The metaphorical sun is shining today -- until it isn't. All of a sudden, there's a creeping sensation up your spine, and the sense that something bad is coming. The day seems a little darker. And those closer to the source who are in their homes in the residential district will understand that sensation better than anyone.

The pure of heart throughout the city who have been feeling under the weather lately will suddenly feel a terrible sense of all-encompassing dread overcome them. A loud metal groan will echo throughout the city as once again, the city undergoes surprise renovations. But today it is not what has been keeping the residents in – but rather some surprise visitors who have wanted out.

And there's a message on the wind, one that might be heard for anyone who listens hard enough...

Murderers.

Murderers.

Murderersmurderersmurderers.

//SCENARIOS.EXE

PHASE I

[ 9:00 ] The peace of the morning in the Residential District shatters just as the wall caves through. It’s a small segment of wall -- no more than five feet across at most. And yet the crash and groan of the metal being stretched is ominously accompanied by the distinct piercing screech of metal and another sound. A raucous noise, a combination of ungodly wailing and sharp, victorious laughter spills forth from the hole left in the wall as a myriad of ghosts and spirits erupt from the newly created exit. Characters with any type of spiritual sense will find themselves nearly overwhelmed by the amount of negative ghostly energy that suddenly floods Cerealia and characters with no sense of preservation will find any attempt to enter the hole blocked by the fiercest of ghosts, met with deadly force if they try to pass, as the ghosts won’t hesitate to do things such as reach straight into your body to try to stop your heart.

These ghosts are out for blood, and they don’t seem to stop no matter how you try to talk to them -- they just hiss out, over and over again, “Murderersmurderersmurderers.

From there, the ghosts move on. Their true target, after all, is CERES… but to them, there’s no difference between the character players and CERES. They’ll go for whoever gets in their way, phasing through walls and becoming tangible long enough to reach for characters before fading away again. Characters with special abilities will find themselves in a similar state. Their abilities may increase and decrease in power sporadically, or be completely gone. They may attempt to cast a spell only to find that the wrong spell is cast instead, or an attempt at healing may end up a more dangerous spell. Be careful with your own magical skills!

Those with items or powers specifically intended to ward off spirits will still fulfill their intended purposes when used – unless malicious spiritual energy gets to them first.

PHASE II

[ 14:00 ] It seems the ghosts have more tricks up their sleeves. It seems that a not-so-friendly ghost has decided to play a game with you. It doesn't matter where you are, or what you're doing, because a moment later a voice calls out -- Hey. Can you see me? -- and once you turn your head, you’ll come face to face with a surprise.

Who is it in this world (or your world, or any world) that you have managed to disappoint the most? A family member? A friend? Yourself? They face you now, eyes full of sadness, and they say, “I need you to do something for me.” Without another word, they’ll turn away and begin to walk. Your vision grows foggy, focused solely on the need to do whatever this person wants – they need you, after all. Your legs move to follow them, unless you manage to somehow resist.

But you apparently don’t seem to notice that you’re the only one who can see this person – or that they’re leading you stray toward that monorail track with the sound of the train coming closer, or that busy intersection, or right off the sky bridge.

PHASE III

[ 6:00 ] Other ghosts don’t feel like borrowing faces in order to inflict damage. No, they’ll inflict their damage on a far more personal level. They manifest suddenly and without warning – then all it takes is a simple touch. A ghostly hand reaches out to you and it feels like the cold wraps around your heart, and your vision skews, and then... they leave just as suddenly as they came.

Those who have been around for awhile may very well recognize the ghosts, at that.

But the damage has already been done. Depending on a character’s assigned sense, they will feel one of the following changes:

Sight: Hopefully you aren’t in the habit of bending the truth. Dead men tell no tales, they say. But what happens to a living person unable to tell lies? Any attempt at telling any lie or falsehood will cause the character to feel as though their throat has closed off, and they can do nothing more than choke.

Smell: The cold passes, but in some way that it never really leaves. And then everything seems perfectly normal. Nothing has changed, right? You're fine -- except that in a short period of time with how crazy things are, it becomes apparent that you're unable to feel pain. The damage to your body is the same as ever, but dangerously, you can't feel a thing.

Taste: It would appear as though the ghosts have a sense of humor. From those who rest in eternal slumber, try a few days of being unable to sleep. Everything seems fine at first... but slowly but surely, that lack of sleep will start to take its toll.

Hearing: Most others would feel relief once the ghosts left, finally a moment of peace. But you? You don’t feel anything – nothing kind, anyway. Rather, you have been left unable to feel joy. Everything seems either bleak or as though it simply has no emotional impact at all.

Touch: How many deaths have been caused in the name of heroics? Apparently in an attempt to keep future casualties down (or perhaps for their own laughter), the ghosts have left you unable to be brave. Suddenly, a situation you'd face fearlessly is one that has sent you running, panic sharp in your chest.

These effects will last throughout the event, if a character is caught by them.

PHASE IV

[ 10:00 ] While chaos erupts throughout the city, some of the more misguided ghosts (but still bloodthirsty, so very bloodthirsty) just happened to run into the wrong part of town and don’t know how to give a proper scaring. One ghost seems to think that it was a great idea to possess a masseusebot from the Spa. You’re grabbed suddenly! You fight for your life but can’t seem to get yourself out of its metal grip! With expert precision that only a robot can mange, it finds your pressure points – and releases all that tension from this Incredibly Bad Day. The ghost inside the robot is confused, distressed -- why is this human suddenly so relaxed? It only wants to murder. But the only illegal thing happening here is how good this massage makes you feel.

Maybe later you’ll walk down the street and get stopped by the ghost that possessed a balloon dispenser. Perhaps a ghost has possessed the friendly McCERES mascot, and is now handing out coupons with murderous intent. And of course, there are always the hug bots...

Look, they tried really hard, okay.

Of course... they might end up possessing technology a little closer to home as well, at which point it's not so funny.

BONUS

[ xx:xx ] Hopefully you have friends who have ghost-fighting skills. Or ghost-taming skills. Or ghost-bellydancing skills, who knows, we won't judge them if you don't. But what of those poor people who come from worlds where the supernatural is some weird television show?

