[closed] everything happens too much
Who: Sousei, Tenka, and assorted Friends and Acquaintances (aka Hinata, Tsurumaru, Shinpachi, Jaune, Saya, Pyrrha, Yoon)
When: the week of 12/16
Where: various, such as flower shops and bars, because they're Adults
What: getting Sousei and Tenka together at the same time is always a terrible idea
Rating/Warning: really really dumb things
pyrrha;
[Look, it's a normal, casual Monday. Normal, casual Monday means that neither Sousei nor Tenka is expecting much to happen on this casual day. They always have a segment of time in which they are both at home, when Sousei has gotten home from work and Tenka hasn't yet left--so it's that period of time in which they're sitting as casually as ever at the low, traditional table.
Clearly, now is an excellent time for a visitor to come with dinner.
Because Tenka will never turn down food and Sousei is easily steamrolled over by Tenka--
Either way, whether Pyrrha lets them know she's coming over or not, neither of them will be ready for
~*tacos*~]
yoon;
[When Yoon lets Sousei know that he actually has done some research into the medical topics that Sousei's been poking into, Sousei doesn't hesitate to invite him over. Tenka, naturally, will be sticking around for this as well, since it's Tenka that it most importantly involves--
So hope you don't mind seeing the both of them watching you rather intently when you finally make it to the apartment they share, Yoon.
At least Tenka's friendlier than Sousei... at least there's that. Still, for a topic this important and a guest properly invited over, there is tea at the low table, and preparation for a lengthy discussion.]
hinata;
[Hope you didn't have plans this evening, Hinata, because then your phone is buzzing with a terrible invitation from a certain Aniki who causes all sorts of trouble all the time--]
hinata-kun!!!! come to dinner at my place tonight!! if you don't show up i'm going to be offended
don't be THAT guy, hinata-kun
also i dare you to flip the table in front of sousei
[ah yes. At least it's the promise of dinner...?
This can only end poorly.]
saya;
[Friday is always a good day of the week for customers, right...? Especially weird customers. Well, hopefully Saya's Friday hasn't been too much of a nightmare, because then Sousei and Tenka are wandering into the flower store together, bickering over what sounds like boxes of cookies (do you want to know? Probably not.) and overall not looking like the sorts of people who should be in flower stores.
Do you dare approach, even.... they don't look like they're even looking at the flowers yet, too distracted by their bickering.]
jaune;
[There are two men walking to dinner on a Friday night.
This is very, very heterosexual.
But it's their habit to do so and try out new places (or as new as Sousei is willing to accept), and it was a habit started when neither of them could cook. Now they have people who can cook living with them, but...it's hard to stop the habit, really. Even if they wanted to.
So they're strolling by the park, heading towards the restaurants further in the city. This might be a great time to show senpai your stuff, Jaune.
(it's probably a terrible time to show senpai your stuff.)]
tsurumaru;
[AFTER DINNER they make their way back home, Sousei a little harried (Tenka mostly amused.). But they're not really paying that close of attention to things now that they're back on their floor, having...happily, blissfully forgotten that they're living nearby someone who is now obsessed with the art of surprise.
Really, they're just sitting ducks as they walk down the hallway, how could you resist?]
shinpachi;
[It's been A Day.
Friday night is prime partying night, but if Shinpachi makes his way to Tenka's bar that night, he'll find a Sousei who very much does not look ready to party. If anything, he looks like he's ready to Drink To Forget.
He's not that far gone, admittedly, but... he is sitting there at the bar, sake in hand as he watches Tenka serve a few of the other patrons, and he is actually drinking for once.
Clearly he needs friendship and company.]

If you’re both sure—
[ BRIEF BUT UNMISTAKEABLE GLANCE SOUSEI’S WAY ]
...then I’d be happy to.
no subject
he's dragged right out of the doorway by Tenka (what a dick, using his strength like that) and then Sousei manages to straighten away from Tenka's arm, eyes narrowed at his partner.
But then he meets Pyrrha's eyes, and nods. He really doesn't mind that she's here. His earlier gatekeeper status was honestly because he was surprised to see her, and doesn't understand why she's here. That doesn't make it bad, after all.]
... It is no trouble for you to stay. It is your meal, after all.
no subject
Consider him curious as to why that is anyway!
Either way, Tenka's happily bringing the tray of mysterious food to the low table now and setting it down, plopping down right in front of it too as he grins back at the other two.]
Sousei! Can you pour some tea? I think I made some not too long ago.
no subject
Pyrrha follows the tray more than either of them, delicately peeling back the foil. It had been wrapped well enough to keep everything tight and preserved, heat nearly strangled, but now the unmistakable smell of tacos, tacos and even more tacos fills the air. The table is a bit odd to her, as indicated by Pyrrha’s struggle to sit down comfortably - but even that’s brief before she’s standing again. ]
Where do you keep your plates? I’ll get them.
no subject
[Apparently, even when he's being polite it still sounds like he is giving orders!! Amazing.
