[ He just went through one of the worst thrills in his life. Stumbling out of the roller coaster attraction, he received a free hair trim, there's several new cuts (that tv actor/modeling job he'd been given might not work out anymore) on his face, and his clothes are ruined. But, hey!!! The robots gave him a free snow cone as a consolation gift.
Gareki decided that he has had enough of the rides here. The boy will just... rest on a bench, melting snow cone in hand. There's a severe lack of amusement at this park, and it's pretty evident on his beaten up appearance.
So where is the closest medical center here?? He looks like he needs a patch up. ]

Ugh...
[ He's already at the bus stop, anxiously waiting to be taken out of this place. To whoever that may have thought about getting off the bus here, they might want to think again after taking in Gareki's beaten up appearance. In fact, he's not really going to allow it because instead of waiting for passengers to get off first, he'll just... shove his way in first. Rude.
Looking at the transit map, it seems like the next destination is the school here. ]

[ It's the next morning. His body is pretty sore from yesterday's adventure. Gareki decides that he'll visit the school again, but oh no, he's late!!! In the stereotypical fashion, he's got a piece of toast in his mouth as he's running out of the apartments. Since it's only his second day here, he's still getting used to the area as he tries to navigate through the map he was given. He's also looking through his CereVice, trying to get a feel of how the device worked. Just like everything around here, this piece of technology is really advanced. Maybe it's even better than Circus'.
He's scrolling through the job suggestions that he'd been given, trying to wrap his head around the first two. Why were these two given to him? He didn't like the attention. But rather than worry about getting attention, he should be focusing on what or who's ahead of him. He roughly bumps into the person ahead of him and accidentally drops his map and CereVice onto the floor, displaying his job suggestions for the world to see.
Or the person who's in front of him. ]

[ In the end, Gareki decided he'll just skip school today. Thinking back on a conversation he had with a certain someone, Gareki decides he'll really go through with it. He's going to visit the red light district. He'll tell Athena about his escapades later just to see what kind of reaction she'll give him.
Except there's nothing in this district that particularly interests him at the moment. Ah, except for that quaint little bookstore. Considering the place that it's located in, Gareki could guess what they would be selling, but it's better than most of the options here. He'll sneak in for now. Betting on his older appearance, he's sure whoever is working there won't kick him out immediately. ]

[ This boy seems familiar, but Yoon can't quite put his finger on it. He observes him for a few seconds, though shifts to a different thought altogether not long after. He'll think about it more on a latter time... For now, there's something more important than trying to recall a minor thought. After all, the boy before him looks like a mess.
It doesn't take a genius to know how this happened. And he's not the first one that Yoon decided to aid; he's been here for a while now, treating the injured after he found out that there's no proper medical team assigned around the park. That's why, Gareki will now be greeted with a soothing, cool towel to wipe away the blood. ]
Just hold still for a while. You wouldn't want to catch an infection.
no subject
It's unlike him to leave his guard down. But the moment he feels something cold against his face, he immediately jumps. The icy treat in his hand is tossed up, but Gareki immediately reaches to catch it.
Plop!
The snow cone lands right into the palm of his hand.... ]
T-tch...
[ Should have said the warning first before you applied aid, Yoon!! ]
no subject
[ It'll melt in his hand faster. Anyway, Yoon has no intention of stopping. He keeps cleaning away the blood until the other boy looks presentable, and the wounds noticeably feel better. Afterwards, he starts applying antiseptic that further leaves a pleasant sensation.
He's quick at this... It seems this boy is already used to doing tasks like these. It won't be a surprise if he's done this a lot in the past. ]
no subject
[ Now that it's just sitting in his hand, it's even less appealing.
He would have thought that display of surprise would cause this guy to back off a little. Yet he's still working on patching him up. Who is he anyway? He looks pretty familiar, but Gareki can't put a finger on it. Plus, he's pretty skillful at this.
Way better than Gareki's basic knowledge since whenever he takes care of his wounds, he doesn't make it the most enjoyable experience. All of that stinging alcohol applies to wounds will make his patients hate him. ]
Who are you? You're not working here as a medic, right?