Worry not, poor souls, for CERES is here to provide! Some time after the ruckus begins, characters will find what looks to be a hand-held vacuum cleaner situated innocuously in their rooms (only one per person, you greedy gus). The logo on the side will helpfully inform you that this is of CERES make, because the paper pamphlet beside your new device? Well, it's more like a picture book. Observe Stick-Man Sully as he uses his vacuum cleaner to capture ghosts! Learn from his stellar example! Do not stick the hose in your mouth or attempt to give the vacuum CPR, there's a big X over that picture. Also of the one where Stick-Man Sully sets his captive ghosts free once more, we don't want that, do we?

Your new ghost vacuum should prove effective against any ghastly ghoul that shoots your way, but beware! Should you capture a ghost and not turn in your vacuum to CERES for weekly ghost disposal, your ghost will serenade you in the wee hours of the morning with its song of choice. If you capture a whole horde of ghosts, well, congratulations. You have a boy band living in your vacuum.

Phase II; Can you die for me?

Aigis? [Her name leaves Minato's mouth before he can even make sense of what he's saying, well-aware that this isn't the first time he's seen some form of her in the city yet unable to resist calling out to her.

It's when she says she needs something that he realizes something's very wrong but then she's walking away and he steps forward with his hand reaching out, and it's only when his tired mind can process the encroaching fog cutting everything out that he thinks to hold himself back, teeth gritted as he attempts to stand still and stop himself from moving any further.

Minato's determination is remarkable in that regard, but the ghost's call wins out from time to time- even moving with a body that's resisting with all its might he's soon veering dangerously close to a busy intersection.

Worse still, he knows something bad is about to happen and he can only delay the inevitable. He might not mind dying as much as other people, but those who see him just ten steps away from being run over might here him saying something with his tone seeming to waver.]

Is this the end? I'm sorry...

Phase IV; Glad to see you not

[If there's something to be said about Minato it's that he always seems calm and collected even when the world's falling apart around him.

Today's no different, what with him having the massage of a lifetime from one of the possessed robots and sighing to himself when it does nothing for his throbbing headache. Still it's not like he's actively attempting to resist further actions by the robot and if he sees your character he'll beckon to them, sounding like he's really bored, sleepy and tired of everything.]

Do you want to have a massage? ...I don't care either way, but you might enjoy it more than I did. [???]

[It's not hard to hear the sound of metal splitting, especially in the train station; indeed, half the place goes rushing out to investigate what's up. Perhaps that was a mistake, considering there's a deep, yawning hole in the wall through which something is spilling. The screams are awful, but the sense of dread worse - enough to get the feet moving away without conscious intent.]

[When he blinks, there is wakfu there, but it's got an awful vibe to it - like something not alive, yet somehow alive. One has split off and taken sight of him, and it sends a sickening chill down his spine.]

What in the-- [Chibi leaps into a portal with murderers, murderers still in his ears - Goddess, has their being here attracted attention? Does it think, like everything else on this hell-planet, that they are CERES' agents? He tries a few words, but there is no reasoning with it; instead, it reaches for his chest, his neck. His arm goes to retaliate, and it passes through.]

[The ghost screams and disappears to the wind, but Chibi still feels it prickling his skin. He can only offer a helpless look and a shrug to the (horrified?) person closest, probably moving alongside him. not_this_shit_again.jpg]

one-b.
[Something is wrong, here, and Chibi realizes it when he tries to make a portal - it's like something in the stream's been stopped, or like his calculations are somehow off. He knows he should stop trying, if it keeps ending in near-death... But to an adult Eliatrope, portals are as much reflex as they are magic, and he can't seem to stop himself.]

[Maybe you're caught in the crosshairs of the wakfu beam hurtling your way - better get out of there before it singes you! Or maybe the portal misses its mark, and you're dumped straight through it, or your torso is left sticking through it. Maybe you half-fall through, like a subway grate's just opened beneath one of your feet. Either way, you'll find the culprit a few feet away: not the ghost, but Chibi, who is cursing aloud in Draconic.]

[That ghost there is still a threat...!]

four. sorry
[A man needs a drink, after all this damned mess - so into the pleasure district this middle-aged Eliatrope goes to retrieve a six-pack. Unfortunately, it's not only the hug-bots or the McCERES coupon bots that have been possessed; a slender android pops its head out of one of the nearby brothels, then comes at him, presumably trying to choke him out. Instead, it displays a lewd smile on its robotic face and starts reaching for him. Chibi, for his part, just freezes and looks puzzled.]

Er. Excuse me. [It starts trying to reach into Chibi's cloak. He gently guides its hand to his shoulder instead. It moves for the ties on his pants. He moves it again. If undisturbed, this will probably go on for several minutes. Help.]

bonus.
[Chibi's figured something out about this vacuum cleaner: if he secures it carefully to the top of his wakfu-motored pet roomba (adopted after the flood), it'll happily putter alongside him without him having to pilot it. The roomba, presumably happy to have a friend, is displaying a :D face on its display; the flower growing in it looks cheerful, as well. Chibi, presumably happy to have both hands free to deal with ghosts, is going about his day undisturbed.]

[If you're beside him in the residential district and a ghost approaches, he'll snatch it up quickly with the vaccuum; its roomba steed chirps at the sudden pressure differential on its back. He'll turn and cheerfully say:]
These things are actually quite handy, are they not? [Wonder what the catch is.]

wild-card.
[hit me with anything and I'll give it a spin! if you're close CR and want truth on something, this might be the time, or something.]

[Leon's not sure what to make of this sudden ghost invasion, but he knows he's not happy about it. He's not frightened of ghosts, and he can handle them when they show up, but this... this situation would leave anyone feeling tense, really. He's not pure-hearted enough to have been affected by the illness, but even he can feel the suffocating sort of negative atmosphere.

And then there's Stahn.

It's a ghost, of course, but Leon's unaware; he frowns when he sees Stahn there because they'd been separated, yes, but I need you to do something for me...

Leon doesn't really have the willpower to resist, not after everything that's been happening. It's almost as if in a daze that he follows, gaze focused on the masquerading ghost -- which seems to be leading him straight to one of those ponds in the park with those human-eating fish. To everyone else, it looks like he's being drawn there by nothing, but it's obvious something's not quite right... Now might be a good time to stop him (or let him get eaten, whatever, that's fine too).]

phase iv

[Everything was fine until the balloon bot. The robot was originally just meant to dispense balloons, but... well, the ghost possessing it has some newly murderous intent. Of course, there's not a lot you can do with balloons, but even so, the ghost got creative.

