What: getting Sousei and Tenka together at the same time is always a terrible idea

[Look, it's a normal, casual Monday. Normal, casual Monday means that neither Sousei nor Tenka is expecting much to happen on this casual day. They always have a segment of time in which they are both at home, when Sousei has gotten home from work and Tenka hasn't yet left--so it's that period of time in which they're sitting as casually as ever at the low, traditional table.

Clearly, now is an excellent time for a visitor to come with dinner.

Because Tenka will never turn down food and Sousei is easily steamrolled over by Tenka--

Either way, whether Pyrrha lets them know she's coming over or not, neither of them will be ready for

[When Yoon lets Sousei know that he actually has done some research into the medical topics that Sousei's been poking into, Sousei doesn't hesitate to invite him over. Tenka, naturally, will be sticking around for this as well, since it's Tenka that it most importantly involves--

So hope you don't mind seeing the both of them watching you rather intently when you finally make it to the apartment they share, Yoon.

At least Tenka's friendlier than Sousei... at least there's that. Still, for a topic this important and a guest properly invited over, there is tea at the low table, and preparation for a lengthy discussion.]

[Hope you didn't have plans this evening, Hinata, because then your phone is buzzing with a terrible invitation from a certain Aniki who causes all sorts of trouble all the time--]

[Friday is always a good day of the week for customers, right...? Especially weird customers. Well, hopefully Saya's Friday hasn't been too much of a nightmare, because then Sousei and Tenka are wandering into the flower store together, bickering over what sounds like boxes of cookies (do you want to know? Probably not.) and overall not looking like the sorts of people who should be in flower stores.

Do you dare approach, even.... they don't look like they're even looking at the flowers yet, too distracted by their bickering.]

jaune;

[There are two men walking to dinner on a Friday night.

This is very, very heterosexual.

But it's their habit to do so and try out new places (or as new as Sousei is willing to accept), and it was a habit started when neither of them could cook. Now they have people who can cook living with them, but...it's hard to stop the habit, really. Even if they wanted to.

So they're strolling by the park, heading towards the restaurants further in the city. This might be a great time to show senpai your stuff, Jaune.

[AFTER DINNER they make their way back home, Sousei a little harried (Tenka mostly amused.). But they're not really paying that close of attention to things now that they're back on their floor, having...happily, blissfully forgotten that they're living nearby someone who is now obsessed with the art of surprise.

Really, they're just sitting ducks as they walk down the hallway, how could you resist?]

shinpachi;

[It's been A Day.

Friday night is prime partying night, but if Shinpachi makes his way to Tenka's bar that night, he'll find a Sousei who very much does not look ready to party. If anything, he looks like he's ready to Drink To Forget.

He's not that far gone, admittedly, but... he is sitting there at the bar, sake in hand as he watches Tenka serve a few of the other patrons, and he is actually drinking for once.

Clearly he needs friendship and company.]

[Sousei, why can't you be more like Kousetsu, huh? Look at him, nodding and going along with what Tenka says. That's great! That's fine!! (As if Tenka wasn't the one who taught Sousei how to have an opinion. Look at how that backfired.)

But he's just huffing now before going to throw an arm around Kousetsu's shoulders familiarly, even as he speaks to Sousei.]

Hear that? It's settled! We're heading out. Put on your shoes, fellas.

[Sadly, this really is characteristic of them.... dumb boys being dumb boys, mostly.

Sousei frowns, eyes narrowing.]

...Is there something wrong with you, or are you trying to be especially irritating tonight?

[even as he does (reluctantly) move towards his shoes.]

[ If Kousetsu is offended by that complete breech of personal space he sure isn't showing it. He's actually used to it given Souza's perchance for touch. So he simply sways a little with the action and nods silently. ]

...Tenka-san you are acting a bit strange. [ He can't help but notice that you completely ignored the question, wow. Not that Kousetsu minds, really, but you are acting mighty suspicious. Either way he won't really complain as he slides easily into his sandals. ]

...is there a specific place that you normally go to?

[What's that? "Tenka-kun, please ignore me some more?" Well sure thing, Sousei!! Only because you asked so nicely!]

We can go to that Japanese food place tonight? Since getting Sousei to eat anything else is like pulling teeth.

[So don't mind him if he's pulling you right along with him toward the front door, Kousetsu, just so that he can slip on his own sandals and throw his other arm around Sousei's shoulders.]

C'mon, it'll be fun!!

[TENKA..... HE KNOWS YOU'RE IGNORING HIM....

I see. You are trying to be especially irritating.

[He shrugs off Tenka's arm then, huffing in exasperation, even as he finishes pulling on his shoes and stalks towards the door.

Yes. [ He nods. He's really not picky in these situations? He's never really picky ever... ] That sounds...fine. If Sousei-san is alright with it.

[ Kousetsu knows you're ignoring Sousei too. Are you two fighting?! Kousetsu knows a little bit about family dynamics to know that fighting is no good. Even if he was a blade most of his life, being around Souza and Sayo when they ignored each other was never a comfortable feeling. Kousetsu follows, silently frowning a bit as he watches you two. ]

Tenka-san...why are you ignoring Sousei-san?

