[All right, so it's a few days later than intended, but when the night that you plan a party just completely disappears into a mess of mayhem and murderous Santas, well, you improvise. At least, that's been Komaeda's plan. After making sure to let everyone know about the rescheduling, it's just a matter of coordinating.

So here it is. Here they are.

The decorations -- courtesy of Souda -- are up: streamers, balloons, matching party hats all in varying shades of red, black and white. They're draped around the small apartment along with what is probably an oversupply of party poppers. The food is set out in the kitchen and most everywhere else.

There's even a punchbowl that's probably not spiked yet, but how long can that really last anyway? Music -- somewhat questionable in some of its variety -- plays quietly in the background. And outside the apartment, up on the roof of the building for later, the yakuza have provided some festive explosives fireworks.

Perfect night for a party. And Hinata's the kind of guy who deserves a good party. Right? Right. Only rules are: no murdering anyone and have some fun.]

Yeah, I am. [Well...technically, they weren't TRULY classmates but fuck it. They are in his book after all that island bullshit.] Did you arrive in the same group as him then?

No, he arrived a few weeks before, I believe. But he was around the city at the time, because things were once again acting strangely.

[Criminal "misprogramming", hm..... It's too vague and/or too many things have happened that are similar for him to be entirely sure that's the correct one, isn't this a sad life they lead.]

...Perhaps that one. It has been approximately 4 and a half months. When we arrived, we were accused of crimes we did not commit and were hunted down by assassin robots.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. I keep hearing about that one more than any of the other glitches that came before I did.

Yes, well... that one was different due to the fact that it happened in Cerealia itself, not in ViViD. Many of the dangerous glitches that followed it were in the virtual reality, and thus less dangerous overall.

Really? Hinata mentioned that his involved ViViD, but I didn't realize that was...normal for a while. I've only experienced and heard about shit that happened outside of it so far.

[That's kind of...uh...a concerning trend, possibly?]

It is strange. [He'll freely admit that.] In ViViD, such things can be blamed on... glitches, and the like. [He's been studying and studying and studying, but he is still... from 1871. These sorts of things are foreign on his tongue.]

However, for incidents that happen within the city itself, that can no longer be the cause. Those assassin robots were sent after us with purpose, and by choice.
