[ Athena's managed to convince the manager of the Little Sister Cafe to cater at ther CERES gardens, so there are tables, a spread of food, and at the center of all the tables is a small platform-like stage with a microphone. A part of the gardens now looks like this. With less balloons, of course.

Once there's enough people, Athena Cykes steps up. She has crutches, and she rests those crutches by the side of the platform as she speaks. ]

I'm sure we were all expecting a safe tour, but most of us - if not all - ended up being in danger. But, despite all this, we learned a lot of things. If we can all get up here one by one, in an orderly manner, and speak of what we've learned, we would be able to help one another survive in Cerealia better.

I don't think we need to keep this a secret anymore; Mr. Mosley and the rest of CERES have their eyes on us at all times. But still, we shouldn't try to withhold information from one another. Information is key to be able to survive in this place. Whatever you know? Please tell us.

The food is also from the cosplay cafe. Please come visit if you enjoy them. Thank you.

Well, it's games, right? There's no point being a king of them because you play them together with people, not against them!

Against them? Against the games themselves?

[She thinks about it, and that does sound pretty ridiculous.]

Haha, no, against people, people!

If you think about it, a king is a ruler who'd wage wars and dominate people, right? One without a par, or how it's called.

But games are things that you always need other people to play with, even if you play against each other. And it's only a fair, good game if both players start with exactly the same conditions.

But it can still be a good game, regardless of whether the two players have the exact same conditions. I used to play cards with Glen and he was always much more skilled and experienced than I was. And surely being king does not change how one plays the game. Does it?

Hmmm. I think that'd depend on if the unevenness of chances is agreed on beforehand? Being king means that you alone get to decide how much of a chance to win the other players have.

I might be getting it wrong, though.

But that is not how a game is played. You do not agree on who has more chances of winning beforehand. That is unfair, whether you are king or not.

I know. But if you are a king nobody can call you out on it. Even if they do there's nothing anybody could do about it.

Why not? If they are wrong then even if they are king, they should be told.

Mmmh. But that's no promise that the king will also have to decide to acknowledge. Some of the people I've met wouldn't. They're just say 'your tough luck' and move on with the game.

That is unfair, then. Being king does not put you above all others, nor does it make you immune to reproach. If they are wrong, I think it is best to accept it rather than to continue on. There is always something to be learned that will make us better.

[The thought of whether her brother would also do such a thing once he became king does briefly cross her mind before she stops...]

And surely being king is quite a busy thing, is it not? Where does your friend find the time to play?

That's how it should be, yeah...

He isn't really a king or like that, that's why I said that the title doesn't fit him well. [Except that the Atem he remembers had the best markings to be exactly a ruler like that, oops~] But I'd imagine that it'd have to be really busy ruling a place? The one major I knew was always buzzing around even though he had people to help him with his tasks.

[Now that she thinks about it, that makes sense. You can't have a king or royalty without a kingdom, after all. She'd read about revolutions and such after Rahzel had recommended a Tale of Two Cities to her.]

I see. That is unfortunate. Who did they lose their kingdoms to?

Sorry. History isn't my strong suit. Some lost to other countries, other to the people they reigned over, stuff like that...?

Well, then I'm glad. I'll go and see if I can find any more information of what's going on, are you going to do the same? I'm sure that there's people who know more about royalty and their history than me around, too!

Yes, that is what I am planning on doing. And I am certain there must be, but I think figuring out what is going on here is much more important at the moment.
