VIVID PARTY | 01.
Who: THE VIVID PARTY.
When: IC: 10/13
Where: Inside ViViD.
What: Time to level up by grinding (unsexily), dancing with dragons and looting some corpses.
Rating/Warning: Probably just violence.
[ ooc: May as well break this up into sections similar to event logs!
ooc: SO THERE IT IS. Kara will have mentioned the date to anyone interested beforehand, which can be handwaved. This is pretty open to player creativity, and skills of the enemy can really depend on what you'd like, but this is meant to be a simple quest. With dance offs. Any questions can be answered here. Information on ViViD is here, and all credit rewards and upgrades are up to player discretion! ]

001. Once they're in, Kara will be directing people to go talk to Takakage in order to give him telepathy permission! Of course, it's okay to say no. Also mingling. Don't get cold feet.
002. The main quest—a scouting crew of elven warriors equipped with bows, spears and swords. The field is this: a small encampment of human NPCs, and a large field, marred only by a long river running across it. The moment they arrive in ViViD, the crew will advance across the field. Crossing the river will take then fifteen minutes, getting to the encampment will take an hour in total. There's not too many enemies to be completely overwhelmed, but it's not going to be even close to easy. The first round starts when the spearmen arrive, who are then joined in the third round by the swordsmen and the fourth by the bowmen. Once the fifth round starts, anyone who stuck around can go up against...
The mage-slash-final-boss, hiding at the back of the crew, as he summons a group of dragons.
003. THE DRAGONS. They're fairly small and range in all different colours, but the thing is, they're less in it for the battle and more for the fun. And one thing a dragon likes more than fighting? (Hint, not virgins. Not gold either.)
Dancing. Each dragon will approach character and NPC alike and challenge them to a dance off. It's actually kind of easy to impress them, but if you insult their sick moves, you might get set on fire. If you successfully entertain a dragon, they'll turn on their master and attack him. (You'll also get bonus rewards if you do it. Like an achievement: Danced with Dragons.)
004. Getting down to the nitty gritty—the boss. A mage, casting dark spells and elemental magic, firing upon the battle from across the river. It's not easy to get to him, as he'll be shooting spells at anyone trying to get near him, but if your character braves it and manages to engage with the boss then he's pretty easy to beat up close.
The only thing is, he has a final trick up his sleeve—no, not more dragons. As the boss realises he's going to lose, he'll copy himself, again and again, until there are at least ten different versions of him. You're free to take on one or more, and the game will end once all of them are defeated.
BONUS. Sidequest time. There are four to choose from:
a.) One of the NPCs in the camp will be asking various players to carry cargo off of the battlefield, towards a ship in the opposite direction of the fight. It's the easiest one, giving the least amount of reward, but it's also quick. The only thing is some of the cargo may be pretty heavy... you should buddy up with someone.
b.) Inspiring time. Some of the NPCs want to see a wicked battle—they'll be asking characters to perform various feats in the midst of battle, such as performing elemental attacks on swordsmen, stabbing someone with an arrow, a suplex and using a "finisher move" complete with yelling out the name of the move. Look, your peers are very specific.
c.) Loot get. One of the nurses in the camp is asking around for people to pick through slain enemies' pockets for potential healing aids they couldn't get to. So, yeah. She wants you to dig through some dead, but it's unlikely they'll mind...
d.) Collecting dragon teeth. Sure, the dragons can be defeated by dancing, but a chemist in the camp wants their teeth and will pay heavily for them. This is the hardest task, since characters will have to either knock out or kill a dragon in order to get their teeth, and it's not something done easily. Watch your fingers!

He'd need to give us a more shocking performance than that!
[ He blinks, his eyes glow red, then before the enemy can aim, he pushes himself off the ground and breaks into a sprint. If anything gets in his way, he dodges and burns it down in an instant. ]

Someone is definitely cruising for a bruising. ]

Yang!
no subject
[ it's a near-instantaneous response, because Yang is accustomed to teamwork as much as she is to fighting alone, and when Yata calls out, she's quick to acknowledge it. She could use multiple shots to weaken it, but there's two of them, and if she channels her strength and her aura into one hit... well, the quicker the better.
She could say something like "go for it" or "hit it with all you've got" or "don't hold back", but she's choosing to just trust in him right now. If they don't break it in one hit, they can try again and get it in the next.
With this thought in mind, Yang grits her teeth and endures the sudden pulsing pain of a darkness spell to her shoulder, because of course the enemy isn't going to wait for them to knock down a wall. Good, let it hit-- her hair suddenly flares bright gold, much brighter than before, as her eyes turn red and her fist is engulfed in white-hot flames when she slams it against the ice.
This poor wall didn't deserve the both of them. ]

