[open] who run the world
Who: ALL THE SINGLE LADIES + any crashers! Anyone is welcome if they hear the noise or just want to join in! (Feel free to assume that someone invited them!)
When: 12/12 ICly.
Where: Athena and Ryuko's apartment.
What: Ryuko wanted to do more girly things, so Athena decides to invite every girl she knows to their place for sleepover.
Rating/Warning: Will update if needed.
[ SLEEPOVER!!!!!!!!!
Athena has been excited for this for a few days now, and has been trying to get Ryuko to be as psyched as she is, but that sure didn't work.
Either way, a sleepover is happening at their place! There's five mattresses laid out on the living room floor (She's not sure how many are coming but she borrowed five from the gym, anyway), already set up with their own sheets. The pillows are stacked by the wall—there's really a lot of them—and some blankets by a small coffee table. The mattresses are pretty big that it could fit 3-4 people to sleep on them.
There's a projector sitting on the living room too, just in case people brought movies with them, conveniently facing the wall. (Probably just link the CereVice to it and it'll show whatever's playing on the CereVice, too.) OR IF YOU HAVE A KARAOKE APP...
Athena brought in some desserts from the cosplay cafe, so there's a lot of pastries. From three different kinds of cake (chocolate, strawberries and creme, and blueberry cheesecake); to red velvet cupcakes; to a buttload of macarons of all sorts of flavours; there really are a lot of sweets. if you arrive early, you might realise that it's just sweets, a bunch of chips, and soda bottles set on the table.
Where's the real food? Archer said he'll have Saber bring it with her, so that's a thing! And Athena thought they could order some delivery, too. Just so everyone gets to eat something they want. Oddly enough, there's also a plate of salt and lime on the table. Hmm, what for?
Well, no one has to look that hard enough for the reason. There's a couple of bottles of tequila and some shot glasses badly hidden in one of the cupboards, so pretty much everybody can see those. If anyone wants to startbody shots drinking with people, then Athena won't stop them. It's a party! And law school gets just as crazy sometimes. Lord knows how much Athena wanted to try and socialise with her fellow budding lawyers, but was just awkward to do so. Thankfully, she's much better at breaking out of her shell now, otherwise, this party wouldn't even be happening. If there's anyone who tries drinking and they look like they shouldn't be (LOOKING AT YOU, MABEL), then Athena will come over and scold them like a mom.
So what else are you waiting for? Come in and take off your shoes, and make yourself comfortable! The bathroom is just down the hall, if you want to change into your jammies.
Let's get this thing started! ]
[ ooc: feel free to make top-levels for certain activities. just mark them with what the activity is in the subject! of course, feel free to set up different prompts for your character, too. post as many activities as you want. the more the merrier!
here is a sample if you ever need to see what I mean!SOMEONE START A SPIN THE BOTTLE/I'VE NEVER GAME.
to anyone not invited but want to tag in: seriously, go ahead! feel free to have your character complain about the noise or check in on the girlsif your name is phoenix wright or simon blackquill. there are some girls who athena didn't invite because she doesn't know them, but if they know anyone in the party then they might have been invited by that friend! IF THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A WAY!!! All the ladies and Zura get in! ]

[She's definitely not dressed to stay, hanging uncomfortably by the wall. Occasionally she grimaces and touches at the bruising on her throat, and generally looks fairly uncertain about being here at all.
After a moment she turns to face the wall and bumps her forehead against it a few times with a ragged sigh.] This was a stupid idea.
[B]
[At some point Mio can be found hovering around the dessert table, picking at sweets occasionally. She's got a cup of soda in one hand, and a plate of chips and a slice of cake in the other and for the first tie since she got there looks a little pleased. At least something good came from this, even if she's determined to see herself out after an appropriate amount of time has passed.
But something--some loud noise, or something--startles her into, well. Dropping everything. And flinging her drink in the process, probably into someone's face. Sorry!
Mio stares in horror and yelps, immediately grabbing for napkins and trying to salvage the situation.] I-I'm sorry! I'll clean it up!
[C]
[obligatory wildcard option. Maybe you catch Mio as she attempts to sneak out, or looking like she wants to join some game or group, but completely unable to make herself actually join it. Or maybe you'll go for the nosy option of wanting to ask about the neck bruises or something. Anything goes!]
b;
She smiles a bit sheepishly.]
It's okay! I... I think I saw some towels in the closet over there that might work better...
Uh, wanna come with me?
no subject
Towels? I--Yes, I guess so. [She gestures for Leia to lead the way, but quickly adds:] It's my fault, so you don't have to clean up or anything too!
no subject
Leia looks back on occasion to make sure she hasn't lost her.]
Don't worry so much. I can guarantee there are others here making a much bigger mess than you.
[said as they reach the closet. She opens it and reaches inside, pulling out two rather small ones; and she offers one to Mio.]
no subject
I should probably go home after this, honestly. I'm sorry for causing trouble. [It's a good excuse as any to bolt.] I don't think these kinds of situations are for me...
no subject
As she thinks about this (and where the bathroom might be), she turns to Mio, eyes widened and just a bit pleading. She'd hate to be the final straw that urges her to leave.]
Awww, don't leave yet. I didn't even get your name.
[...]
You're just a little overwhelmed, that's all.
no subject
[But Leia's right about one thing, they don't know each others' names at all. Feeling a little embarrassed for not doing it earlier, she bows politely.] Amakura Mio. Pleased to meet you. Sorry, I didn't even think to introduce myself before.
no subject
I'm Leia. Pleased to meet you, too.
[She glances around one more time and gestures for her to follow.]
Come on! I think I have an idea.
no subject
Um-- An idea? [Mio echoes her, not knowing what else to say, and she follows because-- Well, because she's curious and it's something to do.] Where are we going?
no subject
[Her offer seems earnest, and she sounds kind of excited.]
I'm not super great at it, but it would get you away from the crowd for a while. What do you say?
no subject
[Still, it doesn't sound terrible. She even smiles a little!] ...Sure, why not? It could be fun. Besides, even if you do a bad job, it'll wash off right?
no subject
That's the spirit.
[The smile helps.]
To be honest, I've never done my own makeup before, but I've always wanted to try it. We can learn together.

