Kuzuryuu
A. Gardens
[If you happen to be visiting the gardens today, perhaps enjoying a nice walk, you may notice this kid sitting on one of the benches. He doesn’t really appear to be doing much of anything though...he doesn’t even have that look that people sometimes get when they’re waiting for somebody. Maybe he’s just here to enjoy the scenery? Or is he people watching, it’s kind of hard to tell. Maybe it’s both. Because he may end up glancing your way at some point if you seem to be doing something interesting.]
[Or you may run into him by the edge of one of the lakes, where he’s looking curiously into the water. What are the chances of koi fish living in a weird alien colony pond? He’s guessing the chances are not high, but who knows. Maybe he’ll be surprised.]
B. Game Center
[While Kuzuryuu and Peko tend to work at the casino on the same day, their hours don’t always perfectly line up. And that’s fine, since they’re trying not to be too attached at the hip anyway. Though sometimes it leads to the situation Kuzuryuu finds himself in now: his shift is over but Peko’s isn’t. It almost just seems rude not to wait for her when she’ll be done in a just a few hours.]
[So after he inevitably gets bored of leaning on a wall by the entrance to the downstairs casino, he decides to while away the rest of the time by playing a very rousing game of darts...alone. Because there’s nothing more fun than that, clearly. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his aim is just the tiniest bit off, though he does seem to be trying to figure out how to correct for that.]
Pekoyama
C. Cosplay café
[Whether or not your character is the type to frequent this kind of establishment, there’s no missing one Peko Pekoyama standing awkwardly a few feet away from the entrance, near the street. Normally she works inside, where she can safely assume that only a scattered few of her classmates might wander in. Not so today -- it seems that, from the tray of cutely decorated snacks in her hand, she’s there as advertisement.
Though the choice of costume really leaves something to be desired in the advertising department. People are going to get the totally wrong impression from her French maid outfit, and she’ll be quick to correct anyone who might assume that she’s working at a maid café. It’s a cosplay café. Because that somehow makes it better.
When she thinks no one’s looking, she might reach up every now and then to touch the fake black cat ears nestled between her braids, as if adjusting their position. A more careful observer might notice that she’s not fixing them -- she’s petting them. And that’s a little sad, though if she catches anyone looking, she’s quick to resume her professional demeanor.]
Would you like a free sample?
[Her cute outfit doesn’t match her expression, though. Her lips are curved downward into what seems to be a severe frown as she offers the tray to anyone who might look at her too long. Please, oh please, be a complete stranger. It’s fine to retreat, too, since that sure does look like a sword in the bag on her back. What kind of maid carries a sword...]
D. Various bookshops
[Now dressed normally(?) in her usual sailor suit uniform, Peko seems to be gravitating toward two specific areas in each bookshop she enters. In spite of the sword in the bag on her back, she doesn’t seem to be paying any attention to technical manuals or anything having to do with swords or weapons in general. Instead, she seems torn between two different sections -- one is cookbooks, the other is animals.
Either way, she seems to be giving these books a more intense stare than any piece of literature really should be given. Like seriously, what kind of loser reads an animal encyclopedia with that kind of fervor? Save Her.]
Double the Yakuza, Double the (No-)Fun
E. Gymnasium Dojo
[With Kuzuryuu’s arrival, there’ve been a few changes to Peko’s schedule, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, not too many. There just happens to be an extra person present for some of her routines. One of which is her frequent visits to the dojo to practice kendo, wearing her usual black kendo uniform. She didn’t get to being the Super High School Level without actually working for it, after all, and with Kuzuryuu here, she has even more motivation to improve.]
[And Kuzuryuu...well he just seems to be here because Peko is, because he’s certainly not training or anything. He’s just sitting on the sidelines while she practices, keeping absolutely quiet and just watching. Feel free to join him or perhaps ask Peko if she’s willing to spar, because he’s clearly not busy and that’s obviously part of the reason she’s here.]
[Or maybe you run into them a little later on while they’re taking a break at the juice bar. Peko looks a little sweaty and out of breath, but probably happier than most people have ever seen her. Someone glancing in their direction just might notice the elusive small Peko smile, or hear a weird noise that-- actually sounds like a fairly pleasant, if quiet, laugh. Who knew Peko could make those kinds of noises. Who knows what they’re talking about over there, but clearly they need to be interrupted.]
F. Wildcard
[Or, feel free to run into the two of them elsewhere. Maybe as they’re heading back to their apartments after a shift at the casino, or hanging out at the food stalls trying to figure out what to do for lunch. Quite possibly you found them just wandering aimlesssly around the shopping or entertainment districts, who really knows.]