So it is that Leon's literally all tied up at the moment, balloon strings tangled around his arms and legs even as the ghost-possessed-robot tries to tug him back to wrap more strings around him (or maybe try to strangle him, who knows).

Leon's certainly not going down without a fight.]

Let go of me, you--!

[But admittedly, he looks ridiculous with all of those balloons attached to him and bobbing around harmlessly as he struggles.]

((OOC: Anyone who touches or is touched by Yuri has a chance, at the player's discretion!, for Yuri to access one or more memories (like either one memory or a montage of memories) because the event will be making her mitori powers go haywire. Just leave a link or a description of the memory Yuri sees, you don't have to ask if it's okay or anything, just go for it! Likewise, Yuri might transfer a memory back (just let me know if that's cool) and I'll do the same. As a general warning most of the memories Yuri could show have to do with suicide though!

Your character will be aware that Yuri's able to see the memory and they'll be re-witnessing the memory themselves so have fun with it!
))

[Phase I]

[it's a good thing she's used to this bullshit by now. For once she's dressed normally and not in her ridiculous shrine maiden get-up. Small miracles.

Still, she faces down the ghosts with a grim resignation, leveling her camera and holding her ground until the last possible second--at the height of a spirit's attack on her, she snaps the shutter and sends the ghost reeling. As it sinks to its feet, she hurries forward and-- sticks her hand right in the middle of it?? That's normal. She goes still, eyes narrowing in concentration, and then after a moment retreats.

The spirit disappears and Yuri looks don at her hand with a frown. That... wasn't what she was expecting to see when trying to access the spirit's memories, but she didn't expect to really learn all the answers just like that.

Would've been nice, though.

She heaves a sigh and lowers her hand, looking around for her next target or someone in need of help.
]

[Phase II: Warning for mentions of suicide]

[“I need you to do something for me.” ] Hi...soka? [Startled, Yuri doesn't even think to resist, following after what she thinks is the woman she knows so well from home.

It leads her to the edge of the sky bridge, where Yuri hesitates on the edge. This... This was familiar. Worryingly so.
] Ah, you're not Hisoka. Hisoka... saved me, the last time it was like this...

[But Yuri still hovers there, staring down at the ground below, then up across the skyline. She wavers, uncertain.] Should I...? [Anyone who grabs her has like a 50/50 chance of being subjected to this particular memory (to about 0:45) followed by another quick one; an older woman, her arms around Yuri's shoulders as she holds her back from the cliff.

If you want to die, I'll die with you, she says, her voice against Yuri's ear. You may think that you have no one, but that's not true. You're not alone. I'm here with you, so please, just stay with me. Even if it's just for a little while.

In the present Yuri flinches and squirms as the vision breaks, clearly uncomfortable
] Hey!

[Phase III]

[Yuri likes to think she has quick reflexes, but even she's caught off guard by the sudden ghostly appearance of the specter associated with 'touch.' It touches her and her knees buckle, making her drop in surprise, grasping for her camera...

But then it's gone and Yuri's left sitting on the sidewalk, bewildered.

[ PHASE I. ]

[ Well, it's a good thing Otome spent most of yesterday resting (unintentionally), because when all Hell breaks loose, she's definitely going outside to see what new disaster CERES has brought forth this time. And why it's making her feel worse. Why the sudden dread and the sense of being overwhelmed had come split seconds before that sound-- sounds.

It's fine, though. She's not about to keel over this time (probably), and that's why you'll find the good doctor fending off ghosts who are getting too close, either with a wind-like spell of her own, or with an ally at her side.

That ally may or may not go swooping perilously close to your head if you don't watch out, but if Otome spots this-- ]

Kazfiel, it's all right! Don't hurt them!

[ PHASE II. ]

[ She should have suspected something was wrong. And she does know that this isn't right, that the little girl in front of her couldn't possibly be Koharu. Because Koharu - "This way, Mommy!" - isn't her daughter. Not in the world she'd come from.

But all the same, her legs move before Otome fully realizes it, her own confusion and doubts mingling, and of course she has to follow Koharu.

... Closer and closer to the edge of the Sky Bridge, and her demon is trying to drag her back in alarm. Help a demon out? ]

[ PHASE IV. ]

[ Egads! A ghost has possessed the closest robot in its vicinity, and now, with someone in its sights, it's moving to strike and end this human's life while she takes a break and tries to catch her breath.

Except this ghost possessed a cute little robotic Hello Kitty rip-off, one that was passing out flowers to draw in customers to a florist shop. Now? Now it is viciously throwing tulips, daisies, and carnations at Otome, and they are falling gracefully to her feet, because one can't hurt flowers at killer speed unless they are Tuxedo Mask.

Otome, understandably, looks perplexed. Exhausted, but perplexed. ]

Thank you, that's... very sweet?

[ the sound of screeching metal is enough to wake steven up from sleep, with a careful poke ball in hand. beldum, being petrified of anything potentially dangerous in its young age, is absent from his side when he steps outside, instead nestled safely in its own ball. this wasn't the time for casual companionship - right now, steven means business.

he sends out skarmory first, in order to get some height and survey the area. from up above, he can see the gaping hole in the wall and the shadows spewing out of it. he's not sure what it is or what it could mean, but his intuition gives him a horrible, sinking feeling.

it's then they're attacked from the air - it's a sudden shove that almost pushes him off of skarmory's back, but they manage to stand their ground. it's then that they land, and the ghost that attacked them seems to follow. he catches wind of what they're whispering... "murderers"? what on earth could that mean? ]

...It seems that we have no choice. [ he takes a breath. ] Skarmory, Night Slash!

[ and so the battle begins. will you fight by his side, or stop him? ]

phase ii.

[ with the ghosts taken care of (for now), skarmory has been recalled. beldum is out once again in hopes to do its best to support its trainer, despite his warnings that it was too dangerous for the young steel-type. things finally seem to be relatively peaceful, until steven hears a voice.

"hey, over here!"

when he turns, a young girl seemingly stands before him. it takes him aback, and it doesn't occur to him that this could even be an illusion. that's definitely his successor, and she's here. ]

...May?

