Where: Indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District
What: An indoor waterpark adventure! It's like a beach episode in the middle of the winter! Basically, Nonon wanted to go with just Ryuko but suddenly more people were invited than she intended. Now the word is out, it's not longer a private date for the two, and instead filled with friends, food and swimming!
Rating/Warning: None so far!

It all started with a simple text message to Ryuko. Nonon had found a bikini she wanted to wear and heard about an indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District that is heated in the wintertime. And what she had secretly hoped to be a day out between her and her sister's best friend that she might or might not be feeling some sort of unresolved tension with, suddenly grew bigger when she was told to invite Athena. Soon more and more people were invited until it was a small crowd all planning to meet up at the waterpark.

And what a park it is!

With a giant heat lamp in roof overhead it's almost like being at the beach in summer! The change of temperature as soon as you arrive is almost staggering. The heat is a nice change of pace though from the snowstorm that had hit earlier over Christmas, making it all the better reason to rip off your clothes down to your swimsuit and enjoy a day in the water!!

There is plenty to do:

A wave pool!

A hidden grotto

Chicken fights!

Just be careful around the little robotic crabs that move around, as the self-cleaning systems. There's rumors that if they were all to come together in one place they might form into a giant dangerous crab robot that would need to be battled, in some kind of... Crab Battle. So don't do that.

The park closes at 9:00pm, and the sun slowly turns off with sundown, so enjoy a romantic evening lit by underwater lights.

[She laughs and nods in kind.] And I'd like a...Mangled Melon.

[What? She enjoys melons.

And the barkeep makes them up and takes her card with a smile, passing over two large fruity looking concoctions.]

Do you think they're alcoholic?

Who cares if they are? It's not like our parents are here. Thank god. [she grins wickedly, then sips at her drink. it came with a fun swirly straw, that makes her want to find the water slides later] Aaah! It's really refreshing!

Well...[Rei doesn't laugh too hard, but she does sip at her own drink and twirl a finger through her own straw.] You know we have wine at home right? I didn't know you wanted to drink, Minako-chan.

It's a special occasion! Sort of. So we should celebrate! [that's the reason she is drinking! Minako nods firmly.

and she totally did not know there was wine at their place. she wasn't paying too much attention. but that makes her wonder if Rei is drinking regularly now..]

Special occasion hmmm? What are we celebrating? [Rei sips and keeps on walking, looking around for a table or something to sit at. Spotting a gazebo near the wave pool she makes for it.

And...Rei is drinking with some regularity, in all honesty. At parties, anyway. She'd never drunk alone, and never to excess...but before now it'd only been her own birthday. Here? It was more or less with Athena and other friends. And it's not like Edgeworth would allow too much.]

[Minako follows after Rei]

Uh, the pool party! Duh! [the pool party was not a celebration] ...Though, we can celebrate something else, if you want.

...why not celebrate being here together?

[That's better than any pool party...and ohgodthatface]

That'd make more sense than celebrating a party...because a party is for celebrating something...

I was thinking that... [she looks down] But it seems kind of wrong to say it.

Wrong? How does it feel wrong?

[You can imagine how that makes her face crumple. Was there something wrong? Was it not enough? The other girls weren't there...true, but they had adventures together before?]

[Minako sits back in her seat, looking up at the gazebo covering. and she sips her drink some more]

I dunno. It kind of sounds like we're happy to be alone, you know? [maybe she's reading too much into it. Minako has really enjoyed spending with Rei. but her sense of duty keeps nagging her in the back of her mind. she feels guilty, too]

[Rei leans back, eyes closing. She understands that...but all the same.] It...does and it doesn't. We have to take the blessings we're given, and that's what Usagi-chan would say. And having you is a blessing, believe me.

[Seriously.]

But hopefully it's the start to a pattern of blessings, that will fill out our empty rooms.

[Minako smiles softly when Rei refers to her as a blessing. she was right, they had to count every little blessing, especially in times like this. they were together, and that was better than being alone]

Then. [she raises her glass, her mind eased slightly by Rei's words] Let's celebrate the blessings.

[It was a blessing, and Rei finds herself smiling again, though it's muted.]

Blessings. [Her hand lifts.] And opportunities. I never expected to find so many kindred spirits here.

Kindred spirits? [Minako looks almost devious suddenly. she leans forward] What does that mean?

[And Rei leans back, eyes big.]

Friends? Who...aren't also Sailor Senshi? But that doesn't make you less of one...

[chinhands] Are any of these friends close?

[minako pls]

W-What are you getting at?

[Minako...your face...]

Romance, Rei-chan! [she almost says boys, but then thinks better of it] You said you met kindred spirits! So, does that mean you've met the one?

[she's way too excited about this subject, at the possibility of Rei's budding romance]

...Romance? [...] The one? Minako-chan, I've been here two months. And the people I've been considering kindred spirits are samurai from a century ago...

.......... [Minako deflates instantly] Oooh. What a let-down! Geez.

You want me to be involved with someone?

[Rei leans closer]

Really?

[geh! that was not a question Minako expected. and... it really makes her think. she loves the gossip more than anything, but the honest answer?]

I just want you to be happy.

[Rei leans in even closer, sipping her drink]

And if I told you being around my friends...especially you...makes me happy?

[Minako's face... no, her whole being seems to brighten up considerably. she looks like she might even cry at those words. maybe, somewhere deep down, she already knew that, but it was nice to hear it out loud.

after all, they'd already said that they didn't need men to get along. Minako entertained the idea often, but even she understood it was not in earnest]

You make me happy too, Rei-chan. [and she puts one hand on the table, arm stretched towards Rei, palm up]
