[ So while you're walking about, enjoying or hating your day, you will encounter a dog. This dog will, as adorable corgis do, perform one of the following feats:

a.) Steal whatever you're holding for a game of Keep Away. Don't think that being tall will save you, he's got quite the spring in his hind legs.

b.) Drop whatever thing he's picked up (ball, wadded up paper, someone's high heel) and wait expectantly for you to play fetch with him.

c.) Bark. And roll over. This means love him.

d.) Trip you. It's probably unintentional.

Whatever he does, at least you'll hear two voices (familiar or not) clamoring in the distance for "Zweeeeeeeeeeeeeei!" and then Yang and Ruby will be heading in your direction at high speed.

Whatever you do, don't grab the dog and run. They may not know who you are, but they will find you. And they will kill you.

Or at least make you regret it. ]

[Nico ends up with option d. One moment, he's walking along, minding his own business, and the next, a dog is suddenly dashing right in front of him. Nico catches the dog with his foot and goes sprawling forward, twisting so he lands more or less on his ass, scraping his hands up a bit in the process.

He immediately glares daggers at the dog. What the hell?] Thanks a lot. [He grumbles the words out as he brushes his hands on his jeans, flinching at the slight sting it causes. He's just waiting for the dog to start growling at him like most animals usually do because of his aura that smells like death to them.]

[undaunts]

[Sorry. Zwei does seem a little perturbed by Nico's general aura and death-ness, but he's not growling yet. Instead, he tilts his head to one side, and then the next, as if trying to get a good read on Nico. As for Ruby--]

Zwei...! Zwei, wait...wait up...! [WHEEZE.]

[flaredo]

[ And along comes Yang, blinking slowly at the sight of a stranger. ]

Sorry-- you okay?

[zombiedude]

[Nico gets to his feet, watching the dog warily in case it lunges and tries to bite him. He looks over at two girls when they come up, raising an eyebrow.]

This belong to you two? [Both of them he remembers having conversations with before at some point or another, but he doesn't know them much at all beyond that.]

[undaunts]

Uh...

[Ruby's not sure she really appreciates the tone, especially with regards to Zwei, but ultimately she just shrugs.]

...Yes? His name's Zwei though. [Not "This".]

[flaredo]

C'mere, Zwei-- [ And she'll crouch down, clapping her hands to get the corgi to come over. ... Which he will, after sniffing a bit in Nico's direction. ]

[zombiedude]

[Nico raises an eyebrow down at the dog, tentatively holding a finger out for the dog to sniff if he wants, but ready to pull it away if need be. He's perfectly willing to be nice; he's just a bit disgruntled at being tripped, and he's used to animals having a negative reaction to him, so he's cautious.]

Nice to meet you, Zwei...?

[He flicks a glance up at the two girls before going back to watching Zwei hesitantly.] I don't think I've seen a real dog here before. Did he come with you when you arrived?

[undaunts]

[Zwei is probably the bravest corgi to ever live, if only because he's a combat corgi. So he'll sniff thoughtfully at Nico, curious.]

Yep! He came with me, because he likes me better.

[Don't be a shit, Ruby.]

[flaredo]

... Excuse you.

[zombiedude]

He belongs to both of you?

[undaunts]

Yep! He's our family.

[A beat.]

I mean, Yang's my sister, soooo...

[flaredo]

So we have joint custody!

[ Simple as that. ]

[zombiedude]

[Ah. Sisters.]

I'm sure you appreciate being here together.

Is he usually a handful?

[undaunts]

We do... I don't know what I'd do if Yang wasn't here!

[She'll admit that much easily.]

But Zwei's usually not too bad... I think he was just tired of being cooped up, since so many weird things happened all at once.

[flaredo]

Yeah... normally he's fine just chilling at home. He loves to play, though.

[ Poor cooped-up puppy. ]

[zombiedude]

[He has a moment of missing his own sisters, but then he brushes the feeling away.]

Don't want him getting out when CERES is up to their usual stuff and messing around with us, huh? [That's understandable.] It's probably hard keeping him happy and safe at the same time.

[undaunts]

Wellllll... Zwei can handle just about anything.

It's more like... Cerealia might not be ready for Zwei.

[Combat corgi!!]

[flaredo]

Let's be real, though, they'll never be ready for Zwei.

[ Who is so pumped to take on CERES, don't you know. ]

[zombiedude]

[He raises an eyebrow at that.]

Is there something... unique about him compared to other dogs?

[undaunts]

Wellllll... I don't know if it's unique, buuuut...

[And then, with great aplomb:]

He's a Combat Corgi!

[Zwei barks happily.]

[flaredo]

Yep! He can take on monsters with the best of 'em.

[ Much pride. ]

[zombiedude]

[A... what?]

What... does a combat corgi do, exactly? [He's assuming fight stuff, but he doesn't know if there's more to it than that."]

[undaunts]

Well... sometimes he comes with us on missions!

And he can fight Grimm too! Or, you know, turn into a ball of flaming corgi death in the hands of our professor, apparently.

[flaredo]

... [ She doesn't remember that, but she'll take Ruby's word for it. Ah, canon points. ]

So he can totally hold his own.

[zombiedude]

That must be a sight... [He's kind of hoping that the ball of flaming death isn't literally...] but that must be a relief for you too, knowing you don't have to worry about him so much.
