When: After this (an ongoing thread)
Where: Various (gym → the streets → the entertainment district/game center)
What: A day in the life of a would-be journalist.
Warnings: None!
a.) it's more comfortable than a barrel
- [Anyone who frequents the gym--more specifically the pool--may find a teenage girl asleep on one of the poolside chairs this fine morning, clad in her pink swimsuit with a towel draped over her like a blanket. A girl who may have gone a bit overboard with the laps, and who never seems to get enough sleep. Her hair is still damp...
Wake her up?
Even if your character doesn't, someone else will. She starts to stir to the sound of teasing laughter--and the feeling of cold pool water being splashed on her face.]
...H...Huh? [immediately, she shakes her head, wiping at her face, and--] Whoa!
[Suddenly there are people, and she's not alone like she was when she dozed off...]
(( ooc: feel free to have your character be the cuplrit behind the splashing! ))
b.) the 90s anime aesthetic
- [Later, after she realizes how soon her shift at the arcade starts, you might catch Leia booking it with a bag in hand containing her costume. If she seems a bit rushed, it's because she is; and honestly, the only thing missing is the toast in her mouth.
It's only when she nearly bowls someone over that she slows down. Stumbling after bumping into them, she struggles to regain her balance.]
S-Sorry about that! [If it's someone she knows, she may regard them with some familiarity here; otherwise:] You okay?
c.) 100 cats weren't enough
- [Leia makes it ontime, but only barely. She looks relieved anyway, though, after changing, and she takes up her post at the front of the arcade as usual. Anyone passing by will see her in a large cat costume, even if it isn't immediate obvious that it's her.]
Don't be shy! Stop on by!
[They will also be handed a flier of the hottest arcade games available, as well as new missions in ViViD and more!
Get swept in by the excitement... or blow her off. She's pretty much used to either by now.]
(( edit: fixed the link to her arcade costume, sorry 'bout that! ))
b!
with sandwich in hand, he starts on his merry way and begins the short shift of not!patrolling. his attention to the surroundings isn't as good as it should be thanks to sandwich and thus he fails to notice someone running directly toward him. right when the first wonderful, meaty bite is about to get taken, they plow right into him. the poor sandwich falls to ground and splatters everywhere. flynn, thankfully, not only maintains his own balance but manages to help steady the other person, too.]
I'm all right. And you, miss?
[she looks fine but double checking never hurts!]
no subject
[she's about to give her token answer with a long, relieved sigh as she rights herself; only then her gaze falls to the ground and she notices the remnants of the sandwich everywhere. annnd she just looks horrified instead, gasping in disbelief. wasted food--]
Oh no, your lunch! I--
["I'm so sor--"
WAIT NO SHE ALREADY APOLOGIZED... now what does she do?!? come back sandwich...!!]
no subject
It's fine. Really. What's important is that you're uninjured.
[that smile widens a little to get the point across even more. it's okay! really! a sandwich is just a sandwich no matter how juicy and delicious it looked!]

Of course she does now once she starts to sputter away. She perks up and glances over her shoulder, noticing the girl in pink.
She lifts her hand enthusiastically to wave.] Oh! Whoopsie! Sorry about that!
no subject
In a light laugh:]
You surprised me. Guess I must have dozed off.
[She... doesn't sound surprised by this at all, implying this has happened before. Stop that, Leia.]
no subject
Pascal paddles over to the edge and pulls herself out, sitting on the concrete with her feet still in the water.] Weelll... now you know. This place sure is fun though.

c; well now i just had to
[The answer is immediate, short, and simple. He may not have even recognized her in that costume, oh..... but he really was just passing by on his way home from work, so he's got 0% interest in arcades and fliers.
Can't even say he'd be less rude if he knew it was her....]
no subject
All she can do is watch him pass with a sigh, and for a moment she doesn't really recognize him either. Unfortunately for him, though... it hits her.]
Wait. Mr. Sousei, is that you?
[And even though she's not really supposed to, she lifts up the cat's head (with some grunting and minor difficulties--) to reveal herself.
How anticlimactic.]
no subject
He does pause then, glancing back at her, and slowly arches an eyebrow.]
Rolando. This is your job?

