not, but he was being as sincere as he would ever be, a touch more life and energy in his eyes compared to what they'd been when he reunited with her initially. No, things would never be completely fixed but it didn't mean he wouldn't try to somewhat attempt to make things right again. ]
I'd... like us to have a talk over coffee sometime once we're out of here, Touka. You've probably spent some time here before me and can tell me more about it, but that's only if you're not busy.
[ Now all that remained was for him to try and get into the routine of how to do all of this without her hitting him but it wasn't just magically going to be the same so easily. Not without a lot of work. ]
tadashi
[She should probably keep a calendar just so she can keep track of this sort of stuff, but as she doesn't, she has to think for a second or two before giving him an answer. This is why calendars don't become obsolete once there are no exams or assignments to stress over, kids.]
I've been here for a month, give or take a week. [She... thinks........ Maybe it's better if she doesn't keep track of the days, just so she doesn't end up getting frustrated.] You'll meet others who have been here for a longer time than I have, though.
no subject
Has there been any progress? With reviving any worlds?
[he just wants to know. Again, CERES wasn't exactly forthcoming with information during the powerpoint. All he knew were the basics, and even then, he didn't know if he trusted that. They said they were trying to save everything, so now he's curious: had they? Besides those there, had they really accomplished anything?]
no subject
Like hell there has been. The last time I heard anything about getting our worlds back was when I arrived. [Which explains her reaction. Bad news for him, if he was expecting anything other than this.] I haven't heard anything about that since.
