[ So while you're walking about, enjoying or hating your day, you will encounter a dog. This dog will, as adorable corgis do, perform one of the following feats:

a.) Steal whatever you're holding for a game of Keep Away. Don't think that being tall will save you, he's got quite the spring in his hind legs.

b.) Drop whatever thing he's picked up (ball, wadded up paper, someone's high heel) and wait expectantly for you to play fetch with him.

c.) Bark. And roll over. This means love him.

d.) Trip you. It's probably unintentional.

Whatever he does, at least you'll hear two voices (familiar or not) clamoring in the distance for "Zweeeeeeeeeeeeeei!" and then Yang and Ruby will be heading in your direction at high speed.

Whatever you do, don't grab the dog and run. They may not know who you are, but they will find you. And they will kill you.

Or at least make you regret it. ]

[it looks more like yuri gets the alternate situation. the one where zwei approaches, but he's too busy watching repede's reaction in amusement to do much else.

because naturally, repede being the larger dog here, is just staring him down curiously and debating whether or not to establish dominance. time to pee all over cerealia?? okay, probably not, because repede's not that concerned, so he just... sits. which amuses yuri as he waits for the inevitable one of two people this dog is probably attached to.]

So pup, you Zwei, then? [he'll kneel down himself to give the dog some pats. he hasn't heard of anyone else around with real dogs lately...

...and the voices crying that name in the near distance all but confirm that for him. nailed it.] Guess so.

[undaunts]

[Zwei just bounces in place in his corgi way, wagging his tail cheerfully, and he barks happily in response to both Yuri's words and pats. Good man.

As for Ruby, she catches up in a moment, and then she squeals, hands pressed to her cheeks.]

Another doggie!

[flaredo]

[ Yang first checks on Zwei - who is okay - and then waves to Yuri - who also looks okay - and then she joins her sister in the age-old family tradition of Dog Cooing. Hi, Repede. ]

What a handsome boy!

[oh... repede can get behind this. he sits up, much more proudly and lets out a couple of barks. please do give him attention, since yuri's a little more focused on zwei for the moment.

well, at least yuri's amused by the whole ordeal. ruby and yang both seem excited, and zwei's pretty cute.]

I guess it was only a matter of time before we were gonna have a fateful meeting like this. [leave it to yuri to tease by making it sound way more dramatic than it actually is.]

[Dogs are the best thing, and this is one of the best things that was ever possibly going to happen, and so she only laughs at Yuri's words because--]

It's dog fate! You know, because we both have dogs and there aren't really many other dogs here and--okay, yeah, you get it.

He gets it. [ Yang will agree, but also move to pet Repede. Oh man, what a cool-looking dog. ] Zwei needed another new buddy, anyway.

[maybe it's because they're both such dog lovers that repede doesn't seem to give it much thought. it's likely he would have taken a liking to ruby quickly, but yang normally may have been a little more of a crapshoot.

(what are his criteria anyway? we just don't know.)

estelle would definitely be envious right now, but that's neither here nor there.]

It's been a while since Repede's had any other pooch friends. He's kind of a lone wolf, but I think even he misses being around other dogs these days. [a little. he'd still rather hang with the humans, though.]

[undaunts]

[Poor Estelle, doomed to never be loved by Repede.

But Ruby's more than willing to sign Zwei up for friendship.]

Well, Zwei could always use more doggy friends... and you're our friend, Yuri... it's perfect!

Hey, yeah! I can call Hawke up and we can have a group doggy date!

...Group doggy date?

[well, that sure sounds like a thing. granted, he doesn't really know hawke either, so that's a factor.]

Guess something like that would probably be up to the pups to decide.

[undaunts]

What do you think, Zwei?

[She'll immediately take that suggestion, crouching to ask Zwei his thoughts.

Naturally, Zwei barks happily, dancing in a circle.

On to the next dog.]

What about you, Repede?

[repede lets out a firm bark, which causes yuri to look down at him with a bit of a snort.]

I think he wants to meet any other dogs first before he decides. [he just wants to be... top dog...]

[undaunts]

That's fair.

[Ruby, too, would want to meet the others first before anything like that.]

But that means we need a meeting in general anyway, so that's a yes for doggy pow-wow one!

[Yessss.]

Lemme know when you wanna meet Garrett, and I'll have Hawke bring him around. He's really friendly!

... And heavy. Really heavy.

[ruby's so excited... which seems around right, honestly. yuri's a bit more neutral to things, but it probably can't hurt much. probably.]

Heavy, huh. Guess he's a big dog, then?

[Ruby's just shrugging over here; she doesn't know him, so it's all on Yang.

Instead, she's going to focus on Repede, planting her hands on her knees to get down on his level (which is admittedly not hard, Ruby is short) and grin at him.

Sup, Repede?

If you made your dog about... a foot taller, that's Garrett.

[ HE'S A GOOD BOY. ]

All right, big dog he must be, then.

[granted, repede's not the biggest dog, but he's big enough, that's for sure. it probably means they won't be the best of friends, but... well, they can worry about that when the time comes.

for now, repede's content to give a couple of barks at ruby (friendly ones, naturally) before sniffing around to see what's up with her. he will gracious accept head pats and chin scratches and bellu rubs, though.]

... Careful, Yuri. She's going to wind up liking your dog more than she likes you.

Wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

[he knows repede is cool. repede knows he's cool too, and he's totally okay with ruby acknowledging this.

...which is why he backs up to be a total show-off.]
