Teeny Weeny String Bikini [OPEN!]

Where: Indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District
What: An indoor waterpark adventure! It's like a beach episode in the middle of the winter! Basically, Nonon wanted to go with just Ryuko but suddenly more people were invited than she intended. Now the word is out, it's not longer a private date for the two, and instead filled with friends, food and swimming!

It all started with a simple text message to Ryuko. Nonon had found a bikini she wanted to wear and heard about an indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District that is heated in the wintertime. And what she had secretly hoped to be a day out between her and her sister's best friend that she might or might not be feeling some sort of unresolved tension with, suddenly grew bigger when she was told to invite Athena. Soon more and more people were invited until it was a small crowd all planning to meet up at the waterpark.




And what a park it is!

With a giant heat lamp in roof overhead it's almost like being at the beach in summer! The change of temperature as soon as you arrive is almost staggering. The heat is a nice change of pace though from the snowstorm that had hit earlier over Christmas, making it all the better reason to rip off your clothes down to your swimsuit and enjoy a day in the water!!

There is plenty to do:

Water slides!

A wave pool!

A hidden grotto with hot tubs for secret rendezvous...

Lazy river!

Deliciously fruity cocktails from the swim-up bar that are known to be deceptively alcoholic...

Some local jerk has even brought food for people to eat, or you can eat at the snack bar!

Sunbathing!

Chicken fights!

And of course, swimming with friends!

Just be careful around the little robotic crabs that move around, as the self-cleaning systems. There's rumors that if they were all to come together in one place they might form into a giant dangerous crab robot that would need to be battled, in some kind of... Crab Battle. So don't do that.

The park closes at 9:00pm, and the sun slowly turns off with sundown, so enjoy a romantic evening lit by underwater lights.

A - Swimming

[What is that deathly pale creature stalking around the edge of the pool--! ... Oh, it's just Simon Blackquill.

To the surprise of no one, he's as allergic to colour as ever, wearing black board shorts. More notably, there's large array of bruising down his back. When questioned, he'll just shrug it off as a 'work injury'. Which isn't necessarily untrue, he's just omitting details.

Like being attacked by a Nazi vampire. Details.

It's not a fresh injury, so it won't impede his ability to swim too much, although when he gets into the pool to start swimming laps, it's a little more gingerly than usual.]

B - Hidden Grotto

[When he's had enough of being surrounded by excitable teenagers, he goes off to the grotto to claim one of the hot tubs. You can find him relaxing with his arms resting on the edge of the tub... and soon he doesn't seem to be moving at all, even when approached. Maybe he's fallen asleep? It's kind of hard to tell with that mane of wet hair plastered around his eyes.

Troll him? Try to wake him up? Leave him alone to nap/mope/whatever he's doing???]

C - Poolside

[...Or maybe you can find him sitting by the poolside with a drink, reading a book gifted to him entitled The Rise and Fall of the Shinsengumi. What a nerd.]

[Obligatory 'Blackquill is a boring old man so pick your own scenario' option! Pester him, drag him into shenanigans, go crazy.]

[After separating himself from Rin for a while (probably pawning her off to Lee), Archer takes a moment to get a bit of exercise. And of course, with his super sharp eyes, doesn't miss a thing.]

...get into a fight?

[Archer would be the last person to overlook anything, and yet he was one of the people Blackquill was hoping wouldn't take notice. His pride is a little dented, and having a fellow warrior notice only dents it further.]

Hmph, something like that... Though calling it a fight would be putting it rather generously.

Huh, a loss then? No, probably lopsided. I'm assuming either the other person was far beyond human limitations or impossible to kill. That's actually good for you.

[Shrugging, rippling the water a bit.]

Oh, keep that patronising tone to yourself. A loss is a loss, whatever the reasons for it.

[Archer's guess isn't wrong. But an unfair fight doesn't make it any less humiliating.]

I'm hardly patronizing. Then again, I see winning and losing in an entirely different manner. The lack of answer tells me a lot though.

Still, someone who is a foe of yours will probably something of mine in the future. Tell me about them. That way, if I ever have to come face to face, I can end it quickly.

