[ he certainly is taking it seriously. Zara pauses for a moment, examing Yata's solemn expression... then, without any word of warning, moves his alcohol-dabbing from Yata's arm to the cuts on his face. It's tough love, all right? ]

Very noble. Perhaps you could try protecting yourself, as well?

[rollin]

[ And he winces. ]

Gently!

[ But it's true. He is the type who'd recklessly throw himself into any situation to be a hero. This time has more to do with his bad luck and stupidity, though... ]

If I'm any gentler, I'll have to stop touching you at all, Yata.

[ he speaks gently, as if dealing with a small child. It's totally meant as teasing. ]

[ He knows that tone but he's so used to it from Totsuka and Izumo that he just rolls with it. ]

Aah, jeez. If I were a half-animal person, I'd wanna be a starfish. Then I could grow my limbs back and I'd never haveta to do this!

[rollin]

But I wouldn't have badass claws...

[ He is regretting this now. ]

[ what nonsense are you spouting, Yata. Starfish people? That's not dateable at all!! Not allowed.

Actually, though, Zara just shakes his head again, unsure if he should be offended or laughing. The former's not worth the effort. ]

Try not to lose any limbs - I'll have a much more difficult time cleaning you up.

[rollin]

I'll do my best!

[ So he's leaving room for error... in case he gets a cool robot arm out of it. ]

Hey, which one of these do you think'll make a cool battle scar?

[ He points at his face, hoping one of his wounds makes him look like a certain samurai. ]

[ he's beginning to think Yata is younger than he first assumed. Zara leans back, finished, and drops the used towelette into a nearby bin. ]

None of those are deep enough to give you a scar. Unfortunately, you'll just look a little silly for a week or so, then heal up. [ shaking his head. ] You don't really want a scar, do you?

[rollin]

[ At least he'll never go under the assumed age of three. That's the threshold... Yata attempts to fold his arms, the gesture uncomfortable at places where his skin stretches. ]

Tch, lame. Guess it's fine... I don't wanna make 'em worry.

[sewayaku]

[ he crosses his arms, giving Yata one more look-over. It would be nice if he could cover up all the cuts, too, but honestly, Zara doesn't think it's worth it to cover him in bandaids. ]

That may be impossible for you... [ a small sigh. ] In any case, you're all finished. Do be more careful next time.

[rollin]

[ Springing back onto his feet, he expresses his gratitude with a toothy grin. ]

Thanks, Zara! I will. Oh yeah, I heard that ice cream place was selling carrot flavor now. You should check it out!

[ ... That's not a joke. He honestly believes Zara will like it. ]

I gotta go. I'll letcha know when I see Fiona, aight?

[ well... he's not wrong?! Zara's never even heard of carrot-flavored ice cream, and while it sounds weird, it doesn't necessarily sound bad. He may actually go try that later.

For the time being, though, he merely smiles a little tiredly, offering a small bow to Yata. ]

It's merely my job. Have a nice day - and thank you for keeping an eye out for her.
