Who: Jungo Torii (chawanmeowshi) & open

Where: Chawanmushi, a nondescript building in the shopping district.
What: Where has Jungo been? What has Jungo been doing? Well, he’s been getting ready to open his unfortunate mash-up of a cat cafe, a chawanmushi restaurant, and a bathhouse. And now it’s open without any fanfare at all. Somehow, he ends up hiring two swordspeople to work for him in the process.

[They start showing up out of nowhere. You might find one in the shopping district, brushing against your leg or pinned to a pole somewhere. You might find one in your mailbox. There’s no real rhyme or reason to where they show up, mostly because they’re being distributed by a pair of demons and Jungo, but there are flyers advertising a new business. There’s just one problem.

Okay, there are several problems. There’s the font choice, there’s the fact that the flyer seems to be advertising cats and baths at the same time, there’s the fact that there’s no date, there’s also no address...it’s kind of a mess. But for those who brave the trial ahead of them and search out this new restaurant in the shopping district, they’ll find something decidedly unique hidden behind a door with no banner.

They’ll find a clean and simple restaurant with Jungo behind the counter. They’ll find cats (one real, the rest CyBuddy for now) playing and napping and watching anyone who comes in. They’ll find a door near the back that leads to two separate bathing areas (the photos in the bathing area are all wildlife themed—it’s not always cats, Jungo loves all animals).

Of course, given the fact that Jungo doesn’t advertise well at all, they might just walk past the nondescript door and decide to enter it for fun. Or they might catch Jungo walking in himself, or they might catch the scent of egg custard in the air and follow their stomachs. No matter the outcome, there’s one chef standing behind the counter, and...the entire place is likely (and unsurprisingly) empty.]

[ooc; This is kind of an introduction to Jungo's establishment, named Chawanmushi (it's the easiest name to remember). This is more for one-on-one with Jungo, though if there's interest, I can do mingles here later. /o/;]

[She got one of the flyers, she really has to check out this bizarre mishmash, which is why she is here. It's like a treasure hunt, trying to pick out the place.

That and since it's in the shopping district, she realised she's walked past this place a few times. It is then that she spots Jungo.]

[He looks pleased to see her. He's doing some prep work behind the counter; he keeps heading out to give out free samples of chawanmushi, he's the absolute worst at running a business.]

You seem spirited today. Are you in a good mood?

[hoasen]

[Jungo...you're going to be run out soon if you keep doing this! It's okay, she'll offer him advice.

She walks up to meet him, and nods.]

I am in a good mood because I have found the mystery place on the flyers. Also to find out that you work here. Is this yours?

[He hadn't been looking for Chawanmushi, but he'd found it. Sometimes Dotanuki liked to scout areas just to see what was there and when he found that this door was open? Well, he walked right in, not expecting much more than either another house he'd get thrown out of or an empty building.

Instead, he found Jungo and a lot of cats.

That's a lot of cats.]

Uh...hey? What're you doing here?

Oh, hello.

[His greeting goes from professional to personal as soon as he recognizes his new customer. It's his friend from earlier, though he isn't wearing anything cute. That's a shame.]

You're looking very strong today. [That's what he likes to be told, so Jungo makes sure to incorporate it into the conversation.] This is my new business. Welcome to chawanmushi.

[Dotanuki wasn't sure if he should feel happy by that greeting, but being told he looked strong evoked an involuntary reaction from him. His lips tugged up at the corners briefly, before dropping back down.]

Ussu. So you got yourself a restaurant after all, huh?

[He pushed the door open a little more and stepped inside, letting it close behind him.]

[ It's likely that Kagemitsu wouldn't have entered the restaurant if it wasn't for Poko, who's apparently caught sight of it. And since Kagemitsu trusts the tanuki's judgment, he's not going to say no when the animal shows his interest.

It's probably the cats that caught his attention, because soon after he's entered, he jumps from Kagemitsu's shoulder and goes over to one of the CYcats. Kagemitsu on the other hand focuses on the human. ]

You too, nii-san.

[The CYCats are all from Jungo's old job as CyBuddy caretaker. When he left, he couldn't bear to see them all be homeless. He knows not everyone likes them, too, so he's decided his place is the perfect fit for them.

But he's going to focus on the human, too, because he has a business to run. Technically. If someone asks for free food, he'll give it to them. It's the Jungo way of life.]

This is our grand opening. Thank you for coming in. How can I help you?

[Lancer is out on a light walk on the district and found the unique restaurant. He's certain that this restaurant name reminds him of something.

But no further thinking! He's hungry and it's time to eat!]

Sup! What kind of special delicacy do ya have here?

[At being asked for the specials, Jungo steps away from his cooking station so he can grab a menu and hand it to Lancer. Inside, there are several delicious items.

-Chawanmushi
-Tea chawanmushi
-Dessert chawanmushi
-Squid chawanmushi

And so on, and so on. There's also an option for stir fry, vegetables, and tea. Everything else? It's chawanmushi.]

I serve chawanmushi here. It's very gourmet. Have you ever had it before?

[ Nanoha had just been exploring the city when she had stumbled across Chawanmushi, and... here she was, thoroughly impressed by the interior. Not so much by the outside. ]

I'm guessing a store called Chawanmushi sells chawanmushi? [ But first, to pat all the cats. A place like this reminded her of her hometown. This was definitely a Japanese concept. ]

That's right.

[He actually sounds impressed and pleased that she figured it out. Only Jungo would react like that.

...he'll wait for her to pet the cats, too. All of the CyCats are friendly, and his own cat is even friendlier.]

