Today is the big day to put your mouth where your money is! Or something like that. Welcome to the first ever (??) Charity Event! Remember that it isn’t about winning, it’s about making the world you’re in now a better place until you leave!

Signups are still a thing, so hop on in! Spectators are welcomed! Voting for events will be hosted in this post, where comments will be screened.

[England didn't have very much time to practice in between learning about the charity and the actual event. as such, he decided to pick a song he knew fairly well already, got his hands on a guitar, prayed for sponsors, and rehearsed outside a couple hours for a few days.

he wanted to win this thing.

when he takes the stage, he's not dressed in his usual old-man sweatshirt and slacks. nope, today, he's got on worn skinny jeans, boots, a tee-shirt and jacket. and is that guyliner? well, you have to put on some make-up for the stage. otherwise, you're going to look washed out!

the song starts with some percussion, and then comes the guitar and a tenor voice that you probably didn't expect to come out of this guy's mouth. he can sing well, and he chose a song that would get the audience excited, complete with some high falsetto, and a really cool guitar solo to show off his skills.

he kind of wishes he had time to put together a whole band. but at least this way England can rake in all the glory for himself. he knows he's good, so he's oozing confidence in his performance.

if he has time to do a second song (or if the audience requests an encore), he'll add in Drive My Car, because the guitar in that one is pretty good too]

[The music's wonderful - melodic, yet with a harsh edge, and like nothing he's ever heard; he'll have to ask about it later, is this the sort of music your people played, it sounds like dragon's breath in the air - but that's not what's got Chibi's face red as he taps his foot to the beat. No, that would be the performer, who's showing a new side of himself entirely.]

[Which had the side effect of also frying Chibi's brain. The way he's moving--! Helloooooo.]

[it feels amazing to sing like this again, to leave his whole heart on the stage. by the time England's done, he's gasping for air, grinning in between. yeah, he's pleased with himself. he's even more pleased to see the familiar faces in the audience. his friends, people who sponsored him, and then there is Chibi, who looks... well, England's not so sure. the poor guy looks stunned!

England tosses him a wink for good measure.

okay, England, stop milking it. it's time for the next act. so after that, he heads off to find some water. funny, he figured he'd never want to see water again, after what happened to Cerealia. but he's thirsty, and he can't help that. when he finds his water bottle, he plops down into a seat in the back of the room to relax and watch the rest of the show]

[Oh, fuck, that's not fair.]

[He cheers with the rest of the crowd when England's act ends, though less caught up in the energy of the music than captivated with... Well, with everything else about the act. At the least, the next act gives him a moment to sort himself out and get his face a little less burning hot.]

[It's during the break after that when he finds England, putting an elbow to the wall casually and leaning back.] That was quite the show, I must say - haven't heard much like it before.

[the rest of the acts are kind of fun. needless to say, England's been enjoying himself. being able to perform this way for a cause, and to have so many fans and sponsors... it truly is wonderful! even though he's been tired lately, the high from the performance helped wake him up. he feels better today than he's felt in a long time.

and it looks as though things are going to keep improving. his eyes, alight with amusement, flick over to Chibi when he hears his voice, and then England turns his whole body to face him] That, my friend, is what we call "rock and roll" in my world. It's a popular style of music.

I meant more that you had that in you, though the style of music itself is unique, sure. [Try as Chibi might, he can't stop himself from giving a little look at England up close, up and down. Damn it, with the makeup highlighting his eyes, fingers red from playing, with the shirt showing off just that bit of what's under-- If he keeps looking, with that way England's eyes are lighting up, he realizes abruptly that he's going to make an idiot of himself.]

[So he turns, giving him a sly sideways look instead.] An apt name, too - though for the melody itself, or the crowd's hearts as you show them a different side of yourself?

[Flirting? Him? Who would suggest?]

[there was nothing wrong with flirting! England was doing the same thing, and he was hoping Chibi would flirt back. still, he flushes from the compliment, but manages to keep cool. a different side of himself, indeed. it was one that rarely came out]

What can I say? I like performing. And it's been a good many years since I've been able to sing in front of a crowd like this. [his expression falls into a more relaxed one as he looks out at all the people mingling]

[hoasen]

[Vietnam had heard rumours of England having a dark rebellious side. Unfortunately, she never saw much of him during that part of the decade since she was working so hard trying to repair the state of her country, so all she could base everything on was just stories!

Now she can witness it herself! This is very exciting and he's talented!]

