Quatre - Intro Log Overflow OOC: 7/22 || IC: 2/08
--> Mary
Of course. Extra careful.
[Quatre offers up as reassuring a smile as he can manage. Really, she seems like such a sweet girl.]
Though you'll be careful too. Even if you're more used to this place, you should be.
[Stay away from the nurses, Mary. They are not your friends.]

[ SHE TRIES. ]

[Or. Dare he ask.]
...or weirder?
no subject
[ a nod. ]
There was someone on fire with a... saw, once.

--> IV
[Technology makes enough sense to Quatre. He may not be quite at the level of certain other pilots he knows, but at least he's following along.
A nod, thoughtful.]
Is it a terrestrial colony? Or are we in orbit? [...that is only an important detail to him, he just hasn't realized that yet. He's just wondering how much like home it is.]
It seems so. The virtual reality is impressive, if a little intimidating. It's hard to tell it isn't real -- except for the strangeness anyway.
no subject
[Thanks to his prior experience with augmented reality, stretching his imagination a little more to embrace virtual reality of this level wasn't too difficult. The stimulus filter helps knock down some of the realism.]
Anyway, it's terrestrial. We're on the planet Tellus. But why do you ask? Is it that important?
no subject
[Get used to it. He'll work on that. Clearly this ViViD thing is an important part of life here with this craziness and everything he's heard about it.
At the next question, his expression turns faintly sheepish.]
I guess it's mostly curiosity. I was wondering if it was like home. Maybe some little bit of familiarity wouldn't be so bad. But
no subject
[And the idea of small talk isn't so bad, either. First things first, IV reopens the door for them to empty back out into the hallway.]
Let's go. You can tell me about it while we're walking.

--> Anna
Ah..? Weren't you saying it was good for morale? I'm getting mixed messages.
[Quatre muses, as though he's really seriously giving this some thought, but the smile that's threatening his face betrays him and he purposefully takes a step back.]
I'll do my best not to though. It's not exactly polite to keep hugging a girl I don't know. I'm sure at least some of my sisters would have some scolding to do about it.
no subject
[That and coming from an old fashioned lifestyle, she wasn't exactly sure if being hugged by a random boy would be the best thing to do.]
Don't worry, you're not the only one. I don't think my sister would be pretty concerned about seeing me being hugged by a random person!
no subject
[So really he's trying.] As she should be, I think. But I'll really do my best to keep it from happening again.
[And actually while he's trying that, he should remember the rest of his manners.] It would probably be polite to introduce myself, wouldn't it? I'm Quatre. Quatre Raberba Winner. [Pleased to meet you sorry he hugged you first.]
no subject
[That and Elsa wasn't really there during those times with Kristoff so...it may or may not count. But either way...!]
Then it's nice to meet you, the name's Anna! And I definitely think you'll be a sure winner after how I met you! [...Anna, no]

--> Naoki
People shouldn't have to learn like this...
[People should be able to live their lives in peace. Gosh. But well, at least some people are that type? That's good to hear. Quatre will at least stop lamenting the lost chance for normal, peaceful lives for people.]
Glitches?
[First time he has heard that word; he does not yet know how much he will grow to hate it.]
Ah... are you? I wonder though. All this talk about code, the fact that we're in a virtual reality... maybe we're already the duplicates. [That is not a comforting thought and he's quick to smile, shaking his head.] Sorry. I'm sure that's ridiculous as well.
no subject
I dunno. You can do all kinds of things with technology.
[He shakes his head.]
no subject
I suppose so. I wonder if there's any way of finding out.
[Espionage. That is his long term plan apparently. As of now.]
no subject
[NOT SO ESPIONAGE... but Naoki's smile is dry, so he's probably joking.]
I don't know. We've got a lotta theories, but not a lot of hard proof of anything yet.

--> Makoto
[Quatre is unaware of that particular motivation to run from the monster. But it's a good one. He'd totally agree with it. As it is, he's motivated enough. A shake of his head, and the blond offers another faint smile back to him.]
You won't. I'm sure of it.
[Quatre will make sure that they manage this together. But oh. Trap door. The warning has the blond drawing up short and he frowns, glancing down.] ...if we're going to back track we should do it quickly.
[Before the creature catches up. ...and nope he can't fly, and there's no way he's leaping across that either -- not in this gravity anyway.]
no subject
for a moment, he's almost certain they're heading into yet another dead end, judging by how the hallway thins out around them, but he can spot a strangely bright piece of paper lying some ways ahead of what appears to be the exit.
either way, makoto's not about to twiddle his thumbs for several minutes over it. he releases his grip, gaining momentum with the (hopefully) imminent exit. ]
Let's go!
no subject
But luckily, Quatre found himself a companion who has spied the way out. So he doesn't argue when he's grabbed back and falls in line to following him.]
Is that the way out?
[What he means is, careful it isn't some false promise. Like a trap.]
no subject
I hope so! I'll take the lead from here just in case, so just watch out just in case anything strange happens. Worse comes to worst, I'll try acting as the decoy so you can grab the sheet of paper down there. It can't hurt.
[ makoto tachibana's famous last words. ]

--> Zara
[He's small it'd drag. He'll think about how to properly toga it up shortly. Just now he's still trying to put everything together.]
Then... are you in the same situation? Were you brought here unexpectedly as well?
[...Zara is a real people, right? Not some part of this virtual reality game? Quatre is getting real person vibes. And he's good at vibes.]
no subject
Ah, yes, something like that. [ he's right, but his timeframe isn't. ] I've been here for quite a while by now, however.
no subject
Quite a while... how long? If you don't mind my asking. It just seems like it must be hard, to be in a place like this so far from home. [With what they've said about this place.]
no subject
... Well, by my count, it's been about nine months. [ it sounds absolutely dreadful when put into a solid number like that; even Zara flinches a little bit. ]