[ There's an accusatory tone there. If he's suppose to be working here, he's shirking his duties by ditching all of the medical stations here. Then again, it's irresponsible to just hire one person to take care of everyone's injuries. ]
no subject
[ Yoon recognizes that suspicious tone, but he doesn't get deterred. He has nothing to do with the park, as he's technically a guest here as well. He chose to do this on his own will, so he has nothing to be ashamed of. If anything, he's doing something noble. He will never admit that, however... Saying so won't really make his image better, either way. It's not like anyone will care over a stranger doing some charity service.
So he keeps working until he's able to properly bandage and dress the taller boy's cuts and wounds. Now, it should feel the best after being treated so well. He moves back a little after he finished, but remains seated next to him as they talk. ]
And, nah, I'm just a genius pretty boy passing by.
no subject
[ Gareki gives the boy a blank look after that "self-introduction". It wasn't really one since Gareki still didn't get a name. But it seems like the boy didn't go on any rides here. Who wouldn't look as tired as he is after riding a few of them? Even better, he's not associated with the park...
He finds himself relaxing just a little. Only a little. ]
Anyway, that's an understatement... [ If his reflexes weren't as good as they were, he probably would have suffered more than he did. ]
no subject
[ That's a joke, of course. But Yoon didn't feel the need to repeat himself, he's said it out clearly. That's exactly what he is! Though, he won't tease much and will shortly give out his name... ]
It's Yoon, by the way. You?
[ He's actually been on several rides. It's just that he got lucky and was protected by kind people that were with him during those times. He eventually stopped after the third or so ride, knowing for sure that every one of them are dangerous. He tried them out of curiosity, but he got enough information after then. ]
no subject
[ You really think you're hot stuff, Yoon? Think again >:C ]
Gareki. [ He waits for Yoon to finish taking care of him. It shouldn't be too long . ] Thanks for the medical attention. I was going to take care of it myself after I... leave this place.
[ Where's the nearest exit? He's worried he'll run into a bot that'll end up pushing him into another ride. ]
no subject
[ Rude. He's totally hot stuff! Can't you see his radiating beauty! Maybe he'll offer glasses to you now, too. :v Besides, his skills were obvious just now. He surely has a great amount of knowledge when it came to medicine.
He has a feeling that Gareki is the type not to be honest. He can surely relate to that, so he won't tease him for it...
Yet.]Don't push yourself. Sit still for a while, you'll only overwhelm yourself. The crowd's still thick, so it's best to wait.
no subject
Isn't it better that way?
[ He can use other people as a shield while he's weaving through them while he heads for the exit. ]
I'm a pretty experience at slipping through crowds.
no subject
Go ahead if you want to. That is, if you want to risk the high chance of receiving a dizzying spell. The crowd is frantic because of the festive mood, it's different from the crowd through a market.
[ Yoon won't really stop him if he desperately wants to go. But he should know something... ]
If you get bulldozed by hyper children, I won't save you from being trampled around.
[ He's just saying that. Actually, if he sees a person collapse through the crowd, he'll save them... But it's not like Gareki knows that. So Yoon just scoffs at him. ]
no subject
[ But he doesn't seem to take the warning very seriously. Looks like he's struggling to stand up from his spot and is preparing to walk out now. But the first step he takes, he stumbles a little. ]
Tch.
[ Okay, so Yoon had a point. Gareki grumbles a little before he ends up parking his rear back onto the seat with a sigh. A hand reaches up to massage the sides of his head, trying to get rid of that dizzying feeling. ]
What a pain...
no subject
Ah! No, I wasn't looking where I was going either...here, let me help with that.
[And she bends down to help pick up his things, taking a glance at his job suggestions by accident.]
no subject
This isn't important.
[ It's not like he got something scandalous, but he doesn't like others peeking at his own things.
It's totally okay if he snoops though, because yeah. Double standards. What's that? ]
no subject
Before she could even react though, the items were out of her hands.]
