A) Workplace

[After some vigorous hours of shopping your growling stomach leads you to a quaint restaurant right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the shopping district. You go inside and are immediately seated by a friendly hostess. You have but a moment to glance over the menu before a smiling blond waiter stops by your table.]

Hello. I'm Hide and I will be your waiter this afternoon. Can I start you off with something to drink?

[Your drink arrives quickly, and all is well. Unless you have the misfortune of ordering coffee. The coffee will be the most bitter and disgusting coffee you have ever tasted and no amounts of sugar or creamer can improve it much. Suffer through it? Or file a complaint?

Either way, if you make it as far as ordering your entree, Hide will have some helpful tips for choosing from so many great choices.]

The hamburgers are really good if you're looking for something you can eat quickly. The pasta dishes are also extremely tasty.

[Here he will pause for a long moment, looking indecisive, before suddenly leaning closer, right up in your personal bubble. He glances around and then puts a hand up to cover the side of his mouth.]

You didn't hear this from me, but I would stay away from all things on the seafood menu. The last guy I saw order the sushi...let's just say it didn't end well.

B) Tech & Auto Shop

[Later on Hide can be found meandering the aisles of the Tech & Auto Shop. He stares longingly at the different choices of laptops and stereo systems. He's too new to Cerealia to have had time to save up enough money for anything so fancy. But that doesn't stop him from trying to haggle with the cashier over lowering the prices by a ridiculous amount.

He also spends some time in the CYbuddy section, looking at the different options before one really catches his eye. A rabbit. Any one around might notice his goofy grin as he leans closer and begins cooing at it.]

Aww aren't you a cutie? I'm going to take you home with me one of these days. Yes I will. [Engage or back away slowly? The choice is yours!]

C) Marketplace

[Hide is clothes shopping and can be found pushing his cart up and down the men's clothing aisles in multiple (cheaply priced) shops. A few items have been thrown into his cart, such as some extremely bright colored sweatshirts and a couple pairs of pants in various colors, such as neon blue. Don't stare too long or you might go blind.

He also makes a stop in the formal wear, searching for something suitable to wear for a certain birthday party. After some long deliberation, he's settled on two choices that he just can't pick between. If you happen to be an unfortunate passerby, Hide will jump in front of you and hold out his two options.]

Which do you like better?

[Both options are pretty hideous. Do you break the news to him gently or allow him to commit horrible fashion crimes?]

D) Game Center

[Any one hanging around the ViVid section of the game center can catch Hide observing the game ads. Despite his memories of having played at least once before, he's not really sure where to start. Does he go with an action packed game or should he start with something less intense? Onlookers can notice his indecision and offer their recommendations. Otherwise, if you're standing nearby Hide will turn and direct a question towards you.]

Here we go.

[He presses the button to engage the medium level and within moments their surroundings change so quickly it feels disorienting. Hide shakes his head to clear it and takes in the new scenery.

They're standing in the middle of an underground dungeon. There are tunnels before them leading in different directions. Candles mounted along the walls are the only things casting light. Hide looks down and notices he's now dressed in chain mail and has a sword clutched in one hand.] Whoa. This is so cool.

[He glances over at Mercury, grinning.] Which direction do you want to try first?

[ This really isn't something Mercury is used to, but he's not one to show his emotions. He remains ever calm, the smile on his face unfaltering as the scenery changes. He doesn't even react to his new garb - although not much is different about it. He just seems to have an additional leather belt around his waist now, with a pouch containing a potion or two strapped to it. ]

Hoooow 'bout west?

[ It was mostly an instinctive decision on his part. He taps on the floor a couple of times with a foot, hitting the concrete with his toes. Nothing out of the ordinary with his boots. He should be able to fight if any monsters come up. ]

Think you can handle that sword?

[While Mercury is keeping his cool, Hide is having a different reaction completely. He's going up to the walls and touching them, looking amazed when the walls feel like real stone under his hand.

He's also investigating the few barrels that are sitting along the walls, looking inside them and moving them aside to peek behind them. He's played games where you can find gold and potions by breaking open the barrels, so they seem a good place to start investigating as any.]

Alright. Lead the way.

[In response to Mercury's question he grins and gives the sword a couple of practice swings.]

How hard can it be? [Which...isn't the most reassuring response.]

[ Hmm, Hide's pretty quick on his feet in investigating. That's pretty interesting. One more thing to take note of. And since Hide seems to have that part taken care off. So he starts walking west, and just shakes his head when he passes by Hide as the latter does his practice swings. ]

You seem to be doing well, I guess you wouldn't have a problem.

[ Then again, even if Hide's performance isn't great, he doesn't care. He's able to fight on his own, no big deal. ]

[Hide is a curious person by nature, so don't be too surprised if he stops to examine a portrait on the wall or lifts up a rug to check underneath. When there's treasure to be found, all potential hiding places should be explored.

He sheaths his blade with a flourish that is both surprisingly fluid and overly dramatic. Comes from hours playing around with props belonging to the drama department at his university.]

[ ... that is very amusing, Mercury just chuckles. Hide is definitely very entertaining for Mercury. ]

Me? Nah. [ He continues walking, his eyes moving from side to side. He's observant and all, but he isn't the type to stop and touch things. He just makes inferences based on what he sees. ] Just my feet and fists for me.
