Valentines day hadn’t been anything that he had known about prior to this year. It wasn’t a thing that was celebrated in his own time, but when he found out about it, and how important it was to many couples, he wanted to do something. And there was something he had wanted to ask Botan for a long time.
He was going to propose.
Not the way he had asked her to marry him when she didn’t remember who he was, but properly. But he didn’t know what weddings looked like in a world like this. He had turned to his trusted books, reading up on what a modern proposal and wedding entailed. A ring, he figured out he needed pretty quickly. An engagement ring, it was called. Should they both have one each? And should they be matching? The books only talked about women and rings, and symbolization, but he wanted to show that he belonged to her and no one else. If the ring was a promise, he should be wearing one too. So he got both of them pretty rings, the same kind though it would possibly look a bit out of place on his own hand with how pretty it was, but it was chosen to suit Botan after all.
He had taken the day off from work to make everything perfect. It was nice weather outside, a sheet of snow on the ground. In a park where the snow decorated trees and benches, he cleaned off the snow from the bench and started to set out flowers. He had bought flowers of every kind and shade of pink and purple, He had set up candles, shielded from the wind in their glass lanterns, giving the area an additional glow aside from the street lights.
And come evening, he led Botan to toward the park, making sure she was dressed well enough not to get cold. And with her hand in his, he walked by her side in the guise of an evening stroll. And now that he’s about to ask her, he’s having a hard time keeping the question in until they get to the park. But then the lights and the flowers become visible, and he’s bursting with nerves.

Botan can feel his nerves as she looked to the ring. Those words full of love hit her hard and she's left covering her face as she blushes more. He really was the only person that could make her like this. "I...I will...you hopeless man." She was happy and it was hard to hide, though she was now in tears as well. They just started to fall down her cheeks was this what happiness really was.

When her reply came he was overjoyed. He had never been happier than knowing that she wanted to be with him forever. His heart was bursting with emotions, fluttering butterflies in his stomach. When he saw her tears he became worried though, and came closer to gently wipe the tears away. "Are you okay?" He had never seen her cry like this before. But then, she had never said yes to a proposal from him before either.
He wiped the tears away and off her cheeks as they fell, kissing her cheeks. "Are you really okay?"

Botan was overcome with joy it was what caused the tears. She's cried before but this was once again happiness, but this was more that just that. Even as she felt his hands on her cheeks and his question, she placed her hands to his own. Nodding her head up and down she just laughed a little before she closed her eyes and then opened them. Her chest was warm, everything was warm.
"Yes, I'm fine...just...happy? I didn't expect this. You asked me before but never like this."

Matching rings, something that showed that she accepted him to be her future husband. Something that showed that they belonged with each other.

"Here I thought the gift I made for you would be good." She felt a little outdone now.

He picked up her ring, holding it. He couldn't do it the way the did on the TV, but he still guided the ring onto her finger. "It suits you."
no subject
Looking to the ring she can't help but to admire it. "It is really lovely...how did you get these?" She was curious how he got them and was able to remain quiet.

He lifted up the other ring. "Will you put this on me?" The question made him blush.
no subject
"Okay." Taking the ring in her hand she moved the ring onto his finger. They really did match. "You never stop amazing me."
no subject
"I hope I'll continue to do that for as long as we're together."
no subject
"I doubt that you will ever stop that." Botan then paused for a moment. "Hirari-dono...I need to tell Kagemitsu-dono." There was no way she couldn't tell him.
no subject
He pouted a little at the thought of what Kagemitsu might say though. He knew they would need to tell him of course, he wouldn't want to hide the news to anyone, but he was so annoying when it came to him and Botan. "Of course. ...I can look in your bag first though, right?"
no subject
Botan knows he can be protective but she wants to talk to him. She would want him involved with the wedding. Even if she isn't sure what involved means? Perhaps she will make a video again? People were helpful last time. "Oh, yes of course!"

And with a smile shot at Botan, he opens the bag.
no subject
Regardless, inside the bag is a box and inside that are small heart shaped chocolates. She worked hard on making them for Hirari. "I hope you like them."
no subject
He leans forward to press a kiss to her lips. "Thank you." Then he picks one up and pops into his mouth.
no subject
Botan blinked before she pressed back into his lips. "I'm glad you like them. I want to learn to make more things."

"But you can still feed me one, right?"
no subject
"If you want." She smiles and grabs one from the box.

He wiggles around on the bench, scooting a little closer to her and taking her free hand before opening his mouth in expectation.
no subject
Chuckling at his actions she moved her hand closer to him before she placed the chocolate into his mouth. Really what was she going to do with this man. "Is it good?"
no subject
He blushes, , chews and swallows before nodding. "It's really good."
no subject
Her own blush shows as she pulled her hand back. "Oh, good. I didn't know how they might taste."
