While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia. "Greetings and welcome to Cerealia! It's nice of you to join us at last. As you can see, we're just about to get started! Here are the instructions: ♥ Choose your subject of choice. They include things like medicine, math, CERES economics, CERES history, fun facts about Julius, engineering, and science! ♥ Choose your tutor. You can hire Astor, Hilda, or UN-Zippy ♥ They'll teach you slowly, deliberately, sensually. Then after that, they'll drill you hard and without stopping. ♥ Just when you think you've had enough, they'll quiz you all over until you're sweating and panting. ♥ For those of you who pass, you'll be welcomed well into Cerealia and be given a free voucher for a McCERES Mildly Content meal. //SCENARIOS.EXE PHASE I [ xxxx ] Once you choose your lesson and your tutor, you will be transported to a classroom where you and a few other players who decide to choose the same lesson will sit with your tutor after school, getting knowledge taught to you by someone who seems more intent on learning what's under your clothes than filling your head with knowledge. They will be awkwardly stretching, dropping pencils by 'accident' on the floor, and bending down slowly to pick them up. Certain things might be spilling out of their clothes. Awkward things. They will breathe down your neck and make sure you are well-versed in their anatomy by the end of the lesson. Fortunately, it won't last long as their bodies start to flicker erratically. PHASE II [ xxxx ] Just as things begin to escalate, the flickering will grow intense until your tutor will start to morph before your eyes. What takes their place is something that is anything but friendly. And yes, it will continue to breathe down your neck and speak in a sweet, soft, alluring voice while reaching out with its 'hands' to try and touch you. This will be your cue to run through the halls of the school while That Thing chases you in every single direction imaginable. There will be others joining you as everyone starts bolting out of their classrooms. PHASE III [ xxxx ] Feeling tired already? Well, don't stop and rest now! For those who successfully murder their own tutor, they will get their food voucher and a lovely welcome into CERES. You've officially passed! Everyone will be allowed to mingle around the game room in the CERES Research Tower before being directed into McCERES just across the street. For those who were already in the colony, you will also receive a voucher and directions to McCERES at the end of the game in case you want to go meet up with the newcomers there or just eat some artery-killing fast food. PHASE IV [ xxxx ] For those who get eaten by That Thing or don't pass their quizzes and upset their tutors, they will be forced to endure the Price of Failure. This means being sent to the gym with the other 'failures' to endure a painfully slow and erotic striptease by UN-Zippy. Once that is over, they will then be logged out and allowed to have their complimentary McCERES voucher. BONUS [ whyo'clock ] Congratulations on surviving CERESLearn! Here's your complimentary voucher for a free Mildly Content Meal at McCERES. This month's special is also the McKnight Burger. Characters are immediately invited to take a load off and enjoy some good ol' fashion fast food of questionable origin. [In a way, she's not surprised to see Shirou. After everything that'd happened, it was just impossible not to imagine him nearby. Still, relief floods her immediately as soon as she hears him, and she grips his hand back easily. If they have each other, they'll be okay no matter what, right? They have to be.

So... off they go running together?! From a freaky monster bug still, but she's not gonna let herself drag him behind just because she's been running for a while. She's beyond happy to see him, but it's still a dangerous situation.]

Do you know what's going on here? [Like... anything seriously, not a single bit of this has made sense.]

[projections]

No, I don't. [He won't even pretend he knows. ] All I can tell is the monster's strength is abnormal.

Sakura, tell me when you get tired. [Shirou's trying his best to sound calm despite everything. He can lift Sakura easily because of how much he exercises. ]

I'll carry you. [They'll have a better chance of escaping together this way.]

[springful]

It's okay, I can still run! [She sounds determined to keep running as much as possible. He might be her superhero, but she doesn't want to burden him anymore than she already does.] We have to find the exit here.

[If it's a school, then surely there has to be one... Even if nothing about this place has been like a regular school, but they had to have been put here somehow, right?!]

[projections]

[Sakura isn't really being a burden to Shirou. He picks up the pace and runs a little faster.]

