Kuzuryuu
A. Gardens
[If you happen to be visiting the gardens today, perhaps enjoying a nice walk, you may notice this kid sitting on one of the benches. He doesn’t really appear to be doing much of anything though...he doesn’t even have that look that people sometimes get when they’re waiting for somebody. Maybe he’s just here to enjoy the scenery? Or is he people watching, it’s kind of hard to tell. Maybe it’s both. Because he may end up glancing your way at some point if you seem to be doing something interesting.]
[Or you may run into him by the edge of one of the lakes, where he’s looking curiously into the water. What are the chances of koi fish living in a weird alien colony pond? He’s guessing the chances are not high, but who knows. Maybe he’ll be surprised.]
B. Game Center
[While Kuzuryuu and Peko tend to work at the casino on the same day, their hours don’t always perfectly line up. And that’s fine, since they’re trying not to be too attached at the hip anyway. Though sometimes it leads to the situation Kuzuryuu finds himself in now: his shift is over but Peko’s isn’t. It almost just seems rude not to wait for her when she’ll be done in a just a few hours.]
[So after he inevitably gets bored of leaning on a wall by the entrance to the downstairs casino, he decides to while away the rest of the time by playing a very rousing game of darts...alone. Because there’s nothing more fun than that, clearly. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his aim is just the tiniest bit off, though he does seem to be trying to figure out how to correct for that.]
Pekoyama
C. Cosplay café
[Whether or not your character is the type to frequent this kind of establishment, there’s no missing one Peko Pekoyama standing awkwardly a few feet away from the entrance, near the street. Normally she works inside, where she can safely assume that only a scattered few of her classmates might wander in. Not so today -- it seems that, from the tray of cutely decorated snacks in her hand, she’s there as advertisement.
Though the choice of costume really leaves something to be desired in the advertising department. People are going to get the totally wrong impression from her French maid outfit, and she’ll be quick to correct anyone who might assume that she’s working at a maid café. It’s a cosplay café. Because that somehow makes it better.
When she thinks no one’s looking, she might reach up every now and then to touch the fake black cat ears nestled between her braids, as if adjusting their position. A more careful observer might notice that she’s not fixing them -- she’s petting them. And that’s a little sad, though if she catches anyone looking, she’s quick to resume her professional demeanor.]
Would you like a free sample?
[Her cute outfit doesn’t match her expression, though. Her lips are curved downward into what seems to be a severe frown as she offers the tray to anyone who might look at her too long. Please, oh please, be a complete stranger. It’s fine to retreat, too, since that sure does look like a sword in the bag on her back. What kind of maid carries a sword...]
D. Various bookshops
[Now dressed normally(?) in her usual sailor suit uniform, Peko seems to be gravitating toward two specific areas in each bookshop she enters. In spite of the sword in the bag on her back, she doesn’t seem to be paying any attention to technical manuals or anything having to do with swords or weapons in general. Instead, she seems torn between two different sections -- one is cookbooks, the other is animals.
Either way, she seems to be giving these books a more intense stare than any piece of literature really should be given. Like seriously, what kind of loser reads an animal encyclopedia with that kind of fervor? Save Her.]
Double the Yakuza, Double the (No-)Fun
E. Gymnasium Dojo
[With Kuzuryuu’s arrival, there’ve been a few changes to Peko’s schedule, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, not too many. There just happens to be an extra person present for some of her routines. One of which is her frequent visits to the dojo to practice kendo, wearing her usual black kendo uniform. She didn’t get to being the Super High School Level without actually working for it, after all, and with Kuzuryuu here, she has even more motivation to improve.]
[And Kuzuryuu...well he just seems to be here because Peko is, because he’s certainly not training or anything. He’s just sitting on the sidelines while she practices, keeping absolutely quiet and just watching. Feel free to join him or perhaps ask Peko if she’s willing to spar, because he’s clearly not busy and that’s obviously part of the reason she’s here.]
[Or maybe you run into them a little later on while they’re taking a break at the juice bar. Peko looks a little sweaty and out of breath, but probably happier than most people have ever seen her. Someone glancing in their direction just might notice the elusive small Peko smile, or hear a weird noise that-- actually sounds like a fairly pleasant, if quiet, laugh. Who knew Peko could make those kinds of noises. Who knows what they’re talking about over there, but clearly they need to be interrupted.]