[ “I need your help. Come on!”

and so he follows, without a word. as his vision blurs to nothing but her, his memories of what happened back in hoenn begin to flood back into his conscience. he really had put too much on her shoulders... she was so young, and he had made her shoulder the burden of saving the world, twice. he hadn't been strong enough to take it on himself, even though it was his duty to protect hoenn. he could only support her back then, and he wouldn't let that happen again. if she needed him for something, he'd take full responsibility.

he doesn't notice it, but beldum is frantically pushing into his chest, trying to stop him from moving forward? why? well, the fact that he seems to be walking towards the monorail tracks in a zombie-like trance is probably a good indicator. an even greater one is the fact that the sound of an oncoming train is getting closer by the second. beldum is panicking now, chirping and squeaking out of fear and inability to stop its trainer. its telepathy and telekinesis are too weak to stop him physically, so its only chance is through getting someone else's attention to save him. if you're near, you'll see a creature float quickly towards you to get your attention, maybe flying behind you to push towards where it wants you to go. someone, anyone needs to help its trainer before it's too late. ]

phase iii.

[ it's a couple of days later, and now he's scared. it may not show outright on his expression, but those ghosts had gotten into his head and almost got him killed. he's trying his best to mask it under a stern demeanour, but a closer look will tell you that he's shaken up. he hasn't slept well at all, and it shows.

but staying cooped up in his apartment would be a cowardly act, especially if there are people who might need help. so he ventures out to get the necessities he needs, with cradily walking by his side for protection. she's on high alert for her trainer, having been briefed about the dangers of what's been going on. whether a ghost approaches him on its own or he's noticed that your character is under attack or needs help, he'll be springing into action without hesitation. ]

Cradily, Sludge Wave!

[ the sea lily obeys, but the attack seems to phase through the specter. instead, it bypasses the pokemon, flies over to steven, and tilts his chin up gently with one of its misty tendrils. once it makes contact it leaves without a trace, which would probably be a relief... except for the effect that it's hand on him.

instead of looking tired, his eyes have gone wide in utter terror. his hands move to cover his mouth, his breathing becoming laboured and panicked as he drops to his knees and hunches over. he's not screaming, no, but he looks absolutely petrified - an odd thing for him to be, especially after that previous act of bravery. left to his own devices, he'll be unable to do anything but breathe heavy in an attempt to regulate his panic. it feels as if that fear that he was repressing is manifesting itself in a pain in his chest, leaving him virtually incapacitated.

maybe that wouldn't be so much of a problem if there weren't more ghosts approaching, with cradily at a loss from having no orders to follow from her trainer. ]

PHASE II

[ It's like that movie, Inception— "you're waiting for a train", etc. etc. There's really nothing about Adolf that's anything like Leo DiCaprio in that role (except perhaps the fact that neither of them have any Oscars to their name, what a shame), save for the fact that it's the ghost of his wife that's leading him through sidestreets and winding over blurred pavement with a singular purpose: 'do this for me'.

It isn't bad, he thinks. The nausea that'd started ages ago is a lingering malaise, and it reminds him of when he was younger, of a decade of wanting to do what whales do. Sink somewhere out of sight. Slowly stop breathing.

The ghost of his wife— because it's a ghost, isn't it, if his world's really as gone as they say— turns on her heels and smiles at him, tips her head in that way he liked so much about her. He can feel the bile rising in his stomach, that sickness again.

He's going to throw up, Jesus.

"You don't have to come home anymore", she says. "So could you do this for me?"

It's a gesture towards the monorail tracks that greet him, and he doesn't feel strongly about it one way or the other; he loves her, doesn't he? And man, his head hurts.

So here's this infant of an adult, looking completely placid and neutral about stepping onto very dangerous territory and waiting, waiting for the train to get there.

At least he's not lying down, right. That'd be too cliche.
]

PHASE IV

[ Okay, man, that was melodramatic as shit, what even happened up there. Strike that off as "shit that Adolf will want to forget in 24 hours", and let's move on.

Here's Mr. Electric Eel at the local pharmacy, trying to find some headache medicine or something to keep his nausea down, because fuck, that's probably the reason for his Poor Life Decisions—

—except?? This drugstore is apparently haunted as fuck. The nearest bottle of hand sanitizer magically opens up somewhere behind him, and starts... floating towards him to make it rain sweet, sweet Purell on his head.

Apparently the aim here is to make him die of alcohol poisoning?? Does this ghost truly even know what it's doing, probably not.

But, covered in an avalanche of ethyl alcohol, Adolf blindly tries to swat whatever the fuck is attacking him away with one hand. He's never going to get the smell of hospital handwash out of his hair...
] Scheiße

[ language, eelkun. ]

BONUS

[ All of that tl;dr later, here's a prompt where your character will find Adolf fumbling with the shitty vacuum cleaner he found conveniently placed in his house. Try to help him figure this out? Bust some ghosts together? Need someone to suck up whatever weird ghost dude is hanging around you? Let's go, let's do this.

Phase I

[Ridiculous doesn't even begin to cover it. It's bothersome enough that suddenly the city now has to deal with a ghost problem, but other, equally irritating complications are cropping up too. It's not as though Fushimi expected to become a ghost hunter or something stupid like that and these aren't Strains, he's not stupid enough to treat them like it.

Still, a little basic self-preservation and common sense can't hurt, which is why he feels no hesitation in throwing a knife in the direction of a ghost that's wandering a little too close.Unfortunately, instead of a defensive blue aura surrounding the knife, a red one envelops it instead, which leads to the knife missing the ghost as it fades out of sight, but landing perfectly, blade first into a nearby wall.

Where it promptly explodes, leaving a nice sized hole and a bit of smoke. He stares at the chunk of wall, frowning at it like it's personally offended him. Accidents happen?]

Phase III

[Okay, so, dealing with ghosts is a thing now. Aside from the slightly murderous bent they seem to have, this might be... slightly manageable. He's not thrilled about the idea of holing himself up in his apartment and pretending like nothing is happening, so Fushimi finds himself out on the street, pointedly ignoring the ghosts as much as possible.

It's almost, possibly, working, until one decides to reach out and touch him. A disgustingly cold feeling and bit of wavering vision makes him feel sick for a moment, but seems to pass, leaving him apparently unharmed.

Come! Susano-o!!

[ He's being chased. They're getting closer. And right now, when he really needs some sort of defense to get him through this? Nothing. Sure, there's a flash, and there's that rising sensation that comes when this should be working, but... nothing happens. Susano-o does not appear. And this is the second time this has happened. ]

Damn, what the hell, why isn't-- Whoa!

