For those unlucky saps who disappear today, ranging from early in the morning towards the middle of the afternoon, well...they can't be reached by CereVice.
Any attempt to do so will bounce back the message User Currently Occupied.
It's an odd message, and one that's never been used by the CereVice. How strange. It's probably nothing though, right? No contact can be established between groups or from groups to outside people in Cerealia, whether by technology or magic. You're cut off from everyone but those in your groups, now.
Otherwise, all abilities will remain intact.
As for the people who do disappear, well... things get a little hairy really quickly.

There is no tagging order, so feel free to tag in whatever way works best for you as a group.
The characters should not ICly be gone longer than 5 hours -- if they survive, of course. There will be mod involvement in each of the threads.
If there are any questions, feel free to ask them here. Please try to avoid asking hypothetical questions (such as "What will happen if my character does [action]?") as that's part of the fun and risk of the interlude! You are welcome to plot with your groupmates in this post. Thank you!

In fact, the entire building is very quaint. It has a bed, and a place to sit, and is, in general, clearly a place to rest and relax. It's not very lived-in, though well-taken care of; if anyone stays there, it's very rarely.
There are notes on the bedside dresser, stacked there neatly, this time on paper. ]

[ Whoops. No but really, he's not super fond of people normally. So he can kind of understand where Viridi is coming from. When she flops her weight into his arms more solidly, he doesn't hold it against her, simply adjusting his hold. ]
Some diet. I doubt whatever being is here will care. All we can really hope is that it's not out for blood sacrifice.
[ Way to be, Trowa. Still, he can't help but be nervous as they enter the building. ]

[ SHE'S BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, more times than she's ever wanted to deal with. But wow, what a weirdly peaceful place. She almost feels bad about being here, but there are notes to be read, and so Otome is going to shift her hold on the fox and walk over to the dresser to look at them. ]
Honestly... I wish I did know what they want. It would make things a lot less confusing.
no subject
[This is totally reassuring. ...Anyway, given that she's essentially a child now, Viridi doesn't mind acting in childish ways. She'll tug at Trowa's arm as they enter the oddly peaceful room and take stock of their surroundings.]
I wanna lie on the bed.
[It's probably not a deadly trap that will impale her on spikes. Probably.]
And I'll take Mr. Fox if you guys want to look around. If we've come all this way, we should get everything we can.
[She holds out her arms. If Otome hands it over, the first thing she'll do is hug the adorable critter.]
no subject
[ So reassuring. Though something about what Otome says also resonates with him, even if it's just humans pitting thesemlves against each other where he's from. Endless war. What a joke.
At Viridi's behest, he walks over to the bed, not having to crouch too much to set her on it. ] Try not to stand too fast if you do get up. Nausea can lead to dizziness.
[ And then he's going to join Otome in the search through the papers. ]

It's a perfectly comfortable bed and Viridi can absolutely rest there. Otome and Trowa will find that the notes are in a mix of languages; one of them can't be read, and bears a startling resemblance to what might have been heard in the jungle from the natives if any of them were there to experience that.
But the rest will be caught and translated by their implants.
They appear to be notes on the meeting held in that conference room before, written in an elegant hand. The notes detail that CERES' terms are steep as ever, but in order to accomplish their (the writer's) goals, it may be necessary. The date on the notes puts them as written just yesterday. ]

Who's the cutest foxy? Who's the cutest? Yes you are, yes you are~ Don't worry, Mr. Foxy! I won't let anything happen to you.
[pet pet pet...
squish squish...
cuddle cuddle...
Look she already helped earlier OK you guys can handle reading some papers without her.]
no subject
[Don't what? That's all the fox is saying, otherwise basically just letting her have her way with him.
Cuddles are comforting anyway, right? And he doesn't have the energy to struggle.]
no subject
We may not want to linger. This was dated yesterday, and there's no actual guarantee whoever wrote this isn't going to come back soon enough and welcome uninvited guests.
no subject
In any case, he's reading through the papers on the dresser, frowning at the mention of terms and goals. And how they might be "necessary". That was almost never a good sign. Even less so here, where they know so little about the underside of Cerealia. ]
Whoever it is was purposely vague. Maybe they knew someone would find it.
[ Mosley? He's still not sure if he's to be trusted. ] With all the commotion they might show up soon.
[ Leaving the papers alone, he's going to do a quick sweep of the room, to see if there's anything else useful before checking for any other hidden exits. ]

At least, this is what happens in her version of reality which is markedly different from actual reality.]
no subject
Viridi, are you feeling up to walking, or would you like Trowa to carry you again?
no subject
[She frowns slightly as she sits up and tentatively pokes at the floor with a foot.]
I mean, it's not like I don't know how to walk. ...It was just mostly optional. I'll probably be fine.
Where to?
no subject
[ And if no one's got any objections, Otome will usher them all outside to do just that. Shall we take this nice path that probably won't lead to our untimely demise?? ]
no subject
Hopefully this path leads to an exit. That would be nice and maybe wishful thinking. ]
▶ CHECKPOINT FINAL.SAV
. . . CONTINUING ESCAPE.EXE. . .
[ It's really a surprisingly pleasant walk. The path is leafy, green, and actually quite airy. It's not cold or warm, and nothing jumps out at them or tries to kill them.
In fact, it's all quite pleasant until they round the corner and there's a woman there.
She's very ethereal, and clearly not entirely human, if she ever was -- and when she sees them, her eyes widen, and then narrow dangerously. This seems safe. ]
no subject
The fox is cradled in her arms carefully because it loves her forever and will never leave.
The moment they round the corner and spot the woman, though, she freezes.]
Is that... Occidi? Are you Occidi?
[She doesn't look like she's an earth goddess. Where are all the requisite floral motifs?]
no subject
I'm sorry if we're intruding. We're just trying to find a way out.
no subject
Shhh.
Do not...speak that name.
Not here. Not ever.
[ She turns her attention to Otome. ]
But... do you know too much...? I wonder...
no subject
Not enough. We just want to find the exit, though.
no subject
Apparently, we don't know anything if we didn't even end up in the right shrine.
[Now is probably not the time to be cheeky.]
no subject
[ And this she says steadily enough. ]
I don't know what "too much" information would be, but I'm really not interested in learning more. Not now.
no subject
I...do not believe you.
[ And then she steps a few paces forward.
That's all it takes, really; the implants in their eyes and brains will temporarily short out due to the proximity to her, knocking them unconscious. It won't kill them, thankfully; they'll just be unconscious. When they wake up, they will find that they are in the middle of the street in the Entertainment District, next to a manhole that they cannot get open.
They will all have blindness in their left eyes for 2 IC days, as well as a tendency towards vertigo and nausea of various levels of severity, ranging from very little to vomiting.
After that, they'll all go back to normal. Viridi's god-like powers and abilities will slowly trickle back to her over the course of 3 IC days, until she's back to her normal self as well. Congrats, probably! ]