Either way, he nods to Tenka then (please don't bother their guest too much, tenka) and turns to go to the kitchen to pour tea.
He can be a polite host, really.... promise.........]
no subject
Napkins too, Sousei!
[casually telling sousei what to do before he looks back up at Pyrrha and grins.]
But he's right! You already brought food over, Pyrrha-chan. Take it easy, have a seat!
no subject
Well, she can at least call out - ]
Thanks, Captain!
[ And then, catching Tenka’s enchant, Pyrrha smiles. ]
Have you ever had tacos before?
[ Taking initiative, she picks one up. It’s seamless, but it’s mostly to show him how to hold the thing. ]
no subject
But Sousei doesn't acknowledge that statement.
Even though he will totally bring napkins.
But for now he is still making tea (and figuring out how he's going to balance three tea cups and napkins), so carry on you two, he'll be back momentarily.]
no subject
Because otherwise he'll start eating it pretty much immediately.
Then he gives Pyrrha a grin.]
Never seen it before!! Is that what it's called? A taco?
no subject
Yeah.
[ She peels back the shell, just a bit, to show him the inside: meat and melted cheese and assorted vegetables in thin, pleasing slices. They didn’t take much work but she had gathered all the ingredients herself (nothing pre-prepared here, no sir!) and Pyrrha is quite happy with how they came out. ]
They’re a good way of tricking vegetables into your diet. You can eat healthy without even realizing it.
no subject
Sousei sets the cups down one at a time, and then settles into place next to Tenka, arching an eyebrow at Pyrrha.
Ah.]
...Good. Tenka does not eat healthily near often enough.
no subject
Instead he's just going to jab at Sousei with his elbow-]
Shut up, you're not Mom or Soramaru!!
[TENKA EATS WHAT TENKA WANTS TO EAT
but he's honestly just inhaling the smell and practically drooling]
These look great though, Pyrrha-chan!! You've got a talent. Owl-kun is lucky!
no subject
Owl-kun?
no subject
He means Arc.
[Jaune. Yeah. That kid.
Owl-kun.
But now it's Sousei's turn to inspect the tacos. Hm......]
no subject
[not really
But then he's going to mirror Pyrrha and pick up the taco and!!]
.... so do I turn my head or do I turn the taco?
[????]
no subject
Demonstrating, Pyrrha tips both her head and the taco minutely. It’s a compromising gesture, graceful enough to sure nothing falls out of the shell. And - chomp. ]
There, like that.
no subject
Thank you for the meal.
[--okay, now he'll reach for one, holding it neatly and carefully. Well... it smells good and it looks like an acceptable meal as opposed to Dino Nuggets or Oreos and Salsa--
So he takes a bite.
Crunch.]
no subject
He's just going to copy that then! The crunch noise is a surprise but you know what, go big or go home. Tenka opens his mouth wide and then takes his bite.
Om nom.
And then there's a pleased noise!]
Mmmmm!!
[HE CAN TASTE THE MEAT and healthy things.]
no subject
So? What do you think?
[ Tenka seems happy, at least. But, as Pyrrha has learned, him and Sousei are like a see-saw that never moves. One side always tips down, toward stoicism framed through a frowned mouth and a furrowed brow; the other side is always up, gregarious and enthusiastic, vibrant. Her glance goes back to Sousei, trying (and failing!) to gauge his expression. ]
no subject
It is very good.
[It's only polite, but also he's honest; the food is foreign to him, but it's tasty nonetheless. Not bad, really. Maybe they should consider adding this to their diet....
If it'll get Tenka to eat his veggies--]
no subject
Yeah, yeah! It's great, Pyrrha-chan...!! And you're saying you made this?
[He says as he continues to chow down. He is now the taco master.]
no subject
Yeah, I did. They’re not difficult.
[ bite bite chew swallow ]
I can give you the recipe.
[ You, as in - whoever does the cooking, really. ]
no subject
Sure.
Fine.
They can follow a recipe (or Souza can....)]
That would be appreciated. We are attempting to adapt to other types of food, but it can be difficult at times.
[For Sousei. Tenka's a pro.]
no subject
That'd be great, Pyrrha-chan!!
Do you know how hard it is to get Sousei to try new food here that he actually likes? He's really picky. What a difficult guy.
[he says as he sits next to him at a family lunch

The good thing about tacos is that you can put whatever you want into the shell.
[ Hopefully no one ever introduces Tenka to the M&M taco— ]