I agree completely. Where's the exit anyways? [Shirou looks behind them and notices that the monster is closing in on them.]

This is bad!

[springful]

[Eleven years of thinking poorly of yourself isn't going to change quickly, okay!! Sakura picks up her pace as well, and as they run a door comes into view. She points at it, panting.]

Senpai, over there! [With the bug right behind them, they might as well try hiding or something, right? Whether he agrees or not, Sakura will be dragging him towards there.]

[viperess]

[Just as the monster begins to catch up to the two, skirting around the hall and trying to get a bite out of them, something manages to make it stop. From the ceiling a woman jumps down and hurls a nail at the monster, quickly jumping around the walls of the corridor and using the nail as an anchor to wrap her chain around the beast.

She then pulls on the chains and lifts the monster up, tossing it into the ceiling with a loud thud. There are no words spoken to the two people she just saved -- there's no need to say anything at all. As always she performs her duties to protect her Master.]

[projections]

[ Shirou follows Sakura without complaining. If he slows down for even a second they'll be in trouble. He's still keeping watch behind them and the bug's gaining speed. ]

It's coming closer!

[Or not. The next thing Shirou sees is Rider's purple figure coming in to save them. He keeps Sakura close by and holds her hand tightly as if to encourage her.]

Sakura, I'm going to help Rider fight. You find someplace safe. [Sakura can get away when they're fighting together. Shirou believes that this strategy will work with Rider.]

[springful]

[She's relieved when she sees Rider appear (although a bit confused as to her attire probably, but that's something she can think about later). In Shirou's current state, her Servant is much more powerful than the both of them. She can trust Rider to take care of the problem.

When Shirou says he wants to fight too though, that relief turns into worry.]

It's too dangerous for you! You might get in Rider's way, so we should both stay back. [Kind of blunt, but it's the truth right now.]

[viperess]

[As the two talk in the back, the monster slowly stands again from the attack. However it is still caught in Rider's chains, which she tightens around it as she approaches it on her own. One of her chained daggers is still unused and she begins to fling it at the monster. The nail doesn't gouge, but it does slash and cut at the beast's skin.

Vaguely she is aware the two are behind her. However she hopes neither approach.]

[Sakura's getting Shirou to doubt himself. It's true, Rider's fully capable of fighting on her own. Charging head first in this situation might go terribly for the both of them. He'll behave and listen to Sakura.]

Damn, she's right.

[It annoys him that he can't do much in this situation. Shirou keeps Sakura nearby and turns towards Rider. ]


Rider, I can leave you in charge of that thing. Where should we hide?

[Good Shirou doubt yourself... But no really, Sakura lets out a sigh of relief when she hears him say that and relaxes a bit, still keeping her hand in Shirou's though. Keeping him safe is as difficult as ever, so she's glad that he's listening to her for once.

She doesn't think it'll take Rider too long to deal with the monster anyways, but hiding still might be a good idea. Staying close to Shirou, she waits for Rider's reply.]

[viperess]

[Rider finishes cutting up the beast and kicks it away to the end of the hall.]

There's a staircase near where you are. Please go down there and wait between floors. I'll meet you when I'm done here.

[She speaks without turning around, before getting on the ground and beginning a fast crawl toward the monster to finish it.]

[projections]

You heard Rider.

Sakura, let's get going! [He leaves Rider behind without any hesitation. Shirou's not really thinking of anything else except Sakura's saftey. He isn't ready to see her get hurt here. That's why he decides to pick up Sakura and carry her using his arms. ]

[springful]

[nodding at Rider] Oka—Senpai?!

[Sakura was perfectly ready to just run with Shirou, so she's surprised when he suddenly picks her up. While she puts her arms around his neck so she can steady herself, she also yelps in protest.]

I-It's okay, I can still run...! [But he's probably just going to run to the staircase anyways huh...]

[viperess]

[It doesn't take long for Rider to finish the beast. However it leaves her unsatisfied. Once gone it simply vanishes away, the existence even more ephemeral than that of a Servant. Still the danger is gone and that's what matters most.