Do I use light sticks for this... [She wonders how best to show her enthusiasm for him, though.]

[Rock Lee, from wherever he happens to be at the time, manages to overhear Vietnam and throws a number of glowsticks towards her.]

[hoasen]

[Why is it raining glowsticks? She turns to locate the source and spots Lee.]

Thank you, Lee! Are you cheering for England too?

[Rock Lee weeps. It's possible that he's standing on a wall, unless Vietnam would have reacted differently to that.]

I am cheering... for everyone! Every last person who is performing to their heart's content!!

[hoasen]

[She would think that's SUPER COOL??? But since he showed it to her before, she'll freak out less, thankfully.

O-oh! Do you have a favourite? Since you will have to vote soon.

Yes!!

Ah... my favorite...

...is every last person! I'll vote for all of them!

[sadly, England is not able to help Vietnam with her question, because he is performing! but he's glad she's there. they were supporting each other by sponsoring each other, as well as watching each other. it's good that she's still in Cerealia. whenever he meets up with Vietnam, England feels that much calmer. she is partly what keeps him sane on this crazy ride.

...naturally, these are things England could never say. but he appreciates her so much, and he tries to convey that when he directs his gaze at her. Thanks, for everything.

once he's finished with his act, England comes out into the Sanctuary to sit beside her] Hey.

[hoasen]

[It doesn't matter, Lee provided her with the glow sticks she needed to cheer him on! And he even looked at her! It's a rather softly enthusiastic look he's giving her, so she pauses for a moment. Did she understand that right?

She will be able to tell after the performance is over.

Fortunately, he found her first.] England, you were wonderful. To be able to witness your skills in person...are you tired? Do you need a drink?

[ah! she thought he was wonderful! England is swelling with pride. what a great way to lift his spirits. at first, he thought the idea of a charity event was kind of cheesy, but it really did make him feel better, watching everyone enjoying themselves and having a good time. and he got to perform, and had people supporting him. he's soaring!]

Thank you, I'm fine. [he gives her a satisfied grin] I had some water backstage.

[hoasen]

[It was a cheesy idea, look at the mess she found herself into. But at least others managed to have fun. He certainly did! She could tell from being in the audience.]

Good, I am glad you were able to rehydrate. You worked very hard.

So did you. I saw your dance. [did he make it rain credits? perhaps a little bit. FOR CEREALIA] You were really giving it your all.

[ The song sounded like something Lockon or Lasse would enjoy, which is to say it's kind of loud for Tieria's taste but he doesn't mind it much. After all, it does reminds him of home a little and for a bit, he feels a little teary but he managed to will it away and concentrate on quietly supporting Arthur's performance.

He has to admit, the nation can sing pretty well and when the second song begins, he finds himself gently bopping his head to beat. He definitely likes the second song better, even if it's not his kind of music.

Clapping once the performance is over, he nods appreciatively to the nation with a smile. ]

[England was definitely not expecting support from Tieria. they don't really know each other that well, but he is so grateful. he was hoping he'd at least get one sponsor, and instead, he got several! it's a big confidence booster, and England is happy to be doing something he loves for a good cause.

he catches Tieria's smile at the end of the performance, and gives a nod back to him. Tieria has helped him in several ways. it's not until intermission that he comes over to give his thanks]

Hey, glad you could make it. [England is practically beaming with pride when he holds his hand out for a good firm shake. this man is different from the one who looked so shaky after just losing his apartment. right now, he is poised, fearless]

[Meanwhile, here Takeru and Patamon were as they listened to Arthur play. Being the little kid that he was, he couldn't help but attempt to sing along and pretend to play an air guitar with him! Of course, he had no idea what he was doing but he'll just cheer him on for now!

However, when the concert was over? There was a small disappointed look on his face but...!]

That was really awesome, mister! I wish I can play as well as you can!

[England is getting some water when he hears the lad, so he stops to grin down at him. ah, England loves children! and what is that cute little animal with him? looks like a giant hamster with wings!]

Well, I think you're on your way already! I saw you rocking out earlier.

[He quickly shook his head.]

No way, you were doing it a lot better than I did! I can't even sing and I know I can't do that on the stage either! But I think you are going to be a famous rock star one day!

[such flattery!] Well, I don't know about that. But thank you. [he inclines his head politely, then his eyes flick to the animal before falling on the boy again[ What are your names?

Us? My name is Takeru and this is Patamon!

[He said before pointing to said flying animal sitting on his head. And with that, he gave his hand out to him]