We also have a public bathhouse. Today is our grand opening. Thank you for coming.

[This probably has something to do with that Jungo guy, doesn't it, is Naoki's first thought when he opens his mailbox to find one of the flyers. He stares at it for a while, notes the lack of...

...anything useful for finding it...

...but ah well. He's gone off of less before. SO OFF ON AN ADVENTURE. Luckily he knows the colony fairly well by now, with the amount of time he spends just walking around. So the nondescript door draws his eye in the shopping district with other shops much more obviously decorated.]

'Scuse meee-- [he's muttering half to himself as he pushes open the door and peers inside.]

[Naoki is absolutely right. The flyers only make it into some mailboxes, though. There are big clawmarks on most of them because Cait Sith is never in a good mood. Neko Shogun is the one that's good at sucking up to authority.

He's in the middle of cleaning some vegetables at the sink when Naoki walks in, but his face lights up (as much as Jungo's face can) when he sees a friend peeking through the doors.]

Naoki! It's good to see you! Did you come all this way just to see my restaurant?

[ Kousetsu had seen the flyers first and foremost. So of course if it's something even remotely ethnic to his home he will definitely give it a try. It's after many hours of searching that he finally stumbles across the restaurant and its unique interior.

At least the cats seem comfortable with the tall tachis appearance. ]

...is this Chawanmushi? [ He'll ask in a rather polite and interested tone of voice. ]

[Jungo nods at the question. When Kousetsu comes in, he's busy with his back to the counter because he's making tea instead of cooking at his station. He stops what he's doing to pay proper attention to his guest, though, grateful to have a customer, a guest, or even a new friend.

Gosh, he hopes he makes lots of new friends.]

That's right. I'm glad you made it. [He doesn't even know you but he loves you.] Would you like some tea? It's almost done.

[Naturally, Hiro knew just who was behind this flyer set up. It looked like Jungo was also handling this new and crazy place in his own way. Whenever he steps in through the doors, he's looking pretty impressed with the set up.]

Whooooa... I turn around for one second and you build a whole restaurant?! You've been a busy bee!

[He's been expecting Hiro! He gave Neko Shogun very specific instructions to teleport into his apartment and leave him plenty so doesn't forget to come by. Whether or not his demon listens, though, well...

...he should really watch them more, but sometimes he just needs an extra hand!]

Hiro! I'm glad you made it. [He unties his apron and hangs it up so he can cross over to the front of the restaurant. He'll cook more in a second.] It happened so suddenly. I met a man whose cat was missing, and then he gave us this building when we found him. Jungo was very helpful. Do you like it?

[The flyers were so odd, he's curious enough to come over and check it out. Cats and chawanmushi... it sounded kind of familiar? Where have he heard it before...

It took him a bit to find it (Jungo, you need an eye catching banner), but he manage to find it and step inside to see...]

...Jungo Torii?

[Oh, he remembers him. This guy helped named Kashuu (the cat), much to the real Kashuu's bafflement when he found out].

[He thought about getting a bigger banner, but no matter how he looks at it...isn't something plain better? He wants to be modest.]

Oh. Hello. It's nice to see you again. [And, most importantly.] How's Kashuu doing? Have you been taking good care of him?

[ Shuu and putting effort into anything is a joke, really. It sounds like the setup for a great punchline. So of course he doesn't find the place through thorough searching for the flyer's establishment - he didn't even see the flyer to begin with. It's just that he's hungry and there's the scent of food in the air, and Shuu is too much of a mentally five year old to not follow his nose instinctively.

.. except this place looks.. well. Shuu might not be human, and he's certainly not modern by any meaning of the word, but even he can see this place is themed.. weird. And it's empty.

What even. ]

What kind of place is this even supposed to be..? [ It can't be a real restaurant with the theme all over and no one there other than this one guy, right? Yet he's sure he can still smell the food. ]

Isn't it obvious? [Jungo doesn't mean to sound insulting; he really thinks that his establishment's ideas are pretty clear.] It's Chawanmushi. You can eat here, or you can play with the cute kitties, or you can take a bath.

[Because that's a normal store right there.]

Which one would you like to do today? I think the kitties are especially excited today, if you want to play with them.

[The flyer implies chawanmushi but also cats and baths, for some reason... There's a part of Shinsuke that's curious about what kind of person would choose to advertise like this, so around lunchtime, he decides to seek it out.

It's the smell of egg custard that gives the place away, but it's the look of the building that intrigues him even more.

He only spares the cats a glance before looking up at the one who greeted him.]

Good afternoon. Is the owner around?

[ It's the sounds of cats and the smell of food that catches Nonon's attention. Those two things together are certainly strange. And so she throws open the door to the restaurant, standing in the doorway in her girlfriend's sports jacket that's just a little too big, black leggings and winter boots. ]

What the hell kind of place is this?

[ Rude from the start, she didn't seem to read any signs, or really care much about doing any even minor amount of work it would take to try to guess. Instead... she just finds herself already moving to crouch next to a CyBuddy cat and start to pet it, whether she's listening to the chef or not. ]

[He just happens to be one of those customer who walks by and smells something good. He was looking for something to eat anyhow; it's one of the few reasons he would venture into the city. He'll tilt his head at the cats on the flier for a minute, then tuck the flier into his yukata to give to Zura later and step inside with a deep inhale.

Yeah, this place smelled really really good. And it really did have cats, and baths. He'll look around, a hard to measure expression on his face until he gets that greeting. He'll lift a hand in response.]

Mmh. Yo . . .

[aaand sitting down. He'll take the flier out, take a picture of it with his CeresVice, and then put it back in his kimono. ]