Please excuse me for glancing at it. Are you thinking about your work choices? Oh! I don't mean to pry either.
[AND WOW GAREKI? Double standards. Das you.]
no subject
[ Since she already saw it, there's nothing left to hide. ]
Yeah, but I haven't really decided on anything yet.
[ Aside from being a student. HE'S LATE! HE'S LATE! This is like a classic shoujo scene. ]
no subject
[There, her debt is paid!]
Which are the ones you're leaning towards?
[SHE SURE HOPES HE WON'T BE LATE TOO, GOD.]
no subject
Anyway... ]
I'm pretty good with machines so a repairman wouldn't be too bad for a job, but...
[ He looks at the other two. ]
I might be up for something that's kind of left field for me. If I'm successful, I might get to live a really good life here.
[ Dream big, Gareki, and you will win big. ]
no subject
[She tilts her head and taps her chin.]
You have the right idea, because this job as been recommended for you. It means it will still be there should you change your mind. Doing something risky that succeeds will bring you great rewards.
no subject
[ Those CYbuddies are suppose to be a luxury anyway, right?
But her words did help with his decision. Even if he doesn't take the repairman job, he can still fall back on it if his acting and modeling career doesn't take off.
Plus, he's already a student. They give him an allowance just for attending classes so he won't be completely broke. ]
Hmm, I think I'll go through with it. I don't really have anything to lose.
DON'T THINK I FORGOT ABOUT THIS
To think, all of these books were so vulgar! But it was not if he could afford another job at the moment. No, he would simply have to endure until such a time where he can return home. Even if the sight of his place made him cringe. ]
... O-Oh, welcome!! [ Perking up from his position behind the counter, Ki-Ja watches as Gareki begins to sneak into the store. He'll attempt to put on his best "business" facade for the moment. ]
Is there anything I can help you with?
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT
[ Looks like his looks can fool more than one person. He hasn't been kicked out yet so that's clearly a good sign. He'll just pretend to look around and browse for a bit. But a rather devious idea came to mind. Yeah, he walked into the Red Light District, but how exactly is he suppose to prove that? Take a selfie of himself at a bookstore?
No, that sounds stupid.
Gareki quickly turns back to Ki-Ja. ]</small Actually, I'm looking to get a gift for someone. Do you have any recommendations?
WELL IT IS HERE
... Or so he thought. ]
Huh!? A gift!? [ Here, oh gosh, but why ] Well, uh, what sort of thing does your friend like?
AND I AM SO PLEASED and how did i not notice my html fail
Well... [ Actually, he didn't know what Athena really liked to read. He just knew that it's something that she did during her free time. This might be hard... ] They don't really have a preference. What's the current bestseller?
[ Can never go wrong with those... unless she's already read it. Then that would be a problem. But from what Gareki could tell, Athena didn't seem like the type who would come here and buy an erotic novel. ]
laughs at
He had gotten away this just pointing and silently checking people out from the counter when they walked in, but this was the first time since his little announcement that the dragon had actually talked face-to-face about these books.
Just... take this one step at a time. ]
W-we have a couple actually, if you were interested. [ P-pointing to the table in the middle of the store. ] Our newest ones are titled "Wicked Ties" or "Rock Hard". [ Why did it pain him to say that? ]
You mentioned this was for someone else? [ A pause. His voice lowers. ] Do they... know...? [ Y'know ]
how dare u
Yeah.
[ Gareki, you bold-faced liar. ]
They kind of helped me out when I first came here, so I wanted to return the favor and buy them something enjoyable [ hahaha ] to read.
you still love me
Not that Ki-Ja can exactly say that- he can't detour a person from buying from the store. That's bad business, isn't it? So instead he continues to grin, a little nervous at that. ]
How thoughtful of you! I am certain that, uh, person will thank you for this.
