[closed] everyone was watching you as everything just slipped away
Who: Akane Tsunemori (
condoner), and friends.
When: 17 April (IC)
Where: The Chilling Cave
What: The Psycho-Pass cast (and then some) go ice skating.
Rating/Warning: Warning for Gino's sadness.
[ upon kogami's suggestion, akane's taken it upon herself to find a suitable (ha ha) way of celebrating her 23rd birthday! she found the chilling cave by coincidence while patrolling the streets once and decided that she wants to try ice skating.
so after texting the guys (brother, mom, and dad), as well as a couple of friends (really, it's just a couple. she doesn't have much friends) if they're free on the 17th, she waits outside the chilling cave, hoping to meet up with her friends.
it's time… to chill! ]

Not enough layers, because I am unused to the cold... [But more importantly?! She leans over to try to inspect him.]
A-adolf? What is wrong? Is it too cold for you too?
no subject
...or, as steadily as he can while feeling nauseous. This is strange, he hasn't been sick like this in ages. ]
...Is there something on my face.
[ He looks a little paler than usual, yeah, but he tucks his collar over his face to compensate. ]
no subject
But look at him try...he tries so hard...]
Not exactly. You just do not look very well. Or at least, when you sat down. [And he looks paler than usual. She pulls off a glove after she moves a chair in to make sure she can sit next to him.] Excuse my forwardness. [And places her hand on his forehead.]
no subject
He also stays in his chair, because he's going to have a hell of a hard time standing back up, in his condition. What if he trips over his own feet, that would be even more incriminating than his obviously high temperature. ]
—What are you doing.
[ She's outing him, is what she's doing, but. Shh. ]
no subject
Since he's not fleeing either, this means Vietnam will be able to out him with all her strength?! Just placing her hand on his forehead, she feels it burn that it shocked her with how he's even going out today.]
Adolf, you should be resting! [Now she's scolding him...ah...]
no subject
The fact of the matter is that the true answer to Vietnam's scolding is "it's Akane's birthday", but that makes him sound like too much of a soft eel, even if it is the truth.
So, of course, he says: ] That's not something you should concern yourself with. [ Accompanied by a wave of the hand, as per usual. ]
no subject
Well, that is a legitimate reason since she would probably do the same. But he can be honest? Gosh.
She's already looking around to see if there's somewhere for him to rest. His hand waving does nothing.] Do you feel warm or cold? I can get you a wet towel for your head in any case.
no subject
[ Is his immediate response, perhaps stated with a bit more finality than he usually employs— if only because being worried over for his health is rare and uncertain territory. ]
If I can't manage my own health, then that's nobody's fault but mine.
[ Too Tsun today. ]
no subject
Sickness is not something that one has to shoulder on their own. If you are ill, it means your body is prone to weakness. Though you would be able to do things yourself such as rest, having someone help you will reduce your burden and aid you so that you will have a fast recovery. Though you say it is your body's fault, it does not mean you must suffer alone.
Now. [And she puts both her hands on his shoulders.] You are dizzy, no? We need to find a place to lie down. If we can't locate the lounges, I will push these chairs together.
no subject
Naturally, he sighs to himself, silent under his collar. ]
You didn't come here to make sure I didn't fall over. I can do this on my own.
[ Meaning: 'fine, I'll go find a place to rest'. ]
no subject
At the same time...]
I didn't, but you are my friend. I care for your well being. [She starts to stand up.] Also, I did notice that today, walking is a little difficult for you. If I just let you go off on your own knowing that, then that means I am no good.
[Now it's a question of whether he wants to stay (then she'll just rearrange the seating) or he wants to find some place more comfortable. She's going to be his crutch now!]
no subject
Don't be stupid. You should know that this has nothing to do with you.
no subject
I still want to do it. If you allow me to come with you, I won't have to force my way by carrying you.
[Wait what. She's kidding. Or is she.]
no subject
Again, he's going to boggle. ]
'Force your way'.