[ He's cut off when a ghastly hand claws at his face from around the corner, but his reflexes are quick enough that he manages to leap back, out of reach. He stills. That the hand was there at all just means that in addition to the ghosts already behind him, well... now there are more in front of him. ]

Man... What gives with all of these...?

[ His voice shakes with uncertainty, but he can't let it stop him. He steels himself, and he tries one more time, calling out to his Persona with every single ounce of desperation in his heart. Just one magarudyne, please, maybe more later, but for right now, just one...!

And Susano-o appears! But the wind does not. Only a showering of healing energy. ... That Yosuke didn't need at the moment. ... And then he's gone. again. ]

Argh!! Are you serious?!

[ And all the while, those things keep gaining on him... ]

► Phase III
[ Things are pretty rough. Yosuke's realized that calling on Susano-o only has about a fifty-fifty shot of actually working out for him, and to top it all off, it's starting to look like nowhere is safe. He's determined to find his friends, acquaintances... anyone at all that he knows. He has to know they're safe, they're okay, they're weathering this with minimal damage... something. Anything.

But, to make matters worse, apparently some of them are showing up with no warning. And Yosuke's unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of that.

He all but screams as the thing materializes in front of him, reaches out and brushes the barest of touches over his shoulder. Before Yosuke can do anything about it, it's gone again, but the sensation of stabbing cold strikes through him, the corners of his vision start to blur and cross...

... Then, nothing. Yosuke is still, staring around him with a slightly glazed-over expression. He looks haunted. The thing may be gone, but as far as he's concerned, it doesn't matter. There's nothing to be done, nowhere to go. No hope. Nothing. And this downward spiral of thought just keeps dragging him down, until he can't even stand anymore, and he uselessly drops to his knees in the middle of the street.

What else do you do when you're sure there's no end to this? ]

► Phase IV
[ Oh my God this whole thing has been a rollercoaster already, what the hell else could possibly go wrong?!

... Funny Yosuke should be thinking along those lines, because like the cursed words those are, of course something else is going to go wrong.

Namely, a hugbot.

This poor little thing has gotten itself possessed and lost, and it's chasing down anyone it can find with this insatiable, murderous intention to hug the crap out of anyone!! And it's hot on Yosuke's trail. ]

Get the hell away from me!!!

[ He practically squeaks as he yells that over his shoulder. You'd think the thing wants to kill him... (maybe he thinks it really is gonna kill him. Or maybe he just hates hugs that much. spoilers: nah he just pretends he does) ]

Phase II: Stop! In the name of love! (This will have Sorey in it as well. Tag order will be you > Sorey > Mikleo)

[Most people will see Sorey running around like a madman trying to help anyone in trouble. Some will be able to perceive, or at least hear, Mikleo fighting at his side or keeping up with him. At one point, though, Sorey will shout, "Luzrov Rulay!" Those normal humans able to perceive Mikleo will hear the seraph shout those same words in perfect sync with him. Anyone unable to see the seraphim won't notice a change in Sorey, other than the fact that he can now control water and apparently is using an invisible bow that shoots magical blue light instead of arrows.

Those able to see and hear the seraphim will notice a radical change in Sorey. Not only has he physically changed, but his voice is now both his and Mikleo's overlapping each other. Sometimes, you'll even hear one or the other's voice separately, but Mikleo's voice won't be coming out of Sorey's mouth.

It's Mikleo who notices someone trying to step into speeding traffic or a monorail with a train incoming or any other dangerous situation like that.]

Sorey! Over there!

Phase III: The truth hurts.

[The water seraph has broken away from the rest of his friends for a moment. He's out searching for anyone in trouble, especially the friends he's made in the colony. Mikleo is putting a lot of trust in Edna, Alisha, and Lailah to keep Sorey safe in his absence. He promises himself it'll only be an hour of searching before rejoining them.

That's the plan until he's stopped by one of the ghosts. The hooded, tentacled thing reaches out and touches the seraph's hand. A wave of cold freezes him in place, though he stumbles as his vision skews weirdly. During that time, the ghost vanishes without a trace in search of its next victim. Mikleo puts a hand to his head and takes a moment to regain his composure.]

Okay...that's new.

[And terrifying, if his shaky voice is anything to go by.]

Phase IV: To tell the truth, though....

[Being choked every time he bends the truth even slightly? Awful. Trying to struggle out of the grip of one of those stupid hug bots or masseuse robots? Even worse. Granted, with how tense Mikleo is, he probably is in need of a really good massage, but this is too much.]

Would you leave me alone already?!

[HE DOESN'T WANT YOUR HUGS OR YOUR MASSAGES, ROBOTS!!!! Please, someone save him. Or the robots since he looks like he's about ready to drown them.]

Phase I

[He hasn't slept well in days from the combination of looking after his friends, doing research on their illnesses, and the noises from beyond the wall Korra had told him about. The nightmares started coming again in the later days, and he finds himself falling out of one as the wall caves through. The noise oddly reminds him of something he'd heard inside the tower but just different enough to not be afraid. Without a second thought he suits up and bolts from his apartment with Baymax to check what's going on.

And maybe he wishes he hadn't because he was not anticipating this.

So for parts of the morning others may find Hiro and Baymax flying and outracing ghosts that are just a little too pissed off to leave the teenager alone. The pair soar, dive and turn through the air. Sorry if they lead a ghost right to you.

Later, as the words catch up to him though someone may very well hear something he didn't quite meant to say.]

But I didn't murder him! [And he dives out of sight, Baymax and Hiro splitting apart and Hiro suddenly finds himself bolting. Various spirits seem more interested in him than Baymax, it seems.] Seriously, bug off! [How's he supposed to get out of this one?]

Phase II

[Trying to find Baymax is a whole other story. But it seems like he's found him because he hears his robotic best friend a moment later. Rattled by everything happening, he doesn't even think anything of Baymax's speech pattern and begins to follow. For all he knows, the robot's really picked up on his speech pattern and he's trying out new things. Hiro would follow Baymax anywhere though and he picks up his pace, calling out for the robot to stop but continuing to follow. He tries to stop when he realizes Baymax isn't listening and finds that he can't. That's okay. Maybe his magnets are acting up and pulling him in.

