Teeny Weeny String Bikini [OPEN!]

Where: Indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District
What: An indoor waterpark adventure! It's like a beach episode in the middle of the winter! Basically, Nonon wanted to go with just Ryuko but suddenly more people were invited than she intended. Now the word is out, it's not longer a private date for the two, and instead filled with friends, food and swimming!

It all started with a simple text message to Ryuko. Nonon had found a bikini she wanted to wear and heard about an indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District that is heated in the wintertime. And what she had secretly hoped to be a day out between her and her sister's best friend that she might or might not be feeling some sort of unresolved tension with, suddenly grew bigger when she was told to invite Athena. Soon more and more people were invited until it was a small crowd all planning to meet up at the waterpark.




And what a park it is!

With a giant heat lamp in roof overhead it's almost like being at the beach in summer! The change of temperature as soon as you arrive is almost staggering. The heat is a nice change of pace though from the snowstorm that had hit earlier over Christmas, making it all the better reason to rip off your clothes down to your swimsuit and enjoy a day in the water!!

There is plenty to do:

Water slides!

A wave pool!

A hidden grotto with hot tubs for secret rendezvous...

Lazy river!

Deliciously fruity cocktails from the swim-up bar that are known to be deceptively alcoholic...

Some local jerk has even brought food for people to eat, or you can eat at the snack bar!

Sunbathing!

Chicken fights!

And of course, swimming with friends!

Just be careful around the little robotic crabs that move around, as the self-cleaning systems. There's rumors that if they were all to come together in one place they might form into a giant dangerous crab robot that would need to be battled, in some kind of... Crab Battle. So don't do that.

The park closes at 9:00pm, and the sun slowly turns off with sundown, so enjoy a romantic evening lit by underwater lights.

[And no murder. HE really has come to appreciate how much murder ruins a party. Go figure. But at her latter words, he laughs sheepishly, nodding.]

It's good to meet you as well, Kirigiri-san. Sorry it took so long for a proper introduction, but I wasn't sure you'd really want to be bothered by someone like me, after all.

[ She shakes her head. ]

You aren't a bother. [ But she can understand his hesitance in approaching her, in a way. Ever since learning about her connection to the other class, Kyouko has been careful in getting to know them, opting for letting them come to her on their own terms. ] You are also Super High School Level Luck, correct?

[Komaeda blinks at the question, his expression faltering for a moment before he nods, sheepishly.] That's true. But if you're making a comparison to Naegi-kun, that's definitely not really fair to him. Despite what his talent may have been called, he managed to overcome it and become something really amazing.

[SHSL Hope. Komaeda is simultaneously in awe of Naegi and terribly jealous.]

In the end, it's much more accurate to say me talent has me rather than that I have it.

[ She nods, her expression softening. ]

You're right. He's done so much that his only appropriate title is Hope.

[ There's a small pause as she glances over at Komaeda. ] It's what you do with that talent rather than the talent itself that matters, isn't it?

[There it is. Hope. It's really astounding, and enough to have Komaeda glancing off, away from Kirigiri, towards the pool.] We all really owe Naegi-kun a lot. [He manages a smile though, turning his gaze back to her.] And you too for that matter, Kirigiri-san.

[His expression falters despite his best efforts at what she says next though.] Mm. That is true, for those people who have a talent they can use. In my case, my luck is something that happens. I can't choose when it happens or what it does. It's more like... mm. It's like a force of nature. I can't even keep it from catching up other people.

[But oh he's getting gloomy, and he seems to realize this, managing a laugh.] But Hinata-kun's at least shown me that even a completely untalented person like me has some choices I can make to try to be better.

[ Kyouko watches him carefully, unsure of what to think. ]

...Talent or no talent, we all have to strive to be our best. There are things all of us could improve upon. [ And she specifically means herself. With or without her talent, there's still things she could personally improve on. ]

Mm! That's what I think I've come to believe now.

[Not what he'd always believed. "Talent or no talent" is a phrase he'd never have been able to agree with not all that long ago. But things change. He's seen what talents can do in despair as well as hope, and it's more complicated than he wanted to believe for a long time.]

But! I think I have us talking about serious things at a party. That's really not good manners is it?

Hehe... I suppose it isn't.

[ It's probably better for a change in subject, especially for the first time meeting someone. ]

Have you been in the pool yet?

Mm! I was in earlier. Hinata-kun pulled me in.

[How cruel, right? What he's leaving out of the story is that he pushed Hinata in first. Minor detail. Besides, all in good fun.]

What about you? Do you like swimming, Kirigiri-san?

[ She gives him a small smile. It at least sounds like he didn't mind that too much.

As for his question, there's a small pause. ]

...I'm not sure. I haven't gone swimming in a long time. [ And any swimming she may have done at Hope's Peak is gone from her memory. ]

Then... that seems like something you should find out while you have the chance.

[What he's getting at here is.] Want to go for a swim? Even if I may not be the best company, maybe you'd be willing to come with me anyway?

[The water is pretty nice.]

Of course.

[ Especially since it's warm in here—despite the temperature outside—the pool is looking more and more tempting. ]

Which pool would you like to go to? [ There's a lot of different pools here... The wave pool, the main one, and the lazy river, despite the small space. ]

[Oh hey! Pool time with Kirigiri. Komaeda is kind of excited now. But she poses a good question.]

Hmm! I think any of them would be fun! But what do you think about trying out the wave pool?

[He hasn't given that one a try yet. Could be fun.]

[ Kyouko's never been in a wave pool before, but this is the perfect time to try it out... ]

That would be fine with me.

[ She stands up. They need to go get a board, right? ]

[They're both going to drown. That's his luck. It's been lovely knowing you this brief time, Kirigiri. But Komaeda is still smiling blithely enough.]

Then let's do it. I want to give it a try, though... mm! Over here, I think we can get what we need for it.

[ Hopefully a lifeguard can get to them in the case of a disaster. But Kyouko isn't worrying about anything bad happening yet. ]

Yes, it looks like we can. [ She picks up a board, grabbing one for Komaeda and handing one over. ]

[Godspeed, lifeguards. Komaeda's luck has been less apparent lately -- so maybe they'll get out of this relatively unscathed. He follows along with her, taking the offered board.]

Aah... it's kind of exciting. But... Kirigiri-san, I wonder if I should warn you to be careful of any particularly bad luck.

[ Kyouko pauses in her walk to the wave pool, turning toward Komaeda. ]

Bad luck? Is that common for you?

[ She knows Naegi doesn't have the best luck either but... If Komaeda is warning her, it's probably best to at least be cautious. ]