no subject
Nonetheless, they're on pause now, so instead he arches an eyebrow at their audience.]
You were uninterested in most everything I had to say.
[Well........he's not wrong. He knows when he's being brushed off, and that's what was happening at the time. He made sure Kuzuryuu didn't get murdered by a robot, and then he moved on with his life.]
My name is Abe no Sousei.
no subject
Though Peko immediately looks more interested in this conversation than she does in fighting Sousei, her gaze flicking between the two of them before she answers Kuzuryuu's question,] Abe and I experienced one of the glitches together... He was helping me look for you.
[She clearly looks uncomfortable describing even that much of it, but she won't lie to Kuzuryuu. Instead, she glances toward Sousei as if to wordlessly ask him to explain better than she can.]
As for the nature of the glitch... that is something I can explain better another time.
[With all the people who've been stopping by to chat with them, the dojo isn't nearly private enough at the moment for that.]
no subject
...okay, later then. [He's not sure he likes that look on Peko's face. What exactly did she go through with this guy? He turns his attention back to Sousei, inclining his head a little bit.]
Sorry about that, by the way. [IT REALLY WAS JUST NOT HIS DAY but he's not going to try and make excuses.]
no subject
Even if her master is sometimes a little shit.
At least he's capable of apologies--that speaks well of him.]
Very well then. [A nod, simple and accepting. Good enough for him. It takes a lot to offend him when it comes to himself, really.]
As I am sure you have seen for yourself, the population of kidnapped people here is not so large. I was not concerned as to whether or not Pekoyama would find you.
[she's. kind of obsessed, bro.]
no subject
But she does give the two of them a rather concerned look, because hang on--]
May I ask how, exactly, you met...?
[What happened here??]
no subject
I ran into him after they brought us to that stupid theme park. After I got off the bus and had a run in with one of those damn robots.
[Pre...tend you're surprised he was threatening a robot. Just pretend, Peko.]
no subject
But nonetheless he just nods in response to that, because...it's true......]
Yes. I did not otherwise remain long. There was no need.
no subject
A run-in...
[Still not surprised about that, though she does look mildly concerned. Please have some self-preservation, bocchan, please.]
I am glad neither of you were injured, in that case.
[Though Kuzuryuu clearly hadn't escaped harm from the park in general, it's good to know that that, at least, hadn't been part of it.]
no subject
Like I'd let some stupid hugging robot get the better of me. [The roller coaster robots, on the other hand... different story.]
...incidentally though, are you the guy Kumou Tenka was looking for? He never gave me a name and the description was so general it was hard to say for sure if it was you or not but...
no subject
For the first time, there's an expression on Sousei's face other than simple, easy calm--no, his eyebrows furrow at that, along with a frown.]
...Yes. That sounds like Tenka. It was likely me he was searching for.
no subject
[To either Sousei or Tenka that would have prevented them from using their CEREvices. Peko might even look a little concerned about that possibility... after all, she does like these two losers for some reason, and doesn't want to see them hurt.]
no subject
no subject
No. Tenka is simply--
[..........]
--ridiculous. Don't concern yourselves with him. [Or the fact that the very mention of him manages to make Sousei look that exasperated.
It's a partners thing.]
no subject
[There's a quiet huff of a laugh through Peko's nose as she nods. Tenka certainly is-- ridiculous. That's definitely a good word for him.]
Then, would you like to spar?
[Unless there's something else Kuzuryuu wanted to go over with him?]
no subject
[Yeah, he's also not disagreeing over here. Tenka is...kind of ridiculous. Though apparently he has nothing to say beyond that.]
[Take it away, you two. Kuzuryuu probably won't have much to say till the spar is over. He's just gonna watch because this should be good.]
no subject
[If Kuzuryuu's willing to sit off to the side and be patient like a good little Yakuza heir, then Sousei is just fine with having a proper spar with Peko. She obviously is skilled, after all, even if he hasn't seen just how skilled for himself.
So he'll put the proper distance between them, because if nothing else, Sousei will never say no to a good match.]
no subject
She's not overly concerned with a long, drawn-out battle; this is to show off her skill, and to measure Sousei's. If she can manage to land a blow on him, she'll retreat as if resetting instead of pressing the attack; it's a spar, not a true battle, after all.]
no subject
Sousei's dedicated himself to the sword for his entire life; he knows what good sword technique looks like by now. Either way, speed is also his weapon; while he suspects he may be stronger than her by merit of having more size than her, he's still hardly the most physically strong around. But speed he most certainly has.
And so, rather than meeting her strike, he avoids it, stepping neatly back away from her blow--and then, to keep this a proper match, he steps forward quickly with a strike of his own, neatly flicking his practice sword out towards her rib cage.]