Nice!
[ But if he noticed anything about her or had any more to say, it's in the mind of his mind. Right now, he wants to teach that mage a lesson. ]
Hey, I got dibs!
no subject
i picked the wrong icon but just pretend it's yata looking cool (i know it's impossible, but)
Haha! Too easy. Aight, we're done here.
[ But just as he turns around, the mage weakly raises his hand to draw another magic circle in the air... ]
HAHAHAHA
[ the air shimmers around the mage as more copies appear around him, all ready to launch spells at that beanie kid, now that he's nice and close.
Except Yang's suddenly there with a quick burst of speed, slamming one fist onto the downed mage and releasing a fiery shot at another one, and boy does she look pissed. She can't fend off all ten elemental spells directed at her friend, but she can damned well try to take down some of the casters. ]
no subject
[ He was going to avoid the spell! ...Maybe. He doesn't know.
But the copies don't give Yata time to react to Yang's save. Rolling to the right and sliding to the left, he weaves through each wave of spells with great skill. Lightning, earth, fire—only when the mage aims an ice spell at him does he get hit. It knocks him away, but the burn he'd normally expect from the cold doesn't come; all he sees is a sizable amount shaved off his HP. ]
That all you got? You cheater!
[ He blocks the last spell aimed at them both by sending a fire storm of his own. ]
no subject
But that mage sure is on fire. ]
I'm the one who needs to chill?
no subject
There's seven left. Let's burn 'em all before it gets worse!
[ But one mage raises his staff and the ground rumbles, throwing Yata off-balance. Then, large rocks like spikes emerge out of the earth, aiming to skewer them. Time to run. ]
no subject
Because she's raining down her favorite explosive gunshots before she lands. ]
no subject
The explosions hit the spikes, which collapse and crush a mage under their weight. ]
Make that six!
[ Before the spikes also trap him, he launches off one to push himself straight out of the area to avoid a ball of energy. Maybe the best way to approach these guys is in a one-on-one, after all...
With nothing but his aura and some semblance of a plan, he goes straight for another mage. In a panic, the same mage summons vines in an attempt to restrain both Yang and Yata. One vine wraps around Yata's wrist and he breaks it, but the one that wraps around his leg trips him and yanks him closer. ]
no subject
[ They could be doing better, but one-on-one fights or not, she's still considering Yata a teammate in this situation. So when he goes down, she breaks the hold of a vine around her chest - thankfully, that shit's uncomfortable- and slams a fist down on the vine hauling on Yata's leg. It snaps in half, but she's forced back with a yelp as a tree root flies out from the ground, aiming for brute force now. ]
no subject
Yang!
[ Upon watching his friend get hit, he grits his teeth—something in him snaps. He lets out a battle cry and his body is alight with flames once more, fire surging forward as it threatens to burn everything in its path. Then, he rushes toward the enemy, scorching each vine and root the mage sends before tackling him to the ground. The fire is so strong that the mage disappears the moment Yata's shoulder makes contact, letting him hit and roll on hard ground. ]
no subject
But Yang's up again, giving her head a quick shake before she charges back in to rejoin the battle. One mage is too intent on aiming an ice spell at Yata to defend himself when she slams into him, and it's one shot to the face to keep him down. It's okay, friend, she's still here. ]

Thanks. Can we get a headcount now? No, wait, I can take the ugly one.
[ They all look the same. ]

I get anything good if I take 'em down before you do?
no subject
[ most serious fight. ]
no subject
Wait—
[ ... But if he says he doesn't want one, wouldn't that be rude!?
Even a few water spells can't snap Yata out of his Yang-induced flustered state. He tries to deliberate the most socially acceptable answer as he closes the distance between him and the mages that just fired said spells, drawing quick red streaks of light in the air as he pummels them both, but nothing comes to mind. Frustrated by his own stupidity, he sends two more punches their way to take them out in an instant.
... Why did he perform better that time... ]
no subject
Not very far, because one more punch will take him down. ]
no subject
... Good job!
no subject
no subject
Mm. ... Thanks.
[ Could have done better, but he'll take it. ]
...I'm gonna go!
