You were the one who asked, so I simply just gave you an answer.

[ She shrugs her shoulders, not really caring either way. Well, at least she can watch the robot get its butt kicked. ]

That wasn't an answer!

[He calls that out over his shoulder as he gets to work on beating the crap out of this robot. Hopefully it's been disabled enough by the rock to the face that it's not going to put up much of a fight.]

[dereban]

It totally was. What else am I supposed to say?

You, shit, hold on--

[He can't do the conversation and the robot thing at the same time, and he's too neck-deep in the robot thing now to pull back from it and do anything else--whether it be talk or storm off. Nah. The only possible conclusion to this is taking this thing down. So he turns his attention to that, and luckily, it's not that difficult; he can tell it might have been if he hadn't "injured" it first as well-aimed as he did, but he did, so that's not worth dwelling on. It just takes another good kick to the face . . . area . . . thing, and it finally stops moving, with an irritating droning sound.

That felt kinda good.

Finally he turns back to her, getting his breath.]

. . . Got it?

[dereban]

... Oh, you managed to do it. [ She sounds so unimpressed. ]

Is that seriously all you're gonna say?

[This goes a little bit beyond his disappointment that she's not impressed. He gives the thing one last kick for good measure, then crosses his arms, trying to come off like he's totally not even a little out of breath from beating that thing up.]

[dereban]

That's it. What, did you expect me to go, "Kyaa~ That's so amazing!" Because I've seen it done better.

[babermetrics]

[Well, that'd have been really cool, yeah, but as nice as fantasies are, he can deal with them not always becoming reality.

This is something else. He glowers at her, his posture tightening.]

You could friggin' thank me after you flagged me down for this pain in the ass and didn't lift a finger to help me out! You've gotta be kiddin' me!

[dereban]

... Oh. Right. [ She rubs the back of her head awkwardly before sighing. ]

Thanks. I really was in the pinch there.

[ Inaba's trying not to be an asshole. She did want to help, but she's not stupid. ] Are you alright, though? I was thinking about kicking it myself, but since it's made of metal I didn't really want to feel the aftereffects of that...

[He's actually at a loss for a second. She'd been such an asshole that he was expecting to get something like that thrown at him again, and had been trying to come up with retorts in advance, but when that doesn't happen--well, he's struck for a moment, his expression changing into something confused and open.]

Huh? Ah, yeah, think I'm fine . . .

[Is he fine? It hadn't occurred to him to wonder in the heat of the moment. Leon takes a mental overview of how he's feeling, particularly in the foot area . . .

Ah. Right. Ow.]

. . . It's kiiiinda like I stubbed my toe like, a dozen times? Ha ha--ow. Ouch--forget it, it's nothin', I'll be totally cool!

[ She may be an asshole, but she's not a complete dick. ]

That's good... I think, anyway. At least you came out of it mostly okay.

[His foot stings a little, and it's probably going to sting more later, but he's not about to let on too much. So weak! He laughs it off, waving his hand.]

Heh, not like I was gonna leave you there! How'd you even get that thing after you . . . are they, like, programmed to go after you when you're rude?

[He can easily imagine her being rude to that thing, or anyone else, really.]

I wasn't rude to it without reason. That thing tries to grope me every time I try to turn it on and it's a massage robot.

. . . Soooo it's programmed to go after hot girls?

[Not like he can blame it.]

Ah, I mean, not that that's cool or anythin'! If a guy's gonna get his face kicked in for that, a robot guy's no different! . . . There's massage robots? What kinda place is this?

[Well, that's a whole realm of fantasy to explore later, when he's not in the presence of one of its real life victims.]

No. It goes after guys, too.

[ She answers rather simply. That's kind of how she obtained the robot. Because she was helping a guy out. ]

Well, there's a pleasure district, so that's where this robot came from...

[That's a completely different kind of fantasy that he's not actually sure he wants to dwell on. He frowns down at the mess that used to be a massage bot. Damn, who knew?]

So, wait, you're sayin' that there's a lot o' these things? So . . . they could all be freaking out right now just like this?

[ She nods in response to his question. ]

Almost all of the electronics have been acting up recently... it's strange.

Yeah, I noticed! It ain't like I had the best morning either . . . better than you, though, I guess.

[At least he hadn't been accosted by his toaster.]

I just have bad luck.
