[open] WHO LET THE DOG OUT
Who:
flaredo &
undaunts and YOU! (Tagging order will be You-Ruby-Yang!)
When: IC 5/1
Where: Everywheeeeeeeeere
What: In which a corgi rains terror over the populace
Rating/Warning: C for CORGIIIIIIII
[ So while you're walking about, enjoying or hating your day, you will encounter a dog. This dog will, as adorable corgis do, perform one of the following feats:
a.) Steal whatever you're holding for a game of Keep Away. Don't think that being tall will save you, he's got quite the spring in his hind legs.
b.) Drop whatever thing he's picked up (ball, wadded up paper, someone's high heel) and wait expectantly for you to play fetch with him.
c.) Bark. And roll over. This means love him.
d.) Trip you. It's probably unintentional.
Whatever he does, at least you'll hear two voices (familiar or not) clamoring in the distance for "Zweeeeeeeeeeeeeei!" and then Yang and Ruby will be heading in your direction at high speed.
Whatever you do, don't grab the dog and run. They may not know who you are, but they will find you. And they will kill you.
Or at least make you regret it. ]

You okay? He usually just rolls over without the tripping.
no subject
Yeah, I'm fine. I wasn't really expecting a dog to just appear outta nowhere. He seems okay, at least. Might wanna keep him on a leash before he runs in front of someone who won't find it okay, though.
no subject
[The leash dangles from Ruby's hand, and she shrugs sheepishly.]
Um... it was an accident. I'm really sorry that he caused you some trouble though!
no subject
[ I mean, look at him. ]
no subject
It's fine, really.
[Grinning, he kneels down to give the corgi a head rub.] I dunno though, he sure looks like a terror. He just looks unsuspecting!
no subject
[You are 150% correct.]
Sometimes we bring him along with us on missions, because he's really good in a pinch!
no subject
[ GLOWING WITH PRIDE... ]
no subject
"Combat corgi"? Seriously? Do you take him into ViViD or something?
[Can... Can dogs even go into ViViD??]
no subject
[Ruby just shrugs, even as Zwei barks happily.]
Mostly she meant that he can come with us on field missions though.
no subject
[ Completely serious. ]
no subject
[Color him curious on what sort of missions two girls who are probably younger than him go on.]
My family's got a golden retriever, but about the most combative thing he does is occasionally steal food from someone's plate when they're not looking.
no subject
[You know, as you do. She giggles at that, though.]
Zwei does that too! Dogs are pretty sneaky, huh?

Wait-- you do? Serious? Where are you from? Er-- when? Sorry, I just-- [It's mostly the military fighting off giant monsters where he's from, but that's not to say that others who do are out there. Or that the military might hire teenage girls for some reason.]
-- I don't mean anything bad by it, it's just that you don't fit the profile of most monster fighters I've met back home.
no subject
[Yeah. Ruby's not expecting too much recognition, because she can usually tell when people are from their world and he doesn't really come across that way.]
We're from Remnant. And trust me, monster-hunting is totally normal there.
[...] Sort of. I mean, for Huntresses it is.
no subject
[ And a military, yes. ]
no subject
I've never heard of it, but, wow. So you're with the military, then? That would make sense... [Being from 1958, so women being prevalent in the military isn't really a thing yet, but he thinks it's totally cool.]
I, uh, I'm not much of a fighter, so I've been trying to help on the research side. My whole family is involved in it in one way or another, really. But I'm currently in-- er, was in college for biology, planning to take up xenobiology.
no subject
[Nailed it. But she beams at him, because even if it's not quite as cool as monster hunting in her 15 year old head, she still thinks:]
Hey, that's important too! So you study monsters and things like that, then?
no subject
[ Their father didn't fight as much these days-- he taught, more than anything. She can respect that. ]
no subject
no subject
[But she's got the humor of a young teenage girl, so she's snort-laughing anyway.]
But yeah, not a lot of people are used to giant monsters. It's weird, but... their loss, really! I mean--there are a lot of giant monsters here, so at least we're prepared.
no subject
[ She'd be interested in learning, admittedly. ]
no subject
Um, well, I've been trying to, but getting my hands on any information has been pretty tough. Like how the library seems to completely lack a non-fiction section, for one thing.
no subject
[And, you know. Fight them. It's what they do.]
no subject
[ It could be fun. ]
