[All right, so it's a few days later than intended, but when the night that you plan a party just completely disappears into a mess of mayhem and murderous Santas, well, you improvise. At least, that's been Komaeda's plan. After making sure to let everyone know about the rescheduling, it's just a matter of coordinating.
So here it is. Here they are.
The decorations -- courtesy of Souda -- are up: streamers, balloons, matching party hats all in varying shades of red, black and white. They're draped around the small apartment along with what is probably an oversupply of party poppers. The food is set out in the kitchen and most everywhere else.
There's even a punchbowl that's probably not spiked yet, but how long can that really last anyway? Music -- somewhat questionable in some of its variety -- plays quietly in the background. And outside the apartment, up on the roof of the building for later, the yakuza have provided some festiveexplosives fireworks.
Perfect night for a party. And Hinata's the kind of guy who deserves a good party. Right? Right. Only rules are: no murdering anyone and have some fun.]
((ooc: so yes, mingle around! post top levels, tag others. the party will start in the apartment and hit the roof at some point, so pick your location(s) too, if you like!))

[After his luck -- and of course he's blaming his luck for it -- ruined the party the first night it was scheduled by somehow losing that night entirely. Well, Komaeda is extra determined to salvage it all and make it a party to remember! Hinata deserves it! Really deserves it, and for once he doesn't want to be the reason that something is ruined.
He's bustled about for the past few days and now he's perched on the arm of the couch. He's smiling, but there's a nervousness about him somehow like he's sure his luck will pop up again. But anyone who happens by close enough will get a brighter smile and a,] Everything seems to be going well, doesn't it? Hopefully nothing really terrible happens. [Is that a weird, creepy thing to say? Oops. ...he's got a history, okay? But he's got nothing planned except partying this time! Really!]
On the roof
[Komaeda is staying away from the fireworks. Partially because he doesn't feel like making anyone nervous by his being in proximity. But partially because he makes himself nervous in proximity.
He is, however, leaning at the edge of the room, leaning against the ledge and looking down, thoughtfully.] I wonder if we should have gotten a permit for this. Ah well. Hopefully no one gets arrested. [Now is not the time to be thinking of this. Yay fireworks!]
no subject
Nobody's gonna get arrested. I took care of it.
[Whether that means he got a permit or he found out that permits aren't necessary in the colony is a mystery. It's definitely one of those two options though, not something as shady as one would think "I took care of it" means.]
[Or well...as shady as Kuzuryuu would like one to think. He totally did something illicit, you don't even know.]

Someone is talking to him, and it's... it's another kid. Yeah he's definitely out of place here, he definitely needs to go home. He showed up for Hinata's sake, but... an adult surrounded by kids is just not a good thing in any situation, but especially not a party.
But right.

[He had been under the impression that this was just going to be a New Year's Eve party, hadn't been allowed to help set up anything or even buy stuff for it, gosh-- so when Hinata'd come in to see all of, well, everything, it was probably a novel scene. Surely him gaping and wide-eyed isn't something that happens every day.
He's still reeling a little and feeling all emotional (even his own birthday had slipped his mind with all that shit happening thanks murdersantas and murderelves and murderreindeers) as he wanders around the apartment and just... seems to be looking at everything. Give it time and he'll jump into the party proper.
He hasn't been finagled into a party hat, though, someone should fix that.
He is looking somewhat bemused though, at the music choices and the decoration choices... hah... as expected of his friends......]

This's been really fun.

Which is probably why his greeting is wholly out of place.]

why is he blushingOf course, Hinata could have chosen to ignore that because it's his birthday, fuck thepoliceyakuza. Or he could have listened. The choice is his.][Though regardless of whether or not he waits, his present is going to be the same thing: two boxes. Inside one is an earthenware saké set, glazed in muted oranges and browns. Just below the neck of the battle is a small, black phoenix painted in ink strokes. This same design can be found on the inside bottom of each of the cups. Inside the other box is a bottle of high quality saké. Because you're not in high school anymore and if you're gonna drink, you may as well drink the good stuff. Friends don't let friends drink cheap saké. Though this may also be a response to Hinata's Christmas note. Sure, he's still not crazy about drinking alcohol but...if it's with Hinata, it's okay.]
[But enough of that, GETTING BACK TO THE ROOF NOW. Eventually Kuzuryuu entrusts firework duty to Peko for a bit so he can take a break. And what better way to do that than to hang out with birthday boy again?]

[ As per usual, Kyouko arrives to the party a few minutes late. Since she was invited by Naegi and had been caught up to speed on everything, it was important to her to get to know everyone else.
Still, she's never been an especially talkative person so she ends up standing on the outskirts of the room, watching everyone. ]
the roof;
[ By the time the party moves to the rooftop, she's a little more relaxed. She even lights a small firework or two.
At one point, she has an unlit sparkler, and she looks for the nearest person that doesn't have one, holding it out to them. ]
Do you want one?

