I don't think we have the time for that-- [ For him to say it again, that is, though maybe they do considering he can't run at full speed but he at least wants to ensure she gets out of this hell pit with her body in tact.
When she pulls she'll find that he stumbles too much on one leg, his grip tightening on her hand in turn because of the pain. There are still people trying to shoot them down or stab them, but he just keeps blasting spells over his shoulder while limping after her. He's trusting her to find the exit while he covers their retreat. ]

[Don't judge her!!!]
I said you can, doesn't mean you have to! [She does notice that her mysterious nerdy magic rescuer is injured, but finding an actual way out takes priority. She keeps tugging him by the hand, regardless - the height difference means she'd make a really awkward crutch.]
[...Not that she wouldn't try anyway, but she's got to find their way out first. Luckily: Maya is good at finding things]
Over there!
[That was louder than she's meant to be. Oops.]
no subject
Then keep going-- [ She really didn't need to yell, considering a bunch more of these NPC hooligans immediately look towards them when she does. She keeps tugging at his hand but he lets go as soon as they're into the area that leads to the door. This is what he meant by keep going.
Hopefully he can catch up, as first he twists around to look back at the group that's formed. Both of his hands reach out in front of himself and loudly he yells out: ] Ic þé wiþdrífe!
[ If Maya turns back before getting out of there she'll see the entire group being blasted back with a force that sends a bunch of them smashing into the walls of this place, probably cracking their heads on the surface. Oops. ]

[And then he's letting go of her in his quest to Look Very Cool as she's running off to find an exit
But what about---
[You, she wants to say, but she's cut off by the extra attention she's garnered from her complete lack of subtlety and his super cool (and potentially super deadly)... tossing people around magic.]
Woah....
[But in any case, exit located!! A hallway leading them out, specifically. There's just one problem: she's not on board with running away and leaving him to mmmaybe catch up.]
[She's gonna double back to go get him]
C'mon!

[ Yeah, it's pretty deadly, and he seems to have no qualms about these virtual people smacking their heads into paste either. If anything, they're the enemy, and his wish to protect himself and her outweighs any moral dilemma right now.
He thinks she's gone by the time he limps around the corner, crashing into a wall as the pain in his ankle gets to be too much. He rests there for a moment, which is where she'll find him once she comes back.
He looks at her like she's crazy, honestly. ]
I thought I told you to run while you could. [ He's grateful though, in one way, because walking by himself right now is probably a bad idea. ]

[Maya's not really onboard with lethal force, but this is just a (super realistic) game and she isn't about to puff up about it. She's more concerned in sweeping this helpless wizard up into her arms and running off into the murder sunset. Or you know, just making sure he doesn't die by awkwardly trying to help him walk]
And leave you to look cool by yourself? Please! We can both look cool when we're out of here! Or just even cooler, in my case.
[Despite the inappropriate joking, she is pretty determined not to leave him behind. What a goody two shoes. (Yes, she's crazy)]
[In any case, she's tugging with all of her (unimpressive) strength to try to get properly upright, slipping under his arm to be a literal crutch. Well, she tried.]
Now, c'mon, Harry Plotter. Let's Houdini our way out!

[ Look, if someone is coming at you with the desire to kill, you have to return it or you'll end up with your head on a spike. Then again, he's also from well into the past where Kingdoms are constantly at war. Knights are constantly fighting battles, and as Arthur's servants, he often winds up in the middle of them.
Things happen. ] You say that like you've done anything but put yourself in danger. [ He says it with a laugh though, taking her aid even if he feels a bit guilty that she didn't or wouldn't leave him behind. ]
I really have no idea what you're talking about, but as long as it's leading us out of here, I don't care.
[ Thankfully he can take care of anyone who finds them on the way, but the walking itself isn't easy with how much smaller she is in comparison. Sorry for this, Maya... ]

