A - ViViD: [Having a tough time with the current wave of enemies? HP getting too low?

Fear not! Because suddenly there's a giant red dragon barreling down an enemy that's getting too close for comfort, and a kid with tomato-colored hair riding the dragon is reaching down to help you up.]

I got your back!

B - Gardens: [There's a very loud yelp coming from coming from the edge of one of the many bodies of water in the gardens. Guess who decided to put their hand in the water and just narrowly avoided having his fingers chomped off?
...It may be problematic that the aquatic alien's decided to latch its tentacles around his wrist and try to drag Yuya into the water again.]

W-whoa, HELP! Someone-?!

C - School: [Somehow ended up in the costume closet of one of the acting clubs? You'll find Yuya standing in the middle of the room, looking pensive for a moment before turning to address his new company:]

Hey, can you pick an outfit for me? I can't decide which role I want to try today.

D - Gym: [You can find Yuya either hanging upside-down from one of the taller gymnastics bars, eyes closed and arms crossed over his chest in thought, OR you can find him grinning from ear to ear while jumping on one of the giant trampolines. He'll wave you over to join him before a particularly high jump that lands him in the foam pit.]

[Welp, time for magic lessons! And in the evening so that Yuya doesn't have an excuse to skip classes. He's even prepared beforehand by finishing all his homework...or at least partially finished but made to look like he's got answers down. He'll just have to look over it again later when he's back at his apartment. Right now, though? Yuya's super excited to both learn some real magic AND to finally meet Arthur face-to-face. While they've chatted over the network with videos and texts whenever Yuya's needed to ask questions and get another perspective on some home-issues, it feels better knowing he'll finally get to meet his friend in person.

So after leaving school, Yuya's booked it to the CERES gardens to their arranged meeting place. He'll be looking through his deck and humming to himself on a bench while he waits for Arthur to arrive.]

[ANOTHER FRIEND TO MEET UP WITH! With ViViD being the best option for trying out different routines thanks to the pain filter, but the real question is which game would be the best option for practicing without enemies popping up all over the place?]

Hmmm...Something easier would be good. If we have to fight, I could always summon Odd-Eyes to keep us safe. Maybe a platformer... [Mostly thinking out loud, but he does turn his attention away from the display screen to look at Inaba.] How much experience do you have with ViViD?

[WELP, THERE'S SUDDENLY A GIANT PILLOW FORT IN THE LIVING ROOM? When did they get that many pillows?
You should think fast though because our tomato protag's head is popping up from one of the openings and hurling a pillow at your face.]

In the most basic terms, yes. There are all sorts of rules for casting circles. It not only depends on the designs, but also the place you draw it, what you use to draw it with, which way you draw the lines...

[England digs around in his bag now and pulls out some chalk. it's just normal CERES brand chalk he purchased at the market]

[CERES-BRAND EVERYTHING IS THE BEST, TOTALLY LEGIT.]

Sounds like they can be pretty complicated. [Not that that's putting a damper on Yuya's enthusiasm.] Which kind will you show me first?

[he opens the packet of chalk and hands a piece to Yuya before getting a piece out for himself. then he sets the bag on the bench. he explains while doing all of this]

Today, we'll just be learning a simple energy spell, since I'm not sure how summoning would work here. I... have never summoned anything in space before. I don't know how that would affect what we do. [England never thought he'd ever be on another planet before]

[Makes sense although Yuya doesn't think it would be something to worry about considering what they've all been through. CERES could probably do some weird reality-backup stuff to fix everything anyways. But Yuya nods anyways and takes his piece.]

Well, at least it's something to get started with.

[England's not so sure he wants to be responsible for a reboot, or even a coding malfunction HE CAN'T HANDLE THAT KIND OF PRESSURE HE ALREADY HAS ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT]

All right. [hm, he looks around until he finds some concrete] Over here. [and he crouches down and starts brushing some of the rubble away so that he has a clean canvas] This will do, I think.

[BUT CUTE FLYING BUNNY CREATURES ARE TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Yuya follows after, choosing his own stretch of concrete to kneel over and clean up before giving Arthur a thumbs-up.]

Okay, found a spot! What's next?

First, you're going to draw a circle, but you have to go counter-clockwise. [he demonstrates just so, starting with the top of the circle and looping around] And you'll want to trace the same path three times.