…no. No that's not it, will someone please grab him before he walks himself right off of the sky bridge? Someone thinks he can jump on the robot's back like usual and be just fine.]

Phase III

[Still no sign of Baymax. He's grown better at dodging the ghosts and running to help where he can, letting those with better skill to fend them off take care of things and using his big brain to keep himself alive. Things are fine until he rounds a corner and skids to a halt right in front of one of the ghosts. Before he can back away the ghost reaches out to him, chilled fingers barely grabbing his wrist before he stumbles back.

At first, it doesn't mean anything to him. It's fine. This is fine.

…a short while later though it's not fine. In fact, a short while later some of his friends might get a text.]

SOS. I can't do this. GET ME OUT OF HERE.

[For anyone else, you might wind up walking down the sidewalk and trip over someone's foot. Hiro's crammed himself into a corner in an alleyway, curled up into a ball with his CereVice in his lap. There's a yelp whenever somebody else touches him and he backs away further, looking up with wide eyes from inside his helmet. He relaxes slightly upon seeing it's not a ghost, but the tone's still slightly shaky.]

You weren't followed, were you?

Phase IV

[It takes a lot of coaxing before he can start patrolling the city again. He has to find Baymax either way. He can't just let his robot wander alone, after all.

Unfortunately, someone finds Baymax before Hiro can. It's hard to tell that a ghost has inhabited the robot's body, seeing how he's wandering around as usual. If you're not fast enough, you might find yourself being hugged (a little harder than usual) by a red armored robot. Or being picked up and carried off somewhere.

At some points, Baymax will chime in that something feels wrong even if he can't explain it. At some points, he might just fire his robot fist toward someone.]

Oh no.

[Sorry, everybody. Heads up!]

Bonus

[Okay you know what. At some point he's had enough of these ghost shenanigans. As much as he hates CERES and as much as he distrusts anything given to him by them, this can't be any worse than dealing with the ghosts on his own.

Still shaken and uneasy, he's out and around Cerealia with the ghost-vac in his hand, creeping around corners and checking crevices to capture these guys. Eventually he'll stop and weigh the device in his hand, turning to whoever's nearby.]

Phase 1-ish

[Even as far back as the Han Dynasty, the Taoist beliefs in hungry ghosts were pervasive and informed the base superstitions in their culture. Cao Pi is known among his people as a skeptic, though, neither Taoist nor Confucian and having no patience for superstitions. Not even brushing up against gods and demons has been able to turn him into a believer in ghosts.

But the cold feeling that ripples out after the breach is hard to ignore, as are the visible and sometimes tangible spirits now invading. Cao Pi trusts his eyes, so if he can see them, whatever they are they are real - as real as snake demons he's put his swords through. And from the looks of things, they are the very definition of hungry ghosts: spirits who can't rest, who resent the living, and will make things hell for the living if they can't be appeased.

Before he does anything embarrassing like attempt to build a shrine or set out offerings to appease them, though, Cao Pi would like to investigate. Armed and armored, he heads out onto the streets to see things for himself, whether the ghosts or the people affected by them. Any one of the five days of this chaos, he could be anywhere in the colony; saving people from walking in front of trains, falling victim to unstable powers, attempting to work out a solution, or hastily attempting some folk traditions to try to ward off hungry ghosts, like putting out food or burning incense.

What he doesn't know is that one of those chills was the touch of a ghost which will compel him to speak truth...

additionally, if she sees anyone or in trouble or in need of assistance as she tries to find the nearest source of shelter, she'll stop to help them. she can't do anything less.]

phase ii

[given that she's been on the lookout for people who could use a hand, she looks immediately when she hears the voice - then she freezes, completely unprepared for who it is. it's her sister. it's meryl, and she looks human and unchanged, a remnant from a time when everything was simpler. she parts her lips and draws in a breath in surprise, and of course, she follows. there's a voice inside her telling her to stop, that this must be a trick somehow, but... it's her sister. if there's even a chance it could really be her—

someone might want to stop her before she walks in front of that oncoming train.]

phase iii

[she tries to step away as soon as the spirit materializes in front of her, but of course she's too late. as soon as it touches her and she begins to feel that strange sensation, she closes her eyes and braces for the worst. after a few moments, though, she opens her eyes again, a bit surprised that she's well... or so she thinks.

she doesn't realize that she's affected in any way yet, but she does blink several times once she realizes the ghost is gone.]

Kristoph!

[ The yell echoes louder than it should, yet Kristoph doesn't turn around. He looks distraught to see the face of his jailed brother here, because that was the last thing he wanted to see here. ]

Kristoph wait! You haven't told me --

[ All his mind could focus on was the fact that Kristoph was walking away from him, without giving him any proper answers. Klavier reaches out but before he can even extend his arm, Kristoph is beyond his reach. He really didn't want to deal with this again, but he couldn't run away.

So he gave chase. But no matter how fast he walked, Kristoph was just beyond reach. Klavier didn't care, he just had to reach Kristoph and talk to him.

Unfortunately, Klavier's not noticing that he's actually walking along Cerealia's brightly lit and elevated sky bridges. This area of the bridge was normally cordoned off for repairs and it was with a dull awareness that he registered the sign, but he saw his brother walk through here! He had to be here.

He just about manages to remove the barricades, but he doesn't realise that what awaits him at the near end of the bridge was a steep fall. ]

[ Klavier, is of course the member of a boy band. Not just any boyband, but the lead of Law and Order. The ghosts have inflicted previously unknown horrors onto him. So instead of being put out, he's instead opted to drag his vacuum cleaner (because that's what it is, honestly) full of ghosts. There is no way that a bunch of ghosts are going to upstage him, so instead he's going to do a free performance. A guerrilla live! That's what you call them.

He's just going to drag the vacuum cleaner to the recreation district and start performing on the street corner in his flashiest and mostly purple leather. Why are those ghosts as loud as him and his microphone? Nobody knows. ]

♩♫ I'm doin' this tonight,
You're probably gonna start a fight.
I know this can't be right.
Hey baby come on, ♩♫

[ At least Klavier knew the lyrics to this song. He's gyrating his hips with a microphone in hand, small boom box with him pumping the backing track. The ghosts, happily fill in the rest of the vocal. ]

♩♫ I loved you endlessly,
When you weren't there for me.
So now it's time to leave and make it alone
I know that I can't take no more
It ain't no lie
I wanna see you out that door
Baby, bye, bye, bye... ♩♫

[ And it's just going on like this with Klavier and the ghosts alternating verses until the song finishes. Enjoy. ]

I

[It all starts out as a normal day for Larry. Groggily brushing his teeth over the bathroom sink, he's getting ready to pick up several Cybuddies that he has to petsit until evening. However, the ear-piercing screech of...something going on outside nearly makes him choke on his toothbrush! It goes clattering into the sink as he jerks it out of his mouth and staggers to his apartment door to figure out what the hell that was.