[Maybe Camelot should consider having less murder in the distance past. In any case, Maya waves off his sass and continues this really awkward trek to freedom. At least the coast is clear... for the moment]
It was all part of my brilliant plan! It's fine if you don't get it. We only just met, you've still got time to recognize my obvious genius.
["Obvious genius".... she seems to be in pretty good spirits, despite her position as awkward crutch and their slow shamble to freedom. She's huffing a little from the effort, but otherwise, her sunny mood is unaffected. Maybe she has experience saving hapless nerds]
What, seriously? Not even prisoner of Bazkaboom? For someone with magic, you're a little behind the times...
no subject
Though it probably should, but alas kingdoms were at war yadayada... Though he has to look at her a little surprised at her ego going through the roof. ]
Maybe you should consider that once we're out of here. As for-- [ He stumbles along, and while it isn't really painful, it's more that if he puts his foot down it'll just give out under him and he'll go down yelling timber. ] --the rest. What's Bazkaboom?
Did you hit your head at some point?
no subject
Um... I can multitask. Can't you?
[He'll probably get used to her acting like she's cool soon enough. For the moment, she continues to lead the helpless nerd awkwardly to what she hopes is safety. Unfortunately, they're heading to the jungle, where more fans await. At least her silly banter is hopefully taking his mind off of the pain and the possibility of falling flat on his face at the slightest wrong move?]
It's a prison for wizards! Um, duh.
[A question for the ages, that one.]
Did you hit your head? What's that supposed to mean?
no subject
I'm sorry I'm too busy panicking?!
[ Thankfully pain isn't an issue here, it's more that his "bone" is fractured enough that if he stands on it... it'll just give out. That's something no one wants when trying to run away from crazy people, that's for sure. ]
What do you think it's supposed to mean? Why are you saying all these names at me like I'd understand it?
no subject
[Helpful advice from the helpful spirit medium!! In training.]
[She's very distracting!! It's one of her talents]
I thought you'd know more about other magical types, being a wizard... but maybe you don't get out that much.
[But they're getting close to out of here-- unfortunately, more 'admirers' await]
no subject
[ This is why you're still in training, Maya!
Though what the... ]
You do realise that in Camelot using magic is punishable by death, right?
[ Once they're outside there's a barrage of fire, swords and arrows. He manages to react quickly enough by raising his arm and yelling out "Shieldan" which covers them with a nice reflective barrier while his hand is held up there. When there's a break his hand slams down though, using a stunning spell to send them all flying through the air.
No one seems to be waking up anytime soon at least, though it probably looks like a couple have cracked their heads open pretty hard and are bleeding all over the floor. Ah. ]

[Maybe Merlin should be training to be badass like her. She gives him a weird look -- what does Camelot even have to do with this in the first place?]
Why would it be punishable by death? Isn't that where Merlin and the knights of the whatever table live? Merlin's always busting people's chops with cool magic spell and magicking his brooms to clean stuff!
[someone's remembering their fairy tales slash Disney movies way incorrectly.]
no subject
Woah....
no subject
I am Merlin! [ Maya please... Though honestly she isn't wrong. Despite having amples of power he often wastes it to do his chores because he's too lazy to do them himself.
Not so Disney-ish as lazy as hell.
He tugs at her lightly, indicates they need to keep moving. ] And some of those aren't dead, so let's go before they wake up.
1/2
[Woah, talk about a shock! Maya's actually distracted enough from their situation to tilt her head to stare at him as best she can from her spot under his arm]
You can't be serious..... Your parents named you after him because you're magic!? That seems a little..... well, I dunno.....
[He must have gotten so teased in magic high school!!]
no subject
Oh, yeah.... I guess we can chat on the go. Full speed ahead!
[Or "the pathetic speed these two travel at" considering their awkward mode of travel. But she's moving again...]
no subject
[ What High School, he had to learn everything he knows by himself you lunatic. He moves with her though, hopping along. It really isn't painful, but the joint is too weak to rely on. ]
no subject
[why is he so tall, she can't even squint at his face from this angle]
Isn't he like, a million years old? Wait, are you secretly a million years old?
[She is probably the rudest "rescuer" of all times]
[(It's only a matter of time before their bantering attracts more NPCs and monsters..)]
no subject
[ Yeah, especially as he probably has some kind of magnet because of the... stuff. Sorry, Maya. He doesn't know. ]
no subject
[Speaking of which, a distant growling is starting up]
What do you mean? Do you have sixty days a month or something?
[She's not so sure this guy is really a five million year old wizard....]
Okay, prove it! If you're really Merlin, then... what's King Arthur doing? And... Lampalot? And... those other guys!!
[Yes, Lampalot and the knights of the whatever table]
no subject
We don't count days and months the same way. Not quite. We don't have hours, minutes and seconds either. I had to learn that.
[ Help. ]
And if I've been here for two months how am I supposed to know. And for another thing, it's Lancelot.
