![]() It's morning when the lights go out completely. Not a single one remains on except the glow of the device and whatever flashlights anyone bothered to stock up on. However, a single hologram in the Shopping District broadcasts along a billboard for a Very Important Announcement. After that, you hear a song so tender and beautiful that it must have been composed by angels at the dawn of time. "Baby, you light up my world like nobody else. The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed… " When you go outside to investigate, a friendly clown will be inside a stolen(?) ice cream truck, looking to get all your attention before he talks through the speaker on the truck.

Welcome to CEREALIA's fourth official event. For your convenience, we have compiled an OOC post explaining the event in greater detail. Feel free to ask questions there if you have anymore lingering concerns or inquiries. |

But if they are locals, what would they gain, as this is their home?

I'm more concerned with what I saw behind them to be honest. I can't say for sure what I saw exactly but... when I fired Crescent Rose, the light of the muzzle flare showed me... something waiting in the shadows. Like... right beyond the range of the lights.
No longer than I could see them, I'm not even sure I saw anything more than a weird shadow but... I can't shake the feeling that there's something out there, watching. Waiting. Something that isn't human.

After a quick glance at the sides of the rooftop, he takes out his organizer and notes down Ruby's observations.]
Can you describe the appearance of the shadow?
no subject
I didn't get a good enough look. All I could tell is that it was big...

[She sighs and shrugs.]

[He's musing mostly to himself right now, but Ruby can hear him loud and clear.]

Well, it would make the people that do get their lanterns taken vulnerable...

I have no idea what they're after. Could be anything really...

[He's torn between staying safe and just coordinating with the folk he knows...and venturing into that darkness armed with a saber, a lantern, and his powers.]

I'm going to have to disagree with you, Mr. Edgeworth. Humanity knows next to nothing about the Grimm in our world yet we've been surviving quite well. We don't need to know why they do what they do, just what they do.
They don't come into the light, so that's our top priority, keeping our lanterns. We can worry about the rest afterward.
no subject
Point taken, but I would prefer a more precise answer to the question of what they do.

No, I'm actually supposed to meet up with Yang around here once she's finished with her patrol. When this all started we decided we'd try and help as many people as we could.
no subject
Until then, shall I keep you company?
no subject
Well, I can't just go off and leave you stranded up here in good conscience.
no subject
Er...I could find my own way back down...
[Eventually.]
no subject
You're fine. Yang prefers rooftops anyway. She enjoys trying to stay in the air using just her weapon for as long as possible.
no subject
I'm not surprised. [Not surprised that she likes that sort of thing.]

[Edgeworth isn't looking at Ruby, but looking at the edges of the roof.]
