When: After this (an ongoing thread)
Where: Various (gym → the streets → the entertainment district/game center)
What: A day in the life of a would-be journalist.
Warnings: None!
a.) it's more comfortable than a barrel
- [Anyone who frequents the gym--more specifically the pool--may find a teenage girl asleep on one of the poolside chairs this fine morning, clad in her pink swimsuit with a towel draped over her like a blanket. A girl who may have gone a bit overboard with the laps, and who never seems to get enough sleep. Her hair is still damp...
Wake her up?
Even if your character doesn't, someone else will. She starts to stir to the sound of teasing laughter--and the feeling of cold pool water being splashed on her face.]
...H...Huh? [immediately, she shakes her head, wiping at her face, and--] Whoa!
[Suddenly there are people, and she's not alone like she was when she dozed off...]
(( ooc: feel free to have your character be the cuplrit behind the splashing! ))
b.) the 90s anime aesthetic
- [Later, after she realizes how soon her shift at the arcade starts, you might catch Leia booking it with a bag in hand containing her costume. If she seems a bit rushed, it's because she is; and honestly, the only thing missing is the toast in her mouth.
It's only when she nearly bowls someone over that she slows down. Stumbling after bumping into them, she struggles to regain her balance.]
S-Sorry about that! [If it's someone she knows, she may regard them with some familiarity here; otherwise:] You okay?
c.) 100 cats weren't enough
- [Leia makes it ontime, but only barely. She looks relieved anyway, though, after changing, and she takes up her post at the front of the arcade as usual. Anyone passing by will see her in a large cat costume, even if it isn't immediate obvious that it's her.]
Don't be shy! Stop on by!
[They will also be handed a flier of the hottest arcade games available, as well as new missions in ViViD and more!
Get swept in by the excitement... or blow her off. She's pretty much used to either by now.]
(( edit: fixed the link to her arcade costume, sorry 'bout that! ))

[Clearly pools are not something Pascal has access to... which is true considering she lived in a snowy wasteland. Sure her and her friends found a nice fake beach resort eventually but even then it had been way out of the way.
She kicks her feet and starts splashing the water some more.] I should totally bring more people then. I'll bring Hu and Yata maybe. I bet they'd love it! [Neither of them would love this.]
no subject
Instead, she's as optimistic as ever.]
I'm sure the staff would, too. I know it's a gym, but they should totally consider pool parties.
no subject
[A pool party at a gym sure... why not.......] We can invite everyone we know! It'd be great!
no subject
Except wow, her excitement is contagious, so she finds her eyes widening, too, getting swept up in it.]
Gosh, I'd love that! But for now, we can make it a party of two...?
[She grins. Definitely something to consider in the future.]
no subject
[She kicks the water a bit more excitedly.] Well then let's swim around and party in the water! It's a pool party, after all. And you're swimsuit is totally great so you should come show it off.
[The pink color is nice on her! And reminds her of something Cheria would maybe like. Or Sophie.]
no subject
Oh, thanks! It's brand new, so y'know... still breaking it in. [She laughs.] I like yours, too! It's... um...
[...... struggling... to find the words here...]
...unique.
no subject
Thanks! It came with me from home for some reason so... I thought I should make use of it! Maybe I'll get another one. [It might be fun to wear a different style or something.] Actually yours reminds me of something a friend of mine back home would wear.
no subject
Really? [Leia laughs a bit.] I hope I didn't steal her style.
They had a whole bunch to choose from at the store. I just thought this was the cutest!
no subject
Pascal waves her hand at her.] Nah, I didn't mean it like that. I mean like... she would totally dig it and tell you how awesome it was. She liked the color pink. [Or so she assumes from her color choices in her clothes and lipstick and such...]
You should get one for every day of the week and wow people. They'll see your changing swimsuits and think 'Wow, that's totally amazing!'
no subject
It's around then that the suggestion comes, and she turns to Pascal, looking amused.]
I don't know that I need that many, but I did see some others I might have to snag in the near future.
You should come with me... that way you can get some for yourself, too!
no subject
I'm not any good with that kind of stuff though so if we go together you can help me get something great.
no subject
[Particularly if she intends to make swimming a regular thing. Swimsuit shopping doesn't take a genius, after all... and to think, Pascal is one.]
Are you busy?
no subject
Pascal throws her hands up excitedly and kicks a lot of the water in her excitement.] Yes! I mean, no, I'm not busy but yes I'd totally want to go this afternoon.
no subject
Oh well... she doesn't seem to mind. Though the fact that they don't even know each other's names might be a bit of a red flag.]
Great! I mean, as long as you're sure.
I'm Leia, by the way. What's your name?
no subject
Totally sure! [It's a friend date!] Oh, duh. The name's Pascal! You seem pretty great so I'm glad to meet you, Leia.
no subject
Glad to meet you, too! I'm glad I decided to come swimming today.
[But, she probably won't do it so early next time...
She's fighting a yawn again and finally stretches as she nudges herself off the edge and into the pool for real.]
no subject
She hops back into the pool after her and splashes around. She's not much of a swimmer, not like Leia apparently, but she knows how to not drown so that's all that really matters.]
Whoaaa hey! You're pretty good at that!
no subject
[Leia breathes out after surfacing, chuckling at the compliment.]
Oh, thanks! [Finally realizing what she's referring to--] But, really that's nothing.
You should see some of the people jumping off that.
[She points to some diving boards atop another pool adjacent to theirs--one that's a much darker blue to indicate its depth.]
