[All right, so it's a few days later than intended, but when the night that you plan a party just completely disappears into a mess of mayhem and murderous Santas, well, you improvise. At least, that's been Komaeda's plan. After making sure to let everyone know about the rescheduling, it's just a matter of coordinating.

So here it is. Here they are.

The decorations -- courtesy of Souda -- are up: streamers, balloons, matching party hats all in varying shades of red, black and white. They're draped around the small apartment along with what is probably an oversupply of party poppers. The food is set out in the kitchen and most everywhere else.

There's even a punchbowl that's probably not spiked yet, but how long can that really last anyway? Music -- somewhat questionable in some of its variety -- plays quietly in the background. And outside the apartment, up on the roof of the building for later, the yakuza have provided some festive explosives fireworks.

Perfect night for a party. And Hinata's the kind of guy who deserves a good party. Right? Right. Only rules are: no murdering anyone and have some fun.]

[Well, it was like that even back on the island, even after the murders.] But it's kinda nice, to have something like this even though that happened.

[He's not much of a party person, but he can freely admit that he appreciates being to at least acknowledge the New Year. If it's along with Hinata's birthday, that is all the better.

He crosses his arms, considering, and then offers up--]

It is properly a new year here. It is a time of change. [...] Well, we will have to enact these changes ourselves, but nonetheless, that will be the case.

[This... feels like the first time in a long time he celebrated the new year and his birthday. He thinks that he missed one, during the year in Haven.]

Yeah, it will. We'll definitely figure out and change things.

[His determination hasn't wavered on that.]

While that is true--that is not what we need to discuss at the moment. [sorry, he's sorry, he didn't mean to drag this back to work.]

Ah, yeah. [Sheepish...]

It looks like they've got some fireworks together we're going to light up later.

[He blinks, legitimately surprised.]

Fireworks. [...huh.] You have very resourceful friends here.

[Or maybe you can just buy fireworks at any only shop and set them off in this place??? He should maybe look into that, that seems dangerous.]

It's not too uncommon where I'm from... we even set off fireworks back on the island one time before. [They all dressed up in yukatas... except for Hinata. AND THEN there was the whole incident with Komaeda and fireworks but you know what don't even mind that.]

[He's also from what amounts to a police force, Hinata, fireworks are just Questionable materials for civilians to possess.

But he nods thoughtfully, considering.]

I see. In that case, I hope they are not as dangerous as they were in my time. [they probably are, aren't they.....]

[... "fun", huh. There's no major change in his expression, but after a moment he simply shakes his head.]

[Whether or not someone like him has fun...that's just silly.]

Why not? It's normal to want friends to enjoy themselves, right?