[For Archer, knowledge is power, literally. The more he knows about someone, the better he can use his personal abilities to formulate lopsided victories.]

[He shakes his head dismissively.]

You needn't concern yourself with it. The chief of police has resolved the issue, so that individual should no longer be a problem.

But I'm going to. Anything that can potentially be a threat to Rin, I want to know about. We had a deal, I believe.

[Ai might have noticed Simon keeping to himself with his book. That in itself was fine, but she kind of wanted to talk to him a bit more since he's someone Athena knows after all! They've only been civil to each other so far (except for that weird drunken first meeting).]

Simon? Would you like me to refill your drink for you? It looks like you'll be reading for a long while.

[Simon looks up from his book, surprised. He still doesn't know how to react to Ai; he's not all that used to people being kind and courteous, and it throws him off from his usual gruffness.]

Oh... I suppose you could. [???] Thank you.

[emotive]

[She is the most polite and courteous! To the point where people tell her to lighten it up.

Anyhoo, she goes to do just that and in a minute or two, she returns with a refilled drink, setting it next to him.]

Here you go! [She's holding her own drink and already sipping on it.]

Did Athena invite you out to this place? I apologize if I sound presumptuous, but I sort of wondered if you were accustomed to this sort of outing.

[Because yeah, he sort of contrasts against the colorful background of the water park. Must be the lack of vitamin D.]

[He takes his drink, sipping it and pondering her question.]

It's not presumptuous... You're very observant. I came because of Athena, but you're correct to guess I'm unaccustomed to this.

[He sets his drink down, and looks back at her.]

...I'm unaccustomed to many normal things.

Hm. As it so happens, a lot of things are firsts for me here.

[She sits next to him at a respectable distance with her drink in hand, smiling reassuringly at him.]

I don't think that's a bad thing though.

[He doesn't return the smile. If anything, his usual frown deepens.]

I imagine the circumstances you and I came from are very different.

'The Even More Falling of the Shinsengumi' isn't a terribly snappy title, I'm afraid.

[Blackquill looks up, then, and blinks dolefully at the man he's addressing. Wasn't this the guy who wore a dress and pretended to be Athena's father...? He won't even pretend to understand that girl's choice in acquaintances.]

You take an interest in history books?

No. It's a perfect title.

This isn't a history book for me. Falling of the Shinsengumi would be something in the future-- hopefully near future. The sooner the better.

[ Ryuko finds a moment to sit beside her friendly neighbor, not acknowledging the fact that he'd probably prefer to be undisturbed. She's more interested in the bruises she noticed earlier while he was swimming. ]

[He huffs, bookmarking his page and setting the book down. He'd hoped that by simply trying to avoid drawing undue attention to himself today, no one would pay him much notice.]

Evidently. And yourself? Lopped off any more body parts recently?

[Hopefully this Nui person hadn't been causing her too much grief while she's been in hiding...]

Geez, you gotta let that go already!

What the hell happened to you anyway? I thought livin' with you is supposed to keep Athena outta danger!

That's a fine way to leap to conclusions. My injuries have nothing to do with her, and she is in no more danger than anyone else in this absurd city.

Okay, then what happened? Don't tell me you just fell or somethin' lame like that!

I was injured at work, as a result of my own folly. That is all.

[And he goes back to his book, as though that's the end of the conversation.]

[Perhaps since the debacle with Rip, someone has has been a little concerned... or at least as concerned as Integra would allow herself to show. Needless to say that internally, she had been fretting.

This is exhibited by vigorously shaking Blackquill's limp body when she finds him passed out inside one of the hot tubs.

You don't let a girl save you just to drown not a week later, you know!! Who does Blackquill think he is, anyway?]

[How does sitting upright in a hot tub qualify as drowning?! Blackquill is startled awake from his previously peaceful nap with an undignified 'gah!', then raising his arms as if to shield himself from a would-be attacker.

...Then he wakes up enough to realise it's just Integra. Not that it lessens the panic by much.]

Sir Integra?! What is the emergency this time?