C;
It's a bit tacky and he isn't a fan of knowing there's a human inside - but still cute.
That's all it takes to get Noiz to stop on his tracks and accept the flier he's given. One hand still lazily in his pocket, he reads the contents with a surprising amount of care, definitely interested in the prospect of an arcade.
Even as he's reading, though, he keeps giving small, surreptitious glances at the cat mascot. Well, he thinks they're surreptitious, but in all honesty he's just one second's interval short of straight up staring at her, from very close by.]
...
no subject
It's a superstitious feeling she can't explain--
But anyway, once there's a lull in the crowds passing by, she sees him and recognizes him, glancing from the flier in his hand back up to his face.]
Oh, you're still here. Did you have a question?

B
"Something weird" in this case being barrelled into as he's walking down the street. It doesn't knock him over since he's too tall for that, but he does let out a hiss of annoyance without even looking who bumped into him - it's just instinct, really.
After that he does bother to look though, and he can't help but blink for a moment when he realises it's a familiar face. Right, that girl who was way too cheerful before.. ]
Yeah. [ ... ] You should be more careful.
no subject
[Yep, it's him. She remembers, too.
She's not quite as overly cheerful this time around, and actually stumbles back to give him his personal space.]
Haha! Probably... [She laughs off the awkwardness easily enough. (She's still plenty cheerful.)] At least I didn't knock the wind out of you.
...But I'll slow down.
[why does it feel like they've had a similar conversation before]

Thanks! I'll be sure to paws my life for a bit to come visit!
[ Smack her. ]
no subject
[There's a laughter from inside the suit as she immediately moves to take off the head. Handing the fliers out has become so repetitive she hadn't even realized who it was.]
That was awful.
[But she's amused anyway.]

c!
And he was kind of hoping to go in unnoticed, perhaps sneak in, sneak out, get his geek in...
In fact, there's a moment where he doesn't recognize the girl in the cat suit...
Until he hears her voice as he grabs a flier from her and steps away from her as if caught redhanded. Dropping the flier in the meantime.]
I'm afraid I'll have to pass on this, though I appreciate your enthusiasm!
[The way it's forced -- it's almost like he was admitting he was wanting to go in and now pretending that he doesn't know this girl...]
no subject
...
Wait. She turns around to maybe offer the flier back to him--]
Oh, hey, Hubert! [Her voice brightens and she seems to perk up at the recognition. Not realizing that Hubert has already recognized her, she uses both her hands to take of the head of the costume and reveal herself.
She'll do this at any opportunity, honestly.]

b for bad ideas
You need to pay attention to where you're going.
*best ideas, fixed that for you
Y... Yeah, I know...
[Sheepish laughter won't save her here.]
Guess it wouldn't kill me to slow down some.

c!
Makoto makes a halfhearted attempt to scald his face clean of disappointment when he takes the proffered flyer in hand, but the downturned brows and blotchy inflection reveal what he can't quite bring himself to disclose. ]
Um, what games would you personally recommend?
no subject
(He can't, really...) ]
Oh! Well, ViVid's always really popular, of course, and we have a lot of fun fighting games you can play with your friends... but it really depends on your taste.
If you're looking for something less violent, you should check out our second floor!

Ordinarily he'd pass them by but he recognizes the person in the costume (he thinks.....maybe?) so he slows to give her a proper squinting once-over.]
Aren't you hot in that?
[Give him a second...]
shhh it's ok! it's perfect
She is sheepishly cheerful, though, when she responds. It's good to see him again!]

Well, of course he is. It's impossible for Nice to stay quiet for forever.]
They're really into the mascot thing here, huh?
[He turns over the fliers in his hands and stuff, and he vaguely remembers the voice, muffled as it is.]
So you got sucked into it too?
