[Why does he have to say that? Why does he have to be the killjoy, the one saying the words that nobody else wants to hear?

It's because nobody else wants to hear it.

Nonetheless, an honest question deserves an honest answer.]

Because were I to be in your situation-- [because he has been, had been, with his best friend--] ... I would likely react the same way.

[...but it's dangerous. You can't go back, when things are the way they are.]

[...Of course? Is that the way it is? He's not sure, honestly. In a way, the fact that he's constantly around Tenka in Cerealia means that Sousei isn't entirely certain that he ever really entirely processed the fact that his best friend basically came back from the dead.

Of course, it's different for him than it is for Yata--for Sousei, going home isn't the end of that strange gift, because Tenka will still be there too.

But if he weren't, would he be able to say that Yata is entirely wrong, and would he be able to act any differently?]

...Fine. [At the very least, he does have to respect Yata's willpower.] Carry that certainty with you, then. No matter the outcome of this, remain standing with your head held high.

[If you can do that...? Then he has no right to lecture at all, and he won't.]

You don't have to--

[Tell him that.........

... ... ... Is this kid capable of standing still????

He's still not sure that Yata will be prepared when the inevitable time comes and he has to part with Totsuka again, but... for now, he can't think about that. Rather, it is not entirely his responsibility (shouldn't be, at all), and so...

Well, it's not like he could do anything if he wanted to, Yata's already gone!!!

What a weirdo.]
