![]() It's morning when the lights go out completely. Not a single one remains on except the glow of the device and whatever flashlights anyone bothered to stock up on. However, a single hologram in the Shopping District broadcasts along a billboard for a Very Important Announcement. After that, you hear a song so tender and beautiful that it must have been composed by angels at the dawn of time. "Baby, you light up my world like nobody else. The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed… " When you go outside to investigate, a friendly clown will be inside a stolen(?) ice cream truck, looking to get all your attention before he talks through the speaker on the truck.

Welcome to CEREALIA's fourth official event. For your convenience, we have compiled an OOC post explaining the event in greater detail. Feel free to ask questions there if you have anymore lingering concerns or inquiries. |

And okay, he actually has to give that some consideration. On one hand, he's a circus boy, so he feels like he should defend clowns. On the other hand, the Joker.]
Creepy clowns. Regular clowns are perfectly nice guys, but if they're prowling around at night with freaky make-up and not with the circus? They're definitely dangerous and probably insane.

I see... [Because what else does someone say to that, wow!!] ...And these are common enough where you come from for you to know this much?
[A LOOK OF VAGUE PITY... Kaoru's imagining like an entire flood of clowns, though, not just one supremely crazy one.]

Oh yeah, totally. We break out into plagues of evil clowns every few months or so and have to round them all up and send them back to the asylum. You can tell how far along they are on the Evil-o-meter by checking the color of their hair - red means there might be some hope of rehabilitation, but green means you're dealing with a complete psycho.
[ground cars 2: electric boogaloo]

Is that the case? What a bizarre system... [See it's not that weird to Kaoru though considering you can check sanity levels on people in ye olde Japan by seeing if they have white hair.]
I would hope that it isn't too much of a struggle for you, though. With luck, this attack won't be long-lived, either. It must be difficult for you to have to go through it even away from home...

What about you though? How are you holding up? [you poor delicate maiden!!]

[Because evasion is a thing that Kaoru can do to get away from creepy clowns that aren't very intelligent!! But, true to the general nature of a poor delicate maiden and all, Kaoru's brow furrows a little at that. One hand raises, fingertips resting against his chin in a gesture that seems both thoughtful and anxious.]
...It's been a little difficult, if I'm honest. Even though spotting a brawl on the street isn't entirely out of place where I come from, violence to this level isn't common at all. It's frightening...

I know there's people setting up sanctuaries. I can escort you to one and keep the clowns off your back.

Thank you for the offer, though. [A polite nod!] But I can't find shelter until I find my sister. I couldn't possibly rest easy knowing that she's still out here somewhere...
no subject
[Raising an eyebrow.] That...sounds pretty familiar. You ever considered putting a tracker on her or something? [He's mostly joking. Mostly.]

At the suggestion though, both brows rise upward in a look of mild concern. THAT'S A very good idea actually thanks friend, Kaoru will keep it in mind.]
Does it? But no, I haven't. Normally I can keep an eye on her fairly well, but there are times when she wanders away and gets herself into trouble... I wish that she would be a little more careful. [Hard Knock Life™.]