F. Wildcard
[Or, feel free to run into the two of them elsewhere. Maybe as they’re heading back to their apartments after a shift at the casino, or hanging out at the food stalls trying to figure out what to do for lunch. Quite possibly you found them just wandering aimlesssly around the shopping or entertainment districts, who really knows.]

...is this something you experience difficulty with?
[He quickly gives her a cursory glance over as if he's looking for something that might immediately startle an animal.]
Techniques for calming an animal is common for any breeder, or for anyone who works honestly with beasts in any way. I have many of these skills at my disposal, both those that are well known and those that can only exist within the Tanaka Empire.
no subject
[But then there's a sudden intensity as she locks eyes with Gundam. Maybe that stare is a good indication as to why animals would be scared of her?]
But if you can keep them calm, I would just need a few minutes to touch their soft fur...
no subject
I see...
[He closes the book for now, crossing his arms carefully.]
Touching their fur...such a pure and basic desire. One most certainly worthy enough to grant, fuahahaha! I will help you, Pekoyama Peko! With my assistance, that will no longer be some far off wish, but an obtainable goal! You are hereby invited into the private space of Tanaka Gundam, where we shall conduct this event.
no subject
[Photo books abandoned on a nearby table. She's Ready!]
We'll go now.
[That sounds an awful lot like an order, but she just looks so weirdly excited. Could it be...? Her chance to pet a fluffy animal, like the Dark Devas? Or even fluffier...?!]
no subject
But oh, right now? Well, with such a commanding tone, he can't really say no can he? (No he could but he doesn't mind.)
The baby animal book is also set aside and Gundam nods, moving to lead the way.]
Do not sound so surprised. Under my careful watch, anything is possible. I shall not fail you, Pekoyama.
no subject
...Right?]
What kind of tools do you have in your space for something like this?
[AKA why do they have to wait. Show her the fluff now.]
no subject
However, if that somehow manages to fail us there are a number of treats and toys with which to placate them. I doubt it will come to that, though.
[And besides his apartment isn't that far! He found one pretty close to the entrance of the residential district so making it to places like the store and back didn't take roaming through half the district to accomplish! You'll get to see the fluff soon enough don't worry.]
no subject
[She really hopes those are some hella powerful treats and toys, because even with Gundam's skill, she can't help but be a little warily uneasy. It's hard to hope that she'll be able to pet something fluffy, alright?
So forgive her uncertainty as she falls into step beside him, doing her best not to walk faster than her usual pace in her excitement. Staying calm. She can do this.]
no subject
Luckily, even if she did walk a little faster, he certainly has a long enough stride to keep up. So it's okay Peko. You can be a little excited.]
Once we are inside the district, the apartment building will be the second on our left.
[It'll be easier if she knows where they're going, probably, with how determined her walk is.]
no subject
Understood.
[And she's maybe moving with a little more determination now that she knows where they're going. Fortunately it is close by! Though she's not going to do anything (too) weird like paw at the door waiting for him to open it or something. She'll just wait by him to unlock it and invite her in properly.]
no subject
Well actually, it might not be bad advice for the whole 'be your own person' thing. But definitely terrible for befriending/dating the young master. He's one of the last people you want to ask for that kind of thing. So yeah just stick to the animals.
But that was half the reason he told her yes. Makes things easier on the both of them and he's quick enough to let her in to the...admittedly kind of dreary looking apartment. Is this on purpose? No, it's because he hasn't really looked at the HoloGM stuff at all yet. Apparently he's satisfied with how it is.
It's a very tiny apartment too, studio sized. Reminiscent of his cottage really. There's a bed, there's a rocking chair, there's a hamster cage with a trail that runs the length of the room almost. Light is let in through the windows. Very, very simple.]
You are free to sit where you please.
[This is said as he...plops down onto the floor to work on removing those boots of his and pulling his pant legs down once they're off.]
no subject
She stays near the entryway to slip off her shoes, then just kind of... loiters there, suddenly a little nervous. It's fine to say "sit where you please" but it's another thing for her to really make herself comfortable. If she scares the Devas, after all, what hope is there for her...?
Not to mention this is the first time she's been invited somewhere alone by someone who's not Hinata or Kuzuryuu. It's a little awkward for her.]