So with that she turns back around and walks to where she pointed Shirou and Sakura to.]

[projections]

[Shirou can't check if Rider beat the monster or not. It worries him a little, but there's no way Rider will lose. He's putting less thought into his actions because he's holding Sakura. Keeping her safe is the only thing that matters. A few minutes pass by. Shirou thinks Sakura's light and he didn't mind running with her all this way.

Even though he got this far with Sakura in his arms he's panicking because he wants to protect her so badly. When they arrive at the staircase he holds onto Sakura's hand tightly. Sakura can probably feel how tense he is from all of this.

He takes a deep breath and jumps down the staircase in a single leap.]

.....I'll work on my landing.

[He's positive he bruised something. Is it leave a mark? But no more importantly...]

Sakura, are you okay?

[springful]

[She grips his hand back, relieved but also...] I'm fine, but...

[Worried. Really worried. Worried to the point where her grip is probably a little painful from how tightly she's holding his hand.]

Senpai, please think about yourself next time! I'm grateful that you're protecting me, but I can run just fine. You probably hurt yourself landing just now, and I'll be even more worried if it's any worse! [The fact that she's scolding him like this while still in his arms probably dampens the effect a bit, but she's mad this time. She can carry her own weight (literally) when it comes to running, so if he ends up hurt while carrying her like this, she won't be able to forgive herself.]

[projections]

That's good. [He's not as tense anymore knowing Sakura's okay. Shirou's smiling like an idiot knowing she's fine. The moment he lets his guard down he feels Sakura gripping him tightly. What the fuck? That shit hurts. He winces for another reason entirely. Does she work out? Oh yeah, no. Sakura's part of the Archery club and that would explain where her strength is coming from and she's mad. That's not a good combination. ]

Sakura!! [Screams] Okay! Okay, I understand. [Welp.] I won't do something so reckless again. [Lies. LIES. MORE LIES.] It looks like I can't fool you with that landing. It's true, I hurt myself somewhere. Try to go easy on me.

[springful]

[Oh WHOOPS she didn't actually mean to grip his hand that hard... She lets go, a little embarrassed, but her point still stands!! As if Shirou could ever fool anyone with how reckless he is.]

As long as you understand. [Even if she knows he doesn't really...] We'll have to treat you after we get out of here, but you can put me down now. I don't think we'll have to run anymore.

[projections]

Sorry, I'll put you down. [Shirou lowers himself and puts Sakura closer to the floor. She can leave anytime she wants.] It's only a scratch, don't worry about it Sakura.

[That's another bluff. He doesn't even know how serious it might be. ]

Rider should be finished soon.

[viperess]

[And just a moment after he speaks Rider enters the stairwell and immediately notices Sakura and Shirou at the bottom of the stairs.]

That monster won't be a bother anymore. [She speaks as she walks down the stairs.] Sakura, are you unharmed?

[...And you too Shirou...why not.]

[springful]

[Don't worry, she'll answer for them both...]

Yes, we're both alright. Thank you for saving us, Rider. [Does she really have to thank her when she's her Servant anyways?? Probably not, but she'll never stop being polite okay.]

[projections]

[Shirou feels relief knowing that they're both safe. He's really grateful towards Rider. ]

Let me ask this question first: When did you change into your armor? I thought you were wearing normal clothes, Rider.

[The battle outfit bothers him more than it needs to tbh.]

[By some chance Shirou decides to not listen to Rider or Sakura's instruction. Throwing himself out there seems to be the only choice he has so he charges at the monster with lightning speed. After unleashing a loud yell he projects a sword and thrusts it towards the monsters chest. ]

Did I get it?

[He didn't. Actually, Shirou's wondering why he suddenly can't feel his arm. The monster slams him against the wall repeatedly.]

Ugh.

[He gasps out for air once. It's painful for Shirou to breathe and he lost a lot of blood. This isn't good. How will he be able to protect Sakura like this? We lost. Shirou has no idea what he did wrong and he's probably going to die of blood loss.]