a!
So!! Approaching with some measure of caution, in the same way one might do with an easily startled baby animal...]
Miss? Are you all right?
Re: a!
I, er... sorry, yes? I'm fine? [Why does it sound like she's asking then. Her shoulders slump] I don't like being alone at these things...
no subject
Instead, she just gets a look of mild concern. Eying her forehead... Hopefully that won't bruise later, or she's going to have one more thing to be terminally embarrassed about. But the look shifts into one of mild surprise soon after, and Kaoru casts a backwards glance into the room.]
Oh— Do you not know anyone here?
no subject
Mio follows Kaoru's gaze around the room and shakes her head.] Not really. Someone told me about it, and said I should go... I don't know why I didn't just refuse. But I just-- [her hand clenches reflexively, as if to grasp something--or someone's hand--and then she crosses her arms over her chest
I don't mind that part, not knowing anyone. I'm just used to... someone else being here too. [Jeez how vague and cryptic can she sound? Annoyed with herself, she clarifies:] I'm here, but my sister isn't.
no subject
Though it's more of a negative than a positive (like it's usually a positive??) now, considering the lack of Chizuru currently present in Cerealia. Kaoru's expression shifts into one of understanding, brow furrowed just so, hands folding together in a reflexively anxious gesture.]
Ah— I understand. It must be difficult for you, especially if the two of you are close. [AS ALL TWINS CLEARLY SHOULD BE.]
Still, perhaps meeting new people and starting a few conversations would be a good way to lift your spirits for a while.
no subject
[Well, Mio supposes she'll have to get used to that part now. Whoops. Don't kill your twin, Kaoru, it won't make you happy. Okay maybe it'll make you happy, but--]
I guess... [She doesn't look very enthused about the idea though. ] Uh, sorry. I appreciate the help. [Trying to be polite, she bows and introduces herself] I'm Amakura Mio.
no subject
There's no need to apologize. It's only a suggestion and it may not be one that's perfect for you... No one can truly fill the gap that a missing sibling leaves. [But Kaoru returns the bow politely regardless, offering a smile.]
Either way, it's good to meet you Amakura-san. My name is Nagumo Kaoru. You could start by speaking to me, if you'd like.
no subject
No one can truly fill the gap that a missing sibling leaves. Ouch. Her heart aches as her bruises throb and she swallows hard. Despite her best efforts, her voice still comes out a little strained]
Good to meet you too, Nagumo-san. Thank you for being so kind. [Except now she has no idea what to talk about] You're from Japan? [She assumes, anyhow.]
no subject
Responding to that strain in her voice, Kaoru's overall body language shifts and softens and becomes something that's open and reassuring.]
I am, yes - though it may be from a time before your own. [Even though Kaoru is dressed as any modern person, that seems a good topic to kick off from. A little more involved than simply talking about home, but not too personal.]
The year was 1864 for me, but most of the people that I've met here are from 2000 or later.
no subject
It was 1988 for me. Are there really people here from 2000 or later? I can't even imagine. I keep thinking of jetpacks and living in space or something.
no subject
That's correct. It's a little strange to consider it as history for some... [But Kaoru doesn't seem to ruffled over it, really.]
Ah, but I believe you're the first person I've met from a year just a little before 2000. It almost seems like everyone is either very far into the future or from about the same time period as myself. [A beat, and then:] Living in space does seem to be accurate, at least.

Are you... okay..? [He understands that girl sleepovers are literally the worst but it's weird seeing a girl not enjoying herself at one.]
no subject
[But Mio shifts uncomfortably and her posture slumps] I've never been to something like this before.
