[ If Tadashi wanted to make better pet robots, he felt like he needed to check out who actually buys the CYbuddies.
He dedicates a couple of hours of his day to stay at the store and talk to whomever's around. Were you checking that robot dinosaur? He'll probably be interrupting you in your thoughts. ]
Did you know that birds descended from a type of dinosaurs known as theropods? [ He looks absolutely eager as he says it, too. Then he quickly realises that he was interrupting, and he immediately takes a step back. ]
Right. Sorry, you were shopping.
[ Good going, nerd. ]
b: residential district
[ Normally, he's just cooped up in his apartment, working on some tech, playing video games, reading books, or studying. But since he just finished a scanner of sorts, he decides to test this in an actual public place. It's pretty difficult to test something like it in his apartment, so he may as well go out.
Tadashi can be found seated on a bench at the local park. He has a five of these bird-like machines by his feet. No, he's not feeding them. Beside him is a tablet, a toolbox, and some other trinkets he uses for inventing. Hamada brothers rule #457 states that Hamada Brothers only show their work to the outside world when it's ready. Tadashi feels ready… so. . . you know. Hopefully these bird things work. ]
Okay, the scanners work fine. . . [ He mumbles to himself, clicking on some things on another tablet he's holding. ] Alright, guys.
Fly.
[ The birds start flapping their metal wings, and slowly take off from the ground. They circle around Tadashi for a bit before going off in various directions. They're pretty high up in the sky now, and swoop down later on when Tadashi calls for them.
Although their landing ends up glitchy. Four of them land perfectly by Tadashi's feet, but it looks like one isn't working quite well. Is that bird heading towards you? Yes. Duck? Duck! Or get by a small robot bird. Either way, its inventor is running towards the bird's supposed victim. ]
Oh man, sorry about that! They were supposed to be ready.
c: ceres game center
[ Tellus seems to be a world that's so much different from where he's from. There's a lot of things that are similar, sure, but the history sure is vastly different. Not to mention, the popular games and franchises sure are unfamiliar!
Pockyman, Last Legend, Thief's Creed, Academy Superstar Fiesta — needless to say, these titles are absolutely interesting. Tadashi holds up a case and strikes a conversation. ]
Any recommendations? I've got a console at home that's waiting to be used.
[ Sure, he could spend his nights building something, but he has a life. Sort of. Life nerding out and playing video games, yes… Definitely. ]
d: anything goes!
[ Tadashi usually spends his day at the tech and auto shop, and his afternoons at a local cafe nearby. During the evening, he'll be at his apartment… feel free to bother him; destroy his door by "accident", deliver pizza, what have you. ]

[ And not just with the extra credits. This occupation is similar enough to his back home, so there's a bit of homeyness to it. More invested in their conversation now, IV shifts to better face Tadashi. ]
So? What's your thing?
no subject
[ He laughs. It's not really something people would be interested in, but he's proud of what he does, despite that. ]
Engineering, and building robots, mostly. [ He flaps a hand dismissively. ] Nerd stuff, really.
no subject
Oh? . . . What kind of robots?

[ Last one is right, and his expression suddenly grows sombre when he realises what he just said. He really needs to stop being conscious about what he says or does that could possibly remind him of his home, but it's a pretty difficult thought to get rid of.
Awkwardly, he puts a hand on his neck and rubs the back of it with his palm. ]
But I can make other things, not just robots. I do a lot of inventing when I'm not studying.
[ IV would probably not want to hear about his other creations, though. A robot that cleans people's homes, a robot that washes the dishes, a system that switches off lights when they're not being used. THEY ARE VERY BORING. ]

IV stares, watching the sudden awkwardness in Tadashi's body language. "Healthcare companion" sounds like a broad term, and he can make several guesses as to what exactly one is, but he misses the window of timing to ask. It's not a huge loss when his thoughts are preoccupied with V again. ]
My brother's the same way. [ Although he's probably not anywhere as prolific an inventor as Tadashi, and IV pauses to consider that. ] Well, he makes things when we need them. Otherwise, he's always reading.
no subject
As awkward as it my seem, he asks: ] Is your brother here?
[ He completely understands what emotions IV might suddenly feel by asking that; he doesn't have his own brother here with him, so if the answer is a "no", then he can at least empathise. ]
no subject
Not him.
[ IV shrugs. He trusts CERES as much as the number of Flamines he's seen – zero – so he'd prefer V to remain far, far away from this place. What he relinquishes next sounds neither positive nor negative for that reason. ]
But my younger brother is.
no subject
Despite the advanced technology. That's actually the dream. ]
I hope he's doing well, then.
no subject
[ He'd better be, or IV has a bone to pick with somebody for not making that the case. Speaking of, he gestures to the cases around them. They were originally talking about games. ]
Have you decided yet?
no subject
[ He glances back at the cases and picks up a game called Last Legend XIV. ]
I leaning towards this one, though I'm still waiting on people's suggestions. I may as well just try it out myself, though. It doesn't seem like there are a lot who have played these games.
no subject
[ Between adjusting and going about other business, who has time to play all these games native to Tellus? ]
But if it's XIV, what about the ones before it?
[ That's a pretty high number. There must be others that came before it. ]
no subject
[ Just a few aisles away are a wide array of consoles, similar to PlayStations, Xboxes, and whatnot. ]
I doubt it's one long story, though. This should be something new.
no subject
So each installment is its own story . . . I suppose that makes sense. I mean, what story would span fourteen games? That'd take too long.
no subject
I'd be able to understand five or six installments, but fourteen's just insane.
no subject
[ Whatever that'd be like. IV hasn't touched enough video games to be too familiar with them.
He turns away with a wave, already heading down the aisle to resume attending to the original purpose of his visit. ]
Whether or not you choose that one, have fun with your pick.
