[With a sigh, Archer opened the door to a place that seemed to fit a certain someone's requirements. Oh well, Archer knew what he was getting into when it came to their work relationship. If he was ever frustrated, he could really only blame himself in the long run. No doubt, Rin would be the one to point out that exact fact to him too. Not so secretly, though, Archer picked a place that he would have an easier time performing daily chores at. Better location and placing, using his keen eye to make sure it was all right.]

Is this place suitable or will there be a reckoning?

[It was a one bedroom place. Yes, Archer planned on staying but he had no need to sleep. It was one of the perks of being a Servant. Hopefully Rin wouldn't get the mistaken idea that she'd be the only one here. Because that was a headache waiting to happen.

If it is fine, I'll work on making sure it's furnished with things suitable for both of us.

It might be good to test our limitations here. I know in the virtual simulator it's different, but if they've recovered us I'd like to see just how much pain our bodies can tolerate.

A good idea but not in public. We have an apartment picked and I can furniture shop later so now would be fine. These kind of things are useful to know but you're not going to get anywhere with it the rate you're going.

Before I give the long story, are you aware of what Projection magic is?

No. [ Honestly spoken. ]

Magic no longer exists in my world. Neither does magecraft.

That sort of thing died out a few decades ago. [ This is what happens when the previous generations fail to take care of the world!! ]

At least by time I was old enough to have heard of it, there wasn't very much mana left in the world so magi evolved beyond the limitations set upon them. I've heard of magic and I've heard of magecraft--just nothing about Projection.

I see. Projection magic allows the caster to materialize objects. It's a fairly useless spell since most objects only last seconds and the amount of mana used is entirely disproportionate to the end product.

For someone like me, a Blacksmith Heroic Spirit, I can take Projection magic to the next level. By simply looking at a weapon, I can recreate it along with its history and experiences. I don't think I need to explain to you the significance of that.

My preferred fighting style is with swords but I am more than capable of modifying Noble Phantasms into arrows for my bow, hence why I'm an Archer class.

[It was a vague enough description for someone who was adverse to plot dumping. That and he was sure Rin could fill in the lines.]

[ No, it isn't difficult at all the fill in the missing parts of his explanation, though she rather he was upfront with his abilities. A Blacksmith Heroic Spirit though..? That sort of trait seemed powerful and useless at the same time. If the imitation was on the same tier as the original, it could prove to be beneficial, but... she's never heard of any hero who could do that.

In the Moon Cell, the purpose of studying the opponent was to counter their Noble Phantasm. In knowing what it was before they used it, they could block it readily and not worry about being defeated by it. So studying heroes, trying to figure out their true identities and the such, was expected of her.

But a Blacksmith Heroic Spirit?

Ah well, it was a challenge and so far this world was lacking in those. May as well make the most of this one. ]

You must have an equally powerful Noble Phantasm. Not that I think it's necessary to use here. I haven't seen another Servant.

[swordboning]

I suppose I should come clean. I have no Noble Phantasm. The magic that would be considered one is not accessible to me here but I can still access everything within it.

[More vague words but a Heroic Spirit without a legend is one without a Noble Phantasm.]

Great, I've saddled up with a defective Servant.

[ In all actuality, she's relieved. A Servant without a Noble Phantasm is infinitely more handy with what they have, as well as impossible to figure out. His identity will be kept secret even from her. ]

[They both weren't being serious at the moment. But at least she understood why wooden swords were a thing.]

Now, are you going to tell me why taking an arrow through the head wouldn't normally kill you.

It'd be an odd thing to allow happen here. If they withdrew our data and intended to store it on this colony, then what happens when their subjects begin to kill each other off?

[ Shrugging it off. There's still not enough information about this environment for her to feel safe getting ARROW'd though. ]

Anyway it'd be safer to take a boot to the head instead.

Oh, I see the problem is you and not me seeing as most guys would be pleased with a woman who eats trash takeout and microwavable burritos.

I'd rate it a normal end. There are places you can go that's much worse.
