[ upon kogami's suggestion, akane's taken it upon herself to find a suitable (ha ha) way of celebrating her 23rd birthday! she found the chilling cave by coincidence while patrolling the streets once and decided that she wants to try ice skating.

so after texting the guys (brother, mom, and dad), as well as a couple of friends (really, it's just a couple. she doesn't have much friends) if they're free on the 17th, she waits outside the chilling cave, hoping to meet up with her friends.

[Kogami apparently thinks Akane needs more friends, and so having been invited by the dog (and having heard that it's Akane's birthday) Vietnam is 100% prepared 4 this.

She has:
1. Pink and Blue Bouquet as sponsored by Kogami. For that, she has signed the card with his name in it as well.
2. One floral hairclip, because why not, let's go with the theme.

If she's not looking for Akane to handover the gift, she'll be sitting by the chairs (because a summer soul does not know how to skate). And also unusually dressed in too many layers.]

[ truth be told, she didn't expect vietnam to show up. it's a very pleasant surprise! she waves and heads over to where the other girl is and bows her head slightly. ]

[Nothing says LET'S BE AWESOME FRIENDS like a surprise entrance into a birthday party, so here she is! Seeing Akane, she moves to meet her half way before greeting her.]

Hello, Akane! It is nice to see you again, and excuse me for my intrusion! [She holds the nicely wrapped gift and bouquet out to her (including cards!)] These are for you. Chúc mừng sinh nhật. Happy birthday!

Ah, no, you weren't intruding--

[ she blushes a tiny bit. she doesn't know vietnam so well, and yet she's giving akane a gift? that's- flattering, and it makes akane's heart sing a little bit. ]

Oh my, you didn't have to get me this. Thank you so much.

It appears Shinya Kogami is very shy when it comes to giving gifts himself. He was the one who paid for that bouquet. But you did not hear that from me.

[ she looks dead serious for a few moments until she suddenly bursts out laughing. OH MY GOD, this is gold! ]

[SHE CHOSE HER WORDS WISELY.]

I-It sounds unusual, no? [She clears her throat because she's TRYING NOT TO LAUGH but no, it's a thing.] I asked if he wanted to give the gift, and I was told to give it to you myself. He chose the colours, so aside from the arrangement, the bouquet is all him.

I didn't expect it to be snowing, myself...

[ Hello, another potential female friend?? Otome's moving on over with a thermos. ]

Would you like some cocoa to help you warm up?

It is very beautiful, but a little bit inconvenient.

[Potential female friend!! But more importantly, Otome is her saviour right now?! She brightens up at the offer.]

O-oh, is it alright for me to have some?

Of course! I brought it for this exact purpose.

[ Including styrofoam cups in her bag and a handkerchief in her pocket and-- yeah, you know what, she's just going to pour Vietnam a cup. ]

[Holy music sounds as Otome pours the hot cocoa in slow motion, the steam rising from the cup all alluringly.

Or at least that is how it would be in anime land?! Vietnam gratefully takes the offered cup, even just holding it is warming her up already.]

Ah, thank you so much! Your good idea has saved me too. [She blows gently on the surface before taking a small sip.] Mmm, and it's very invigorating.

Something sweet is good to invigorate the senses-- in moderation, of course. [ But she's relieved that the idea's coming in handy. ] I'll have to remember to bring more layers next time!

Aha, that is true. Too much of a good thing can be bad. Though in this case! I am sure everyone would love to indulge. [Because it's delicious?!] I will as well. I didn't know it was actually going to be a winter cave. [But she shouldn't be surprised, it was Jack Frost's doing.]

I thought it would be your average ice rink, myself. I wonder how they got it to snow in here!

[ Fans? Snow machines? ]

Yes! Myself too! But I should've known. This is Jack Frost's establishment. Have you met him? He's all about theatrics and fun. He probably made the snow himself!

[ Somehow, Adolf's been roped into this... somehow. But after a harrowing few minutes of skating and alternating between feeling dizzy and feverish, he feels like now would be a good time to Sit Down.

He settles himself down in a chair close to Vietnam's (not next to her, what a nerd), and tries to keep his head from spinning. This month is going to brutal for a pure eel. ]

...Not enough layers, huh.

[ Look who's talking. ]

[Whoever ropes Adolf into these kind of things is a god, seriously. But ah, he looks a little unwell.]

Not enough layers, because I am unused to the cold... [But more importantly?! She leans over to try to inspect him.]

A-adolf? What is wrong? Is it too cold for you too?

[ A moment passes where he internally balks— how can she tell— but he elects, wisely, to play it cool. Meaning, he doesn't lean back or flinch visibly, and instead meets her gaze steadily...

...or, as steadily as he can while feeling nauseous. This is strange, he hasn't been sick like this in ages. ]

...Is there something on my face.

[ He looks a little paler than usual, yeah, but he tucks his collar over his face to compensate. ]

[He might be cool, but even he can't fight that stagger when he sat down?!

But look at him try...he tries so hard...]

Not exactly. You just do not look very well. Or at least, when you sat down. [And he looks paler than usual. She pulls off a glove after she moves a chair in to make sure she can sit next to him.] Excuse my forwardness. [And places her hand on his forehead.]

[ NO VIETNAM... why must she be this way?! This time, Adolf does balk, but he's not rude enough that he swats her hand away.

He also stays in his chair, because he's going to have a hell of a hard time standing back up, in his condition. What if he trips over his own feet, that would be even more incriminating than his obviously high temperature. ]

[ She's outing him, is what she's doing, but. Shh. ]

[BECAUSE? WHY NOT? If he passes out from being sick, it would be on her too since she didn't stop him!

Since he's not fleeing either, this means Vietnam will be able to out him with all her strength?! Just placing her hand on his forehead, she feels it burn that it shocked her with how he's even going out today.]

Adolf, you should be resting! [Now she's scolding him...ah...]

The fact of the matter is that the true answer to Vietnam's scolding is "it's Akane's birthday", but that makes him sound like too much of a soft eel, even if it is the truth.

So, of course, he says: ] That's not something you should concern yourself with. [ Accompanied by a wave of the hand, as per usual. ]