You do not happen to have something to light this with, do you?

[There was no way Gundam was going to miss Hinata's party, Hell Santa and rescheduling be damned. So he's here, acting like he normally does at every party. Which means standing off to the side, watching everyone and sneaking food to his hamsters.
Although he's wallflowering, he actually seems pretty comfortable and pleased with the environment. Like, is that a small smile that might be on his face, rather than his constant scowl? Wow! Amazing!
This is a pretty small gathering, not too many people...so it's not so bad. Plus, he knows most of them and that's always a good thing. Even if it is his class and this is a party.]
On the roof!
[Who was the genius who decided on fireworks? No, honestly, this is a serious question! Because this is a pretty enjoyable activity. Even if he is watching from a particularly safe distance away from where they're being set off. But he's sitting back and enjoying the show, offering friendly enough nods to people who pass - even Souda wow - and even going so far as to try and start conversation sometimes.]
This is an excellent display, isn't it? I believe even King Asmodeus would be impressed by this fire power.
[What a conversationalist.]
roof!
[Is this someone here in Cerealia?? Peko had been standing nearby with her arms crossed, watching both the person lighting the fireworks, and then following the trail of the firework into the sky, when Gundam had spoken. Have a mystified glance toward him, because while she likes to try to keep herself appraised of new arrivals, she hasn't heard of many "kings."]

[What a nice birthday party. Fortunately, Peko didn't take any of Athena's board game suggestions (Twister and Pin-The-Tail-On-Hinata being chief among them), meaning her only real contribution was helping Kuzuryuu with the fireworks. No reason for her to bake something when the SHSL
CookChef was going to be in attendance. What she did bring for the party as a whole are several cutely-decorated Western sweets: cookies, cupcakes, parfaits and the like. Peko really doesn't seem the type for such cute things... does she? If questioned, she flushes lightly and stammers out a,]

rooftop
[Thankfully the other yakuza was able to figure out a good event for them all, so Peko can be found near Kuzuryuu, occasionally letting off a few of the fireworks to let him take a break. She looks strangely intense as she lights them, though, as if she's concentrating very hard to make sure absolutely nothing could go wrong. This is Hinata's party, after all, and she doesn't want to mess it up!!]
Celebrating the New Year like this... is not so bad, I think.

[As far as the indoor half of the party goes goes, Kuzuryuu has nothing to contribute. He showed up a little early to help with setup, but since then he's just kind of been hanging out. Occasionally snacking but weirdly enough not touching any of the drinks. Not even the punch.]
Roof
[The roof however, is a different story. This part is his contribution, after all. So for most of the time, he'll be setting off the fireworks with Peko. Because, sorry, but he doesn't trust most of you not to accidentally blow something or yourselves up if you're given anything more than a sparkler. Especially if alcohol ended up being involved at any point during this party. Please let's not go to the hospital tonight, guys.]
[Though there will be times where he takes a break to watch instead of lighting things up, leaning against the wall by the stairwell. He might even be smiling a little, holy shit.]
roof.
But Tenka doesn't want to leave as early as humanly possible, and then... there are the fireworks. Sousei crosses his arms, backing up as well to find a convenient wall to lean against, and it's not that he doesn't notice Kuzuryuu, but he doesn't want to interrupt the show to open his mouth.
So it takes him a few moments more, until there's a brief lull, and then he glances over, considering.]

[It's a bit late into the party when Souda finally arrives. Despite being the totally awesome decorator of this event, he had to retreat to bring in his gift to Hinata. And... boy is it something.
He doesn't enter the apartment when he arrives, but the guests can definitely hear his arrival with a loud horn blaring outside. And when they exit the building to inspect the noise, they'll spot Souda in his brightly coloured glory with... a motorcycle beside him and a large grin on his face. It looks something akin to this, double seating included. Though the engine looks rather large, indicating that it's a beast on the road. And it's coupled with red LED lights that light the wheels like so, and painted decor that makes the vehicle look as though it was shot multiple times on one side. And.. is that seriously a cupholder near the handlebars? Who even needs a cupholder on a motorcycle...
Either way, he's been working on this bad boy for over a week now and looks absolutely proud of his work. The colours of the bike make sense of the Monokuma-esque theme inside the apartment, doesn't it?]
Roof.
[It is later into the night and Souda is found sitting by himself with a sparkler in hand, looking a bit disinterested as he plays around with it. He'll sigh a bit and if he notices someone approach, give them a bit of a disappointed smile.]
Kinda sucks that we couldn't've done this on the first, right? It would've been nice if this were a more traditional New Year's party... with lots of cute girls in kimono. [Keep dreaming, Souda.]
But, I guess this is pretty nice too, huh?