At first, Larry doesn't really notice anything wrong. He can't see the hole that the sound came from right away, nor can he sense the oncoming mass of spirits. He definitely sees people freaking out though...that's weird...

As he's trying to process his surroundings, that's when it hits him. Something rushes past with amazing speed, sending chantings of murder as it goes. It's followed by several more similar rushing shapes, and several more. Larry nearly falls over from shock, managing to grab onto his door handle for support. Okay, as much as he wants to just nope back inside, his experience with this place tells him it might not be that easy. So he turns to someone nearby who seems to actually be interacting with the murder wind.]

Hey! Heyyy! What the heck's goin' on here?!

II

[As terrifying as wandering around with ghosts around every corner is, Larry really does have his job to get to. He needs to keep it, it's the only way he's able to afford potential dates! So after cleaning up, he ventures out.

That was a mistake of course, because it doesn't take long for a particularly nasty ghost to prey on him. A mere couple blocks away from the residential district, he stops dead in his tracks when a voice calls out to him. Just hearing it sends a chill down his spine.

It's his own voice, and he's damn sure he didn't call out to himself.

But when he turns, Larry Butz is exactly who he sees. The likeness is incredible... Incredibly freaky, that is. It's like he's looking directly into a mirror that isn't there, only while Larry is extremely frightened by this turn of events, the other Larry seems on the verge of tears. The other Larry wants him to follow, and the worst part of all is he actually does end up following it, partially out of fear as to what it'll do if he doesn't, and partially out of morbid curiosity as to what the hell it is and why it looks so sad...

That was mistake #2, naturally. Eyes focused solely on the ghostly mirror image of himself, he doesn't notice that it's leading him straight toward a slight ledge that drops into oncoming traffic below.

Thiiis is a problem. Hopefully someone's nearby to notice this guy seemingly trying to walk himself to his doom.]

IV (post-III)

[You'd think after that horrifying fiasco, Larry would want to just go lock himself in his apartment for the rest of the day. And...you'd be right, that's exactly what he's planning to do now that he's managed to pick up the Cybuddies he's watching today.

However, the ghosts don't intend to make his trip home any less awful. First, a particularly creepy ghost decides to just pop out and touch him, nearly making him faint from fright. Then, it turns out not even the Cybuddies he's watching after are safe from the vengeful spirits. Said spirits dive right into the robotic animals and set their sights on Larry.

These two things combined lead to...well, for anyone passing by, it looks like Larry has been pinned down by two of the cutest Pomeranian Cybuddies as they aggressively and lovingly(...?) lick his face. Larry, meanwhile, is screaming in terror and is too paralyzed by fear to just...push them off of him.]

Phase III
[ He hadn't actually seen who it was he'd run into, but they had found him at what was probably the best possible time: when he very nearly walked right out in front of an oncoming monorail car. He didn't recall much about other than that they'd been wearing white robes -maybe some sort of shrine maiden?- but they'd reached out to grab at his arm, and it was like being slammed into the heart of Epyon's brand of ZERO system with no warning and no prior experience. That pause as he froze in his tracks for just a moment is what ended up saving his life, only to have him immediately back up in a panic, the little girl forgotten in favor of getting out of there.

As soon as he's put some space between himself and the monorail that nearly turned him into a hood ornament, he's left trying to puzzle out what just happened and wandering down a street in the shopping district. He's usually the quiet type and doesn't particularly go out of his way to initiate any sort of intentional physical contact, but the moment a robot dressed in a mascot costume to advertise a restaurant jumps out in front of him...

...he's screaming bloody murder and bolting, ducking into the first place that seems safe enough, wanting to get as far away as possible. After he stops feeling like his heart is going to explode in his chest, he'll peek out of hiding to pose a question to whoever happens to be nearby. ]

Is it safe now?

[ In fact, everything from the sudden sounds of explosions in action movies on tv screens and the street cleaning robots mistaken for mobile suits lying in wait, to transport vehicles rushing by and store mascots has him on edge and wanting nothing more to cower in a corner somewhere. So many little things easily distinguished from flashbacks of war now bleed together to where he can't separate them, and instead of telling what's real from what isn't, he's falling apart and running away.

Well, except for the mascots. Those things are scary enough on good days. ]

Phase IV
[ It was just a slightly possessed gumball dispenser that spit out its wares at everyone who passed by, not quite seeming to understand that gumballs are not lethal. Sitting near the entrance to one of the streets of the entertainment district, it was technically not a threat.

Was. Past tense.

Because now it's full of bullet holes from the clip emptied into it in a panicked frenzy when it made the mistake of launching them at a Gundam pilot who, thanks to an encounter with a white-robed ghost, was now pretty much afraid of his own shadow and carrying a weapon he had to be backed into a corner to even draw. But it had thrown something at him and while his first instinct was to get out of there, he'd backed up between a bench and a lamp post and freaked because he was trapped. Ten rounds later, he's tiptoing closer, wanting to check and see if it's safe now...

...only to have another gumball spat at him.

Throwing the gun at it (he'll regret that later when this is over and he either has to find where it went or buy a new one), he makes a frantic beeline for whoever looks like they could take on the evil machine, cowering behind them, face ashen, eyes wide. ]

You have to kill it!

Bonus
[ If there's somethin' strange in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call?

..........NOT HEERO!

Once he figured out how to make the ghost-sucking dust buster work, and actually managed to catch one (read: scream and flail without accidentally shutting the thing off and having to make a run for it because his hands were shaking too badly to get it to turn on again), things didn't seem quite so bad. It was like having some sort of magical talisman against an evil force, but not knowing how to use it - just having it was comfort enough. Finding someone who actually knew what they were doing so that he could follow them and hide while they took on the Big Bad Whatever would've been even better, but until that happens, he's got his own Mission Impossible thing going on, ducking behind things, lying in wait... and staying there until whatever has him panicking had passed.

