![]() ViViD's usual worlds are unfortunately down for maintenance. While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |

Because that just gets the flattest of looks, before he dismisses the part and addresses the bit about his name.]
I don't know what you mean. [But it's said rather...flatly. He knows his name is strange here, but he's going to make a point of not acknowledging any point America might make now.]
no subject
also if your intent was to throw him off or make him feel strange for asking, that is... not happening, sousei. america is... well, he's himself. ]
I mean like, is no your middle name? What kind of middle name is no? Like, imagine some dude all "yes, hello, my name is Edward No Price. Yes, no is my middle name. No, my parents weren't crazy they just really liked the word no." Which says a lot bout who that guy's fucking, y'know? Hah!
[ america, what is... wrong with you... ]
Abay is weird too but, whatever. Sousei though, Sousei makes sense. A nice normal name. Japanese, right? Too bad it's your last na-- Wait, wait. Are you Japanese? That would mean your first name is Sousei which, dude, thank god! Then just tell people you're Sousei, that's totally way more normal.
no subject
... I am Japanese, yes.
[This guy...is a total asshole.]
Abe is my family name, which I would prefer you use. [because you're a dick. Don't call him Sousei, dude.]
no subject
Cool! No probs. I'm America, by the way. [ a beat and he remembers, ] Like, the country. You know the country, right?
[ these folks not knowing nations, what even. ]
no subject
It's weird and foreign, but Japan is growing more international by the moment. He can handle a handshake.]
I am aware of it. [...] You claim to be the...country?
[Except that with this handshake, he can feel it and tell--he's never much cared for the Abe family's onmyouji heritage, but he has enough of that in him that he can tell that America isn't...human. What he is, though... he's not sure.]
no subject
Yeah, man! Physically personification of that shit! [ . . . ] Wait, you have Japan back home, right? I mean, you sound fuckin' old so I can figure you not knowing me, but ... don't you know Japan? Dude's been around for ages.
no subject
... I don't believe I know what you mean.
[His........country's personification???]
Regardless, I am not of so much importance in the government that I would have.
no subject
anyway, he gives a shake of his head at that. ]
No, it's... it's not like that. We're not hidden from the people -- Japan especially wouldn't do that shit. We're not even government, though some of us do have official titles but generally, Nations don't really choose authority since we're part of the country itself. Japan, as in the dude, is more likely to like go on walks and meet people in small villages and weird sentimental crap like that.
[ america you totally do that crap too, shut up. ]
So, Iunno, if he existed, you'd know of him. We have uh... presence, or whatever.
no subject
... I see.
[rude]
That is likely for the better, then. [Not like things are safe or sane back home.]
no subject
or something.
still, whatever. ]
Oh, what? Your world all apocalyp-ty or some shit? That's bogus, sucks for you, dude.
[ believe it or not that is actual sympathy, sousei ]
no subject
No. I don't intend to allow it to become that way, either.
[But...well it's implied that there's a chance it will be, so yeah.]
no subject
Hell yeah, hero shit. That's what it's about. You know, I don't like to brag or anythin' but I'm kiiiind of the hero back home too. It's pretty chill, yeah.
[ he just smiles and nods as if he's totally the coolest motherfucker around. it's really embarrassing. ]
no subject
It's just not his dream.]
I have no interest in being a hero.
[Just in protecting Japan.]
Congratulation on your success. [CONSIDER IT SAID...SO DRYLY...but so flatly.]
no subject
anyway, sousei does throw him off a little at that. ]
Wait, why not? Being a hero is the best. Like... the best.
[ nothing in the world is cooler ]
no subject
I don't need any glory or accolades. I've decided to defend my country, and I will.
[That is his dream, okay!!! He doesn't need anything else.]
no subject
he smiles wide, all fond and happy at sousei. ]
If I was your country, I'd be really proud of you right now.
[ you're like a SOLIDER. dedicated and patriotic and oh my god, he wishes you were his. ]
no subject
... It's a little nice to hear, something that he can admit even just to himself, to think that his country would be proud of him. Making his teacher proud had always been one of his aspirations-- to think, Japan could be too...
For a moment, he just blinks at America, admittedly startled, though his expression stays remarkably calm regardless. What...do you say to something like that?]
...Thank you. [You're not his country, no--but this is the first time Sousei has really sensed what America meant by him being a country.] Though that is also not what I work towards. [As he's sure america knows ANYWAY LESS AWKWARD TOPIC SHIFT]
If you have further questions about this place, you may contact me with them.
no subject
but still, it's nice to see something he understands here -- even if directed for another nation. he hopes very much that japan shows up one day because, well, it'd be nice. there's not enough people here with their own nations back home and he knows the idea of them helps their citizens a lot.
still, he might be... a very dense person but he can tell that sousei's feeling pretty awkward now so he's gonna cut him some slack. ]
I'll probably take you up on that offer, dude! Meanwhile, I am totes gonna get back to my burger here and ignore these super strange prizes. You should probs get back to your junk too, yeah?
[ he is giving you an out, sousei! take it! ]
no subject
Yes.
[...and....well, it's weird to think of just leaving a country without a word further, but America is not his country, and there sure are some weird things going on with the industrialization of Japan, and Sousei isn't one for big displays of respect, but...
He can at least acknowledge America for what he is.]
...It has been an honor. [An interesting one, anyway.
And then, more firmly, he turns on his heel to stride away. Bye...America...]
