Where: Indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District
What: An indoor waterpark adventure! It's like a beach episode in the middle of the winter! Basically, Nonon wanted to go with just Ryuko but suddenly more people were invited than she intended. Now the word is out, it's not longer a private date for the two, and instead filled with friends, food and swimming!

It all started with a simple text message to Ryuko. Nonon had found a bikini she wanted to wear and heard about an indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District that is heated in the wintertime. And what she had secretly hoped to be a day out between her and her sister's best friend that she might or might not be feeling some sort of unresolved tension with, suddenly grew bigger when she was told to invite Athena. Soon more and more people were invited until it was a small crowd all planning to meet up at the waterpark.

And what a park it is!

With a giant heat lamp in roof overhead it's almost like being at the beach in summer! The change of temperature as soon as you arrive is almost staggering. The heat is a nice change of pace though from the snowstorm that had hit earlier over Christmas, making it all the better reason to rip off your clothes down to your swimsuit and enjoy a day in the water!!

There is plenty to do:

A wave pool!

A hidden grotto

Chicken fights!

Just be careful around the little robotic crabs that move around, as the self-cleaning systems. There's rumors that if they were all to come together in one place they might form into a giant dangerous crab robot that would need to be battled, in some kind of... Crab Battle. So don't do that.

The park closes at 9:00pm, and the sun slowly turns off with sundown, so enjoy a romantic evening lit by underwater lights.

[It's very possible she's just stuck in a familiar loop. This way she can get some exercise in and still say she spent time at the party, without having to engage in awkward (to her) conversation.

No such luck at the moment, because she pauses when she hears her name, treading water slowly back and forth to prevent muscle cramping.]

When I'm finished...? [she repeats, as if the thought hadn't occurred to her.]

Once I'm tired, I think that will be enough. It isn't like swimming in the ocean, where I must determine how much energy I need to conserve to return safely to shore.

[Well... that's sort of an answer. Komaeda considers it now as he looks down at her.] So you're planning on going until you're all out of energy? But then what energy will you have left for the rest of the party?

[Come now, Peko. There's so much to do here besides laps, right? Komaeda isn't great at parties, but he does at least recognize that there's a lot going on.]

Is this sort of thing how you have fun, Pekoyama-san?

[Rest... of the party? Implying that her laps won't take up almost all of the time? Hmm...]

If I take some time to rest, I will still be able to enjoy the party. It is enough for me to see everyone here enjoying themselves, anyway.

[In spite of everyone's best efforts, she does still have a tendency to see herself as somewhat separate from the rest of the activities.]

I take it that something like this is not how you have fun?

It is nice to see everyone having a good time. I think that's true. But you should try to take some time to rest. It's important, isn't it? To balance things like that out?

[Maybe? Who knows. He shouldn't be giving advice on anything, and he knows it. He glances around at her question.]

Well, I'm not really good enough at swimming to enjoy doing laps. But then... I'm not really good enough at parties to really know what to do at one anyway, so I guess I'm just happy to be included.

Hm.

[She hums quietly, nodding with the sentiment of just being happy to be included. That seems to be a recurring theme with their classmates; herself, Gundam, and now Komaeda she knows are among those. The others, she can't really speak for.

Speaking of the others, though...]

You have been here longer than I have. Is there any point in attempting to search for Souda and Hanamura?

[The other reasons she's doing laps, really; to distract herself from that. She wasn't particularly close to either of the perverts, but still; they'd accepted her and Kuzuryuu after her actions on the island, so she can't help but be a little concerned for them.]

[They are basically all from the island of misfit toys, it's true. So being included is new and exciting. Komaeda thinks so anyway. His expression sobers at her question, and he hesitates a moment before answering.]

It can't hurt to look just in case they stumbled into some sort of trouble together... [He's not putting it past them to be stuck in a well or something. That's all.]

But in all likelihood... mm. I think they've gone as suddenly as they came. That seems to happen here. I'm not sure why yet, but I'd really like to find out.

I would like to find out, as well.

[Alright, it's kind of weird even for Peko to stay treading water in a pool while having a conversation, so she's just going to swim the remaining few feet to the edge of the pool and hoist herself out to sit near her classmate. Her sword bag, she shrugs off her bag and just holds in one hand, letting the water drip from the bag back into the pool. Later, she'll wipe the blade off properly.]

There are still many mysteries to this place that I have not yet been able to solve.

[Komaeda can agree with that entirely, and he shifts to face Pekoyama a bit more as she speaks.

His own feet are still dangling in the water, but he's barely paying attention to that, focused on the matter at hand. He nods in agreement. That's been his problem too. Too many mysteries and not nearly enough answers.] Same here. I've tried investigating. Hinata-kun has too, but there haven't been a lot of answers that either of us has found just yet.

It's really frustrating. But we should definitely keep trying.

I have yet to find anything of real substance, either, [she agrees with another noise of discontent, shaking her head. It is frustrating, he's not wrong about that, but she isn't about to give up! For now, at least.]

Or any answers that have been found seem to lead only to more questions. Have you spoken with Kirigiri of the other class, yet? Even with her talent of Super High School Level Detective, she has yet to uncover anything more.

I've only really spoken with her for the first time today, actually.

[She's intimidating with what he knows about her, and her whole future foundation deal. But he's wanted to speak to her and finally managed to do it.

But they only talked shop briefly.]

That's disappointing, to know that even Kirigiri-san hasn't made any headway yet. We can't give up though. Whatever this place is, especially now that it's taken some of our classmates away again.

Agreed.

[She exhales through her nose and shakes her head again, dipping her feet back into the water and staring out over the pool. Something like this is peaceful, to be sure, but talk like this makes it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere.]

As long as we keep looking, I'm certain we'll be able to find an answer. And as long as we are willing to act, as well.

[Maybe not the best thing to say, as one murder-island murderer to another, but her point remains.]

[Sorry, Peko. Komaeda has joined the party pooper brigade with subject matter like this. He leans his hands back against the ground behind him.]

Mm! We definitely can't give up. No matter what, we all need to keep moving forward. That's what I've learned from Hinata-kun anyway, and that's the way I want to act.

[But yes with less murder this time. Maybe. That didn't work well for either one of them, in hindsight.]