[ He parrots, because girl...are you truly being serious... ] ...I walked here, I can walk to the lounge.
no subject
Is she serious though, this is the important question.]
Yes. If you walk, then I will follow. [EASY CONCEPT there we go she's coming with him.] Come, before you tire yourself more by just standing here.
no subject
I'm not an invalid. It must be a seasonal— [ his throat rasps, and he has to clear it to sound less like a disaster. ] ...bug.
[ This embarrassment is real. ]
no subject
I know, I saw how strong you are! But sometimes sickness still comes around. [TO HUMANS. Sorry...Adolf.] When you want to go home, I can take you too. [She knows he would want to stay longer since he's already out to celebrate a birthday. He's pure like that, awww.]
no subject
He tries to keep as much of his weight off of her as possible, of course, as he moves towards a sofa and settles himself down on it. ]
...I haven't run diagnostics on myself in a while. That must be why. [ From going through testing every day, to nothing at all— he can appreciate that his body might be out of whack. ] But it's fine. Go and enjoy yourself— it shouldn't be an issue if I stay and rest for a few minutes.
no subject
And there we go. She's strong though so his weight wasn't even a problem, and she assists him as he settles down.]
R-run diagnostics? [She's a bit puzzled, since that just makes it sound like he's a robot?! But shh.] It's fine, I can stay a while. I'll get wet a towel so you'll recover faster. The others are waiting for you too.
no subject
After settling on the couch, despite feeling some trepidation about the whole thing, he pulls down his collar and lets himself breathe more properly. Vietnam's already seen his messed-up face, he figures that she won't balk (and if she does, he can just zip his coat back up again). ]
...It's Tsunemori's birthday. [ He says this with a degree of strictness, with an air of finality, because this is Important. ] Make sure she doesn't fall on the ice, instead of spending her party here, with someone who can handle himself.
[ tsun translator: 'go make sure Akane's having fun because she's the important one today.' ]
no subject
She definitely doesn't balk (because yes, she's already seen it), opting to fan him with her hand instead now that his face is free.]
I don't think she would want someone down for the count. But really, just let me get it for you, I'm quick. [LOOK JUST REST PROPERLY she's beginning to feel like he's the type who will die for others as long as they're happy.
...oh wait.]
no subject
But god, laughs a little, laughs a lot. Adolf doesn't consider himself self-sacrificing— directionless, maybe, but certainly nothing as glamorous as magnanimous— so Vietnam is the paragon of selflessness to him, in this case.
He's exasperated, and it shows in the way his brows knit. But he's also grateful, and he closes his eyes to let her do what she wants. Because he figures 'no' isn't an option. ]
...Fine. [ And, well. Since that's just rude: ] ...Thanks.
no subject
That moment when they think the other is more selfless than they are?! God these two. But since he's given in, she looks a lot more pleasant. Patting his hand, she moves to leave.] You're welcome. I will be back, so rest for now.
[And off she goes, to get a wet towel. Which is a lot quicker than expected since seriously all she needed is a towel: there's sources of water everywhere?! But no she actually was pretty legit in soaking it up. It's warm water, but that's just to regulate.
Quietly, she creeps over to him in order to not disturb him (if he's even asleep) to place it gently on his forehead.]
no subject
The feeling of something warm against his forehead makes him crack one eye open, and a hand migrates over to press the wet towel a little more firmly over his skin. ]
I owe you. Again. [ People are too kind, he thinks. Like a kid, he doesn't want to be a burden; like a kid without a home, he's afraid of being accepted.
But this is nice, even if he feels guilty. Ah, what a mess— it must be because he's sick. ] ...Go skate. I'll be fine by the time you get back.
[ He'll try to sneak out, probably. ]
no subject
Sorry for disturbing you. [She helps him fix the towel before testing for his temperature again by placing her hand over his cheeks, a little more carefully over the one where half his face is ripped off?! It's still too early to tell, but she was hoping maybe the rest would've helped him a little bit.]
It's okay, you need not owe me anything, you're the one sick. [She then laughs awkwardly.] I do not know how to skate.