...
[What wonderful conversationalists they are.]
no subject
It will be simple enough to perform this ritual sitting on the bed, if that is alright with you.
[You seem a little uncomfortable.]
no subject
[Though if anything, she looks even more uncomfortable?? Sitting on a boy's bed alone in his room is weird for her, okay...
But she'll just sit there with her hands in her lap and a bit of a nervously pained expression on her face. That she's trying to hide by forming her lips into a severe line, which... probably isn't helping the radiating intensity. Good luck, Gundam!]
Whenever you are ready to begin.
no subject
Alright hold on, dragging his rocking chair over to the bed itself.]
Sit here instead.
[You need to relax and calm down and maybe this will help...but after he's given the command, he's moving to unwrap his scarf, sort of herding the hams into it as he does so.]
no subject
[She doesn't question it beyond a bit of a confused look. Is this going to be better for the ritual??
But she moves easily enough, taking a seat in the chair. It's not much, but she does seem to be more comfortable there than she had been on the bed. She still looks way too intense and nervous than anyone really should have any right to be for something like this, though.]
Is this better?
[HAMS... that intensity cranks right back up again as her hands lightly clutch the fabric of her skirt. They look so soft...]
no subject
[Alright, sitting down on the bed in front of her. He pulls his legs up to cross in front of himself and sets the mass of scarf and hams in his lap, trying (and kind of failing) to encourage them to do more than peek out at the all too intense Peko. Who he is...kind of watching and realizing what might be her problem. She might even scare Maga-Z with a look like that...]
...you are not frightened of them, are you?
[Just making sure he knows what this intense look is actually for. He has an idea of what it's about, but you know the Devas are pretty terrifying!!]
no subject
[Not... exactly, anyway. She doesn't think the hamsters are going to physically hurt her, by any stretch of the imagination. She's just so painfully excited that it's translating over into a nervous what if even the Devas don't like her, coupled with her usual severe expression.]
I am just...
[Hnngh.]
By training with the sword, I have given up... many things. My menacing presence can frighten things that are small and warm... and fluffy. The young master's pet dog, the finch I had owned...
[It's a sad life for Peko Pekoyama.]
no subject
He turns his attention back to the hamsters, coaxing just San-D out onto his hand for now. She's very well behaved, surely this will go over fine. Once the little hamster is gathered onto his left hand, which is held close to his abdomen for now, he lifts his right one in front of them both with his palm up, fingers relaxed.]
Hold your hand out like this. Be sure to keep at least your hand relaxed, though if it is possible for you to relax as well that would be ideal.
no subject
["Relax" he says. Okay. She can do this. This is a form of training, after all! So much of any martial art has a focus on when to be tense, and when to relax. This is like that, in a way.
Her hand is shaking a little when she holds it up as he'd shown, her mouth open as she exhales the same way she does when she fights, visibly trying to relax. It... works, in a manner of speaking. Her body is relaxed, but her expression and general aura is even more intense than before.]
no subject
Remain still and allow her to familiarize herself with you first.
[He's speaking a lot softer than normal, gently nudging the ham in the direction of her hand and hoping she'll be okay with how...excited. Peko is. Which, so far, seems to be going well enough...she's at least sniffing Peko's fingers!]
no subject
Is this good?
[Her voice is low to match his, though those red eyes of hers are still burning with intense excitement. There's a small fluffy thing so close to her.]
no subject
[As long as San-D doesn't look up at Peko everything should be fine! But you're doing so good, just keep voluntarily still while the ham sniffs and is curious. Good, good...he knew they had nothing to worry about! Of course his Devas could handle her intensity. FUAHAHAHAHA!!!
Just a little more and soon the swordswoman will be petting all kinds of animals!!]
no subject
Her fingers twitch again, then she looks up at Gundam. See how composed and together and not-scary she is? She even manages a smile.
But it's not a smile prompted by warm feelings. It's an intense "I'm trying to smile so you'll give me the go-ahead to pet them please let me pet them" kind of smile.]
Now?
no subject
He regards her, and then San-D, before nodding just a little.]
Just use one finger and be very slow and gentle...
[Okay San-D. Be a brave little trooper here! Ignore the...slightly unnerving smile on Peko's face. She won't hurt you...]