[Yuya watches first before trying it out. He tries to follow the instructions, although the circle looks more...oval-like. Okay, maybe not that bad, but it's definitely not perfectly round.]

...Is this okay?

[ah, it's definitely not easy for people who aren't used to drawing on the sidewalk. England's been doing it for many years, and has had practice making even larger circles]

That'll do for now. If we were summoning, you'd want to get a better shape.... Now, we're going to draw a second circle inside this one. And you want to make it the same way you made the first.

I'll have to practice more, than. [BUT WORKING ON THE NEXT CIRCLE...it's still a little lopsided, but better than the first.]

Alright, got that done.

Next, we're going to draw this pattern in between the two circles... [he starts drawing the border, going slowly so that Yuya may follow. it goes all the way around. once he's done, he sets the chalk down and dusts off his hands, then leans over to make sure Yuya is drawing correctly]

[Yuya takes a moment to watch Arthur work before beginning on his own border. There's a lot of glancing back and forth to check that he's doing it right, muttering to himself something like 'if these were hippos, it'd be a piece of cake' when he's halfway done. When the pattern is done (which takes a few minutes after Arthur's finished), Yuya takes a seat on the ground and rubs his hands on his pants.]

Definitely taking pictures of yours once we're done. [To study back at his apartment.]

[oh dear, Yuya's circle looks a little messy. but England's in a good mood, so he just chuckles under his breath]

That's fine with me. The more you study, the better you'll get.

[he adds a few more flourishes in the center circle, so by the time he is done, it looks like this. England has picked one of the most basic designs... though it probably doesn't look all that basic to a beginner like Yuya]

All right, that's done. [then England is getting up to get his bag again]

[YEAH, THAT'S TOTALLY BASIC. Yuya swallows hard once Arthur finishes, and he attempts to copy it....only to have to stop after he gets the star down with a circle in the middle. From there, he's not really sure how to continue without getting himself confused and possibly messing up, so he swivels his attention back to Arthur, looking equally apologetic and slightly frustrated at once.]

Can I finish mine up after I see what yours does?

[England turns back to look at Yuya, and then his circle... and smirks lightly. he's not at all upset, despite usually being impatient when teaching. it's magic, with a willing student, and that puts him in a great mood]

Yes, that's fine.

[he comes back over to the circle and sets three white candles around the exterior, so that they form a triangle. then he places five dried leaves around the circle, and a bundle of herbs inside]

So these [as he sets out the leaves] are just bay leaves. Normally, they're used in cooking, but they have some magical properties as well. They have the power to grant wishes.

[Placing his piece of chalk down, Yuya gets up only to take a seat on the ground closer to Arthur's circle so that he can watch him work. The comment about leaves granting wishes gets a playful smile.]

If you gathered a ton, you'd definitely get your wish! Or if you ate a lot, heheh. [Okay, that's just him being silly, but now for something slightly related as he pulls out his cerevice to take pictures:]

Speaking of, did you see? Yuto's here now...although I had to play a 'Shadow Game' in ViViD for him to get here. Not exactly fun. [PUTTING IT LIGHTLY.]

Yuto... That's the person you were asking me about before, yeah? [hm, that's all the prep-work for the circle, but England stays crouched so that he can talk to yuya at eye-level] The one who you said looks like you...

Mhm! I said on the network that we're cousins to keep from getting a lot of questions. So aside from Yuzu and Yuto's friend, you're the only person who knows otherwise. [Which means it's a secret (that Arthur never agreed to but whatever).]

I ended up talking with some staff at the research center, and it seems like he couldn't come here because our code was mixed together. They told me I could play ViViD to let them try to unscramble our codes...and now he's here! [Yuya's actually pretty darn happy about that mostly because it's lifted one weight off his shoulders.] I mean, it hurt a lot, but I'm glad that he's safe.

[how did a kid get to talk to the research staff and England hadn't been able to? it's not fair!]

[Probably because it involved ViViD. CERES loves its game, right?]

Ummm...yeah. A lot, actually. [Totally not smiling and grimacing at the same time.] It might've been the whole coding thing, but it felt a lot like that burning chest pain that happened when we last dueled.

So... does that mean we all can do that? Can we all bring other people here through ViViD?

...I don't think so. [IF only. He'd have everyone from home here in a heartbeat. ] From the sound of it, our situation was weird. Like our existences are almost the same.
