[ Athena's managed to convince the manager of the Little Sister Cafe to cater at ther CERES gardens, so there are tables, a spread of food, and at the center of all the tables is a small platform-like stage with a microphone. A part of the gardens now looks like this. With less balloons, of course.

Once there's enough people, Athena Cykes steps up. She has crutches, and she rests those crutches by the side of the platform as she speaks. ]

I'm sure we were all expecting a safe tour, but most of us - if not all - ended up being in danger. But, despite all this, we learned a lot of things. If we can all get up here one by one, in an orderly manner, and speak of what we've learned, we would be able to help one another survive in Cerealia better.

I don't think we need to keep this a secret anymore; Mr. Mosley and the rest of CERES have their eyes on us at all times. But still, we shouldn't try to withhold information from one another. Information is key to be able to survive in this place. Whatever you know? Please tell us.

The food is also from the cosplay cafe. Please come visit if you enjoy them. Thank you.

[This place isn't home as far as he is concerned. His home has been destroyed, trice over by now, but still. Here isn't it and will never be.]

Oh! I mean - I mean, the place - our apartments... that's... home for now.

Oh! Because you have friends here and people who'd wait for you?

[He seems to have gotten it.]

Yeah, pretty much.

Why? Do you not have friends here?

Well. [He smiles awkwardly, looking guilty.] There are some people from back home here, and some others that I get along well with. So I do have them, I guess.

[jyajyaaan]

[His expression falls into one of bitter resignation.]


....but I also know that none of them would like me if they knew about my past. So I don't mind leaving everyone while we are still on good terms, especially if it would help the others to find a way to rescue their worlds and to find a way back home.

Huh? [He jumps a little at the sudden touch.]

It's Shingetsu. Rei Shingetsu.

If they're really your friends? They'll stick with you no matter what your past may be.

I don't need to know your story, but hear me out, okay? Everyone's got a shadow to them.

[jyajyaaan]

Mmmh. [Blushing lightly, he holds a hand to his chest as he smiles to himself.] I'd really like that. But I also think that it's for the best if I don't put too big expectations on them when doing so wouldn't be fair.

[His shadows are plenty enough that they tried to come out and eat him whole before. Maybe it's because he has never really tried to feel any regret over what he has done or tried to return to being the person he was before Don Thousand had mindwashed him. There's just so much blood on his hands now that trying to wash it off would be nothing but a joke.]

Your name is Athena Cykes, right? You're the one who invited us all here.

That's right, I'm Athena.

I've got lots of shadows chasing me, but I'm fine, and I have my friends. So... I guess I'm not worried. [ That's a lie, she totally is very worried of losing her friends. ]

[jyajyaaan]

Hehe~ So you could say that your friends are your light, right~?

[psycholawgy]

I guess! I have one that's said to be like the sun.

But I want to be a light of my own, you know?

[jyajyaaan]

Oh, really? Like the sun? [He laughs lightly.] That sounds like quite the guy!

[Calming down a little, he nods with a smile.]

I do. It might sound pretentious at my current state, but that's why I use a light-themed deck as well. I'm 'Rei'. So I might as well shine a light, right~?

[Rei Shingetsu. Zero Truemoon. It's such a terrible pun.]

[ Just blinks curiously... ]

Hah? What's that mean?

Ah. So you don't know about it either? I was talking about Duels. But if you don't know about them that's fine.

It's not that important anyway.

[psycholawgy]

Well, if you ever want to talk about it, my ears are open!

[jyajyaaan]

Hehehe, that's a dangerous offer~ Most duelists would talk a hole through your ears if you gave them a chance.

[He laughs, honestly amused. Shaking his head with smile he offers a little more explanation after all.]

I think some of the others even made a huge post with examples for different types of summons to the network. The short version is that it's a semi-real cardgame wit magic and monsters that is sort of like a national sport where I come from. Pretty much everybody plays it and many people personalize their decks and playing styles to reflect what kind of person their are.

[Holding up some cards that were in his pocket, he grins.]

I use a Shining archetype-deck because I like its light element alignment and my family name is Shing-etsu. [He airquotes as he intentionally mispronounces the name a bit to make the pun more apparent.] ...and because my first name is written with the letter for "Zero" a lot of my monsters have zero or very low attack or defense stats!

[ she beams a sunny smile at him. ]

I did see that! I think I could have played it if I had a chance when I was younger.

Those are really cool! But why do you sound so proud that your monsters are weak...?

Aw, but you aren't that old yet...? [This is less him trying to flatter her and more being used to having even old people playing it every once and then.

Her question earns her a surprised look before he laughs warmly.]

Hehe, that's a good question, I guess! The answer is that just because one of their stats is low, that doesn't mean that they are weak or useless at all! Many people just see the numbers and pass them over right away, but when you take the time to look at the cards you'll find that most have abilities or special effects that make more than up for it if you just know how to play them!

Take this one for example. [picking a card whose monster looks like it will start to reveal how certain magic tricks work in tv anytime soon, he offers it to her for inspection] Shining Sly only has a low level of three, and a low attack and even lower defense. Most would call it useless. But if you look at its effects you will see that it can become impervious to being attacked and can even protect not only you but even a friend too from being harmed once each turn! That makes it ideal for tag team battles!

[He grins.]

Even though they have no great levels or are a zero all of these cards still have their own worth and abilities to shine. I play them in my deck because I want to bring that out and make other people realize that as well!

[Is he still talking about cards? Or about people? In any case, his attitude evaporates a bit and he laughs with a sheepish grimace.]


.....that's what I want to do, at least. To be honest I'm quite bad at the game and keep losing most of the time, ahaha~

[He laughs, easily going along with it after a brief tense moment. He even finds a way to loosely return it without touching her anywhere awkwardly. (News at eleven: Vector thrives on any sort of attention)]
