[Look, it's a normal, casual Monday. Normal, casual Monday means that neither Sousei nor Tenka is expecting much to happen on this casual day. They always have a segment of time in which they are both at home, when Sousei has gotten home from work and Tenka hasn't yet left--so it's that period of time in which they're sitting as casually as ever at the low, traditional table.

Clearly, now is an excellent time for a visitor to come with dinner.

Because Tenka will never turn down food and Sousei is easily steamrolled over by Tenka--

Either way, whether Pyrrha lets them know she's coming over or not, neither of them will be ready for

[When Yoon lets Sousei know that he actually has done some research into the medical topics that Sousei's been poking into, Sousei doesn't hesitate to invite him over. Tenka, naturally, will be sticking around for this as well, since it's Tenka that it most importantly involves--

So hope you don't mind seeing the both of them watching you rather intently when you finally make it to the apartment they share, Yoon.

At least Tenka's friendlier than Sousei... at least there's that. Still, for a topic this important and a guest properly invited over, there is tea at the low table, and preparation for a lengthy discussion.]

[Hope you didn't have plans this evening, Hinata, because then your phone is buzzing with a terrible invitation from a certain Aniki who causes all sorts of trouble all the time--]

[Friday is always a good day of the week for customers, right...? Especially weird customers. Well, hopefully Saya's Friday hasn't been too much of a nightmare, because then Sousei and Tenka are wandering into the flower store together, bickering over what sounds like boxes of cookies (do you want to know? Probably not.) and overall not looking like the sorts of people who should be in flower stores.

Do you dare approach, even.... they don't look like they're even looking at the flowers yet, too distracted by their bickering.]

jaune;

[There are two men walking to dinner on a Friday night.

This is very, very heterosexual.

But it's their habit to do so and try out new places (or as new as Sousei is willing to accept), and it was a habit started when neither of them could cook. Now they have people who can cook living with them, but...it's hard to stop the habit, really. Even if they wanted to.

So they're strolling by the park, heading towards the restaurants further in the city. This might be a great time to show senpai your stuff, Jaune.

[AFTER DINNER they make their way back home, Sousei a little harried (Tenka mostly amused.). But they're not really paying that close of attention to things now that they're back on their floor, having...happily, blissfully forgotten that they're living nearby someone who is now obsessed with the art of surprise.

Really, they're just sitting ducks as they walk down the hallway, how could you resist?]

shinpachi;

[It's been A Day.

Friday night is prime partying night, but if Shinpachi makes his way to Tenka's bar that night, he'll find a Sousei who very much does not look ready to party. If anything, he looks like he's ready to Drink To Forget.

He's not that far gone, admittedly, but... he is sitting there at the bar, sake in hand as he watches Tenka serve a few of the other patrons, and he is actually drinking for once.

Clearly he needs friendship and company.]

Sousei's way of saying "I'm not training you" is actually to kinda just pummel the kid into the ground.

Sousei-kun doesn't know what to do with his popularity.

[ Shinpachi's just grinning as he listens.. Tenka and Sousei are great company in their own ways, really, just watching them go back and forth like this is already enough entertainment in itself for Shinpachi.

And when he's asked for advice (since that's obviously what's happening here!!) he lets out a Wise Old Man Sigh. Watch him, kids, he's going to share some of his great wisdom with you. ]

Ah, so it's like that.. [ Now he's really talking like an old man. ]

Sousei, to be honest.. you should enjoy your popularity while it lasts. Right now it might seem a little overwhelming-- I know it too! People come from everywhere going "woah, please teach me, Shinpachi-sama!" [ not entirely a lie, but wildly exaggerated. ] But y'know, one day that's all gonna disappear, and you'll be stuck sitting on your ass all day since you'll be old and grey.

So enjoy the opportunity to teach today's youth some actual swordsman ideals!

As for Shinpachi......... really, now. "Enjoy your popularity while it lasts"? He doesn't want popularity at all!!! And he knows Shinpachi is mostly teasing him, but even so--]

I'm not looking for popularity. I'm not a teacher, I'm a captain. I don't have time for such things.

That said he's actually laughing pretty hard once Shinpachi gives his amazing spiel. Whoa. Truly just some Wisdom right there.]

It's true. If Sousei was looking for popularity, he'd think to do something about his awful personality.

[ Small blessings - Shinpachi won't at least make fun of Sousei's personality to that extent. He'll leave that job up to the Official Partner, okay.. instead he actually shifts a little more into seriousness, although it's still very much the casual variation of it. Especially with his cup still in his hand and all. ]

Well, it's still pretty important in this place, I think. A lot of people don't seem like they can defend themselves, and it's pretty needed here. [ The recent Incidents at the amusement park proved as much.. seriously, he saw at least two guys cowering. Guys. Men. How did modern men turn into such sissies. ]

If you don't have time for it or it annoys you, you can always send 'em over to me for training. I used to train the new recruits back home, since I got menkyo kaiden and all. So I don't really mind.

Perhaps I will. I do not mind...teaching those who will treat it with the seriousness it deserves.

[Tenka just chuckles faintly at that even as he polishes glasses and waits for more people to flag down his attention. Still though, he can't help but admit honestly-]

Dunno, Shinpachi-kun, this one would be an interesting student even for you. I don't think he's ever gotten formal training, though I can't deny that he's.... eager.

[ He doesn't know the full situation, so he's not going to try and assume everything about it - instead he just gives Sousei a curious glance. ] For some people, seriousness just isn't the way they show their willingness for that sorta stuff.

I'm not going to deride someone for being eager. [eagerness is good.] But childishness and an unwillingness to listen do not make for a decent student in this.

[ Okay, when he's almost falling off his stool with how far he's trying to reach over, he knows this has got to come to an end. He turns his head to look mid-sentence and upon noticing the thing is gone, he glances at Tenka. In despair. ]

[Slowly, Sousei just...blinks. Yeah.

.. having the power to make even a night of drinking out with friends depressing is pretty amazing. [ And not in a good way, okay!!

Besides, it's not like they won't bounce back in two minutes tops, but Shinpachi has to sulk about it like a ten year old.