(unsure)
I'll let you surprise me. If it's a series, just give me the entire set. [ Because what if the first book ends in a cliffhanger?? You can't do that to the audience. ] Are they also available in digital?
no subject
BUT OH. OH THIS COULD BE A GOOD SALE. He's not only willing to buy one book, but possibly two or three! The dragon stiffens a little. ]
O-of course, then! [ He'll turn on his heel and move towards one of the display cases, pulling out three books that looks fairly similar to one another.
Also with the safest cover] There are things called 'Vampires' in this good. I have heard it to be a very... um, delicious?Dig.... ital- [ Wait, hold on, he knows that words. ] Ah! Digital! Yes! You are able to access it whenever you see fit, but I always prefer the actually thing...
no subject
And just look at all of the business you're getting from a single person. What are the chances of this ever happening again?? ]
Delicious...? [ Pfft. He's trying hard not to laugh. He coughs a little. ] Hmm, physical copies would be great too. I'll just buy both versions.
[ One for at home, and one for everywhere. Look at that, he's practically buying six books at once. This is actually his first big purchase that's not living expenses. Wow. ]
no subject
Y-you are going to buy both!? [ Oh gosh, oh wow. This is actually working? HOW IS THIS WORKING? ]
I... I mean, yes, of course! Wonderful! I... I can always throw in a special bag for you, since you are making so many purchases.
no subject
Thanks, I appreciate that.
[ Yeeaah, give him those accommodations and all of that junk. Ah, but he'll be walking home carrying a bag that might have the store name. That would be embarrassing. ]
Actually, just a regular plastic bag will be fine.
no subject
Are you sure? It is the least I can do for your support of our business!
[ Look, he's even going over to grab one now. Don't you just love the picture on his bag? Everything is red and silky... but just ignore the handcuffs or the box on the side with scattered objects about (I'll leave that for your own mind to wander)
HE'S PRESENTING IT TO YOU. WON'T YOU TAKE IT?? ]
no subject
[ No, why does the bag have to have such an indecent design? Why can't they just slap the name of the bookstore on it in fancy font? What's wrong with simplicity nowadays?
Gareki is so ready to reject but it's almost kind of hard to turn Ki-Ja down when he's so....
... enthusiastic?? ]
Do you have a plain bag that I can put that bag in?
[ Bag-ception. ]
no subject
Not that Ki-Ja will question, but he does give a mild look of confusion as his head turns towards the counter. ]
Well, yes, we do. [ Just... moving slowly to get that one, too. ]
Are you perhaps a bag collector? It sounds like a very useful hobby.
no subject
But it doesn't seem like Ki-Ja understands that. How and why is he working in a place like this? ]
... Something like that. [ Whatever, he'll just go with the flow. ] You can never have too many bags, I guess.
no subject
PTSD in the works. ]
I see! In that case- [ Hold on, he's going across the counter again. This time pulling out even more suggestive bags just. For. You. ]
-would you be interested in any of these? While I cannot give them for free, I can at least do a discount.
no subject
HE ASKED FOR A PLAIN BAG, KI-JA. PLAIN. This defeats the purpose of getting a second bag.
Hold on, he needs to turn around first, grip the bridge of his nose and sigh deeply. It takes a moment, but he finally regains himself and manages to come up with an appropriate action.
He just takes one of the least (???) obscene, turns it inside out and then puts his original bag of books inside of it. There, now nobody can see. ]
Alright, I'll take it like this.
no subject
Ki-Ja's logic, there it was.
And even while Gareki turned the bag inside out (thank goodness) the albino doesn't particularly mind. In fact, he's really fascinated. How unique!! Such as a bag collector should be!! ]
Of course! That total cost will be [ Insert some sort of appropriate cost here ] for all of those items.
no subject
He makes sure to double check that nothing was visible on either sides. Once he's sure that it's safe, he sighs and then hands his credit card over to Ki-Ja. ]
Here you go.
[ Charge him up and then let him leave. This purchase really took more out of him than he expected. Mentally, that is. ]
no subject
Pray that they never see each other again ]
Thank you very much!
[ He completes the order in a timely matter, handing over the paper receipt to Gareki with a professional grin. ]
I hope everything was to your liking. Please- come again soon!