[ Kousetsu just comes right out and says it. He's no good with following along with these things. He's not sure this is an everyday thing so, you know, maybe they aren't fighting, fighting, but still. Ignoring one another is not a good thing! ]

[When are Tenka and Sousei not bickering to be honest.... but he doesn't seem too bothered at the question. Rather Tenka just shakes his head and laughs lightly. At the very least, he can trust Kousetsu to always be direct with him, huh? Well, there are worse qualities for their newfound friend to have.]

I'm just playing with him, Kousetsu-kun. Don't worry about it.

[Then even as they're walking along, Tenka reaches out to jab at Sousei's shoulder, giving him a grin.]

Lighten up! We'll get that really spicy stuff you like. If you keep frowning like that then you're gonna worry Kousetsu-kun even more.

[... It's kind of nice to have someone around who finds Tenka's behavior to be just as ridiculous as Sousei does--even if Kousetsu has way more patience for Tenka's nonsense than Sousei ever would.

For now, though, he just rolls his eyes in response.]

...Fine. But you will explain yourself at some point tonight.

[Stop giving in, Sousei, it never goes your way.]

[ At that reply he let's out a relieved (sort of?) sigh. Well, good, that's a good thing. Not fighting is good. ]

...I see. Playing... [ the concept of familial bonds and partnerships is all still new to him you see. So such expressions of "joking around" or "playing" are somewhat lost on the serious tachi. But he will take Tenka's word for it because they don't appear to be angry with one another.

Though at Sousei's words he looks back at Tenka and nods. He wants to know too actually, since this is apparently something out of the norm for the other? ]

[just MAKING SURE THAT THEIR HAPPY FAMILY ISN'T PUT IN JEOPARDY.

but it's worth noting that instead of heading straight for the shopping district, it would appear that tenka is steering them int he direction of the gardens.... hm.... curious, that]

[LOOK you can't pull the wool over his eyes...? He knows you too well for that. He knows this is strange. Sousei just glances at Kousetsu at that nod, nodding in response.

Fresh air is...good. Especially when surrounded by all of...this. [ He means all these cars and buildings and such. Some times the fumes made him a bit ill, so he can't really blame Tenka for that. The lack of open land was another strange sight to behold. But Sousei has a point too so he will have to agree. ]

...it would be easier to just tell us what is on your mind, Tenka-san. [ It's not like they're going to get angry, right? Well he won't. He is...rather unsure at the moment about Sousei. ]

If there is another objective to all this...I do not see why we should be angry with that fact.

[Sousei might get angry. Sousei will probably just call Tenka an idiot and smack him though. But right now Tenka is just laughing because-]

[HE DIDN'T EXPECT TO SEE SOUZA AND THATCH SO QUICKLY. Cue Tenka pretty much tackling the other two into a nearby bush.]

Sousei is dragged right into the nearby bush, and when he's finally able to lift his face from it, it's just to spit out a leaf.

[ Oh my god Tenka what are you doing? Kousetsu is just as surprised as Sousei, his expression even changes a little?! Surprised expressions on an otherwise stoic man is something to be impressed by. Good job Tenka you've unlocked Surprised!Kousetsu character model. He doesn't say anything just yet, because he just so happened to catch a glimpse of shocking pink hair before being thrown into that bush. ]

...that was Souza. [ He's kinda curious as to why his brother is here of all places, especially with an unfamiliar figure. Not that he tended to barge into Souza's personal affairs. His brother was more than capable of handling himself here. ]

[He hisses!! As he waves a hand and has no issues with being in a bush. Welcome to Tenka's tendency of being ridiculously overprotective of the people who matter to him.

And then he whispers FIERCELY as he tries to peek through the bush-]

Yeah, that's Souza-kun! With some weirdo...!!

[Oh my god. Sousei understands the situation perfectly now, but it doesn't mean he's any happier about it. Slowly, he lifts his head from the bush, and slowly, he turns to stare at Tenka.

And then he moves to punch him.

Try not to get knocked right out of the bush.]

I am not interested in spying on Souza's activities!

Tenka-san...Souza is more than capable of handling his own affairs. [ Kousetsu is side eyeing you so hard bro. He's Souza's brother and not even he would think to go spying on the other. They were still trying to accept this whole idea of freedom and this was...somewhat an unconventional way of protection he guessed. ]

We should not...discredit him and what he is capable of. As swords we are...more in tune to evils than you would think. It was our duty to slay evil before this and our ability to sense it has not dulled. Souza is still sharp, even though things here are...very different from back home. But I can understand why you are...worried for him. [ Kousetsu looks out towards where the two were spotted. ]

Souza will be fine. [ He nods in affirmation. ]

[oh my god he's being lectured so hard right now]

Yeah, yeah, so we can make sure that he'll be fine!! And then get dinner!

[OVERPROTECTIVE ANIKI INSTINCTS FLARING EVERYWHERE]

[Kousetsu has the lectures covered--Sousei thinks this is stupid, and is moving to pull himself out of the bushes and leave.

There are leaves and twigs stuck in his hair.