By now, he knows it's unreasonable and silly, but he can't seem to muster up the courage to take on things that should've been so easy to tackle. Reflecting on his actions over the past few days -the shopping district, the gumball dispenser...- he's pretty sure CERES has it out for him, but doing anything about it requires a strength that right now, he's fresh out of.

And so anybody wandering through the gardens might spot him hiding behind a tree or fountain, dust buster in hand and trying his best to ward off... well, pretty much everything that seems threatening. Approach with caution lest he try to vacuum you up. ]

IV: do they make robots what are crazy?
[What happens when a tech savvy ghost tries to possess an antique automaton running a custom OS that hasn't been modified since the 80s? Short answer: nothing good.

The Spine has no warning. He's in full control, and then he isn't. Everything stops, the tall automaton going offline mid-shoo, his arm comically frozen halfway through flapping his fedora at a ghost. A moment passes in which absolutely nothing happens.

And then his photo-receptors brighten from their dull standby glow and he lumbers forward, jerking and twitching like a man possessed. Which is fitting, considering that he is. The ghost seems to be having a hard time steering the heavy robot, throwing him forward rather than walking, making him stumble like a drunk down the street. It doesn't have the hang of his voicebox, either, emitting static and half-formed syllables instead of the chilling chant--murderersmurderersmurderers--that it means to. Steam billows into the cool air.

The ghost pitches him down a side-street and forces out a frustrated yell. This machine is all cogs and gears, copper tubing and rubber hoses and wires. What good is it? What good is it? It lunges clumsily for the nearest warm body, silver fingers grasping like claws.

[ If she could die to save someone's life, why not? It was better than watching them die anyway. She had been feeling down and broken since a lot of things happened. She didn't have time to put herself back together and now this was starting to take a toll on her mind as she was quietly taking steps closer and closer to the monorail tracks. All the youthful mirth faded from his face as his expression grew more mournful and stoic. Lee balled his fists in determination as he stepped forward, no matter how much his illness was wearing on him. He focused his attention entirely on Neji and staggered to keep on following him. I am coming... Please wait, Neji...

Phase III (Phase IV-oriented enemies also welcome)

[One minute, Lee was determined to keep on going and to keep on fighting against every last ghost, to his last breath.

Everything changes in an instant, when one of the touchy ghosts manages to strike Lee. The young man staggers over for a moment, and when he gets up? That brave, defiant look in his eyes is gone.

He looks around him, and the sight of all of the ghosts wreaking havoc simply make him seize with fear. Lee cannot bring himself to move a single muscle, even to fight. All he can find himself doing is running, and hiding... sometimes beneath the blanket that he still happens to be wearing as a cape.

If someone he knows is in trouble... Will he be able to stir himself into action at all?]

[ PHASE I ]

[ Dipper is just about to leave the residential district on important delivery boy business when he hears that sound, and he doesn't have to guess where it came from. Something's happening at the wall, and like any well-adjusted paranormal investigator worth his salt would do, he pedals his bike towards it instead of away. It isn't long before he runs into them.

Ghosts? It was ghosts? Wow, he was way off.

But regardless of his theories being blown out of the water, these are ghosts. Sure, exceptionally creepy ghosts - definitely category ten - but they're ghosts. He knows ghosts. He's dealt with them before.

...Had he known he was going to run into ghosts, he also would have come more prepared. Once it becomes quickly clear that the ghosts aren't here to chat, but to harm, Dipper gets the hell out of dodge and goes careening away from the wall on his bike.

Unfortunately, he's got a few ghosts on his tail that he can't quite shake. Oops. ]

Must go faster, must go faster!

[ PHASE III ]

[ Even with his (ludicrous) ghost-sucking vacuum - ghosts aren't just whisps of vapor, especially these ones, this doesn't make any sense - Dipper can only fend off the ghosts for so long, and eventually, one catches him by the arm. He can feel the ghost touching his heart. Oh, god, he's done for. This is the end. At least he'll go out doing what he loves!

...Except the inevitable heart-stopping tug doesn't happen. The ghost simply leaves, but Dipper isn't dead - as far as he can tell, anyway. But as someone who's had a rather literal out-of-body experience? Yeah, he's pretty sure he's not dead.

Which means its time to get back to work, trapping ghosts and helping out wherever he can, be it friend or stranger. Does he seem more chatty than normal? Or maybe not more chatty, but a little more straightforward? ]

[ BONUS:a ]

[ Okay, so yeah, he's using this dumb vacuum thing. It basically ignores all the rules about ghost-capture that he knows, but these ghosts are terrorizing him and his friends and he can't let it go on like this.

For most of the time, Dipper can be found in full ghost-hunter get-up, including an EMF meter, a temperature reader, an EVP recorder and even an infrared light on top of his hat. And of course, that vacuum pack on his back. Feeling totally prepared to take on some ghosts, Dipper makes his way through the streets of Cerealia, banding together with anyone he comes across.

However, ever wary of possessions being a possible thing, Dipper will be quick to interrogate everyone he meets, even if they're fighting other ghosts alongside him. ]

Okay - don't take this personally, but I have to ask you something.

[ Aaaand ever wary of the fact that these ghosts are out for blood, periodically he will be sending messages out to his friends via the CereVice: ]

Checking in. Everything okay? Do you need help?

[ He manages to resist the use of codenames, but only just. ]

[ BONUS:b ]

[ Even ghost hunters need their rest, and Dipper finds an empty storefront to turn into a home base. With Rei's help, the store has been warded off, the area surrounded by blessed ropes with paper strips of kanji hanging from them to keep the ghosts away. It's not much, but there are at least some water and snacks and a safe place to sit for a minute while the spirits continue to terrorize the city.

Dipper will let anyone come in, but - ]

Okay, but you have to learn the secret handshake first.

[ He went without the codenames, but he's keeping secret handshakes. What of it? ]

[Phase I]

[The instant the ghosts had broken through and started attacking? Ami was quick to transform into Eternal Sailor Mercury. She had accepted long ago that she was a murderer. She had assisted in the death of monsters and alien life-forms alike. Yes, it had all been for the safety and protection of the Earth and its people, but a murderer nonetheless. She was nonplussed by their accusations and was instead working her way through the city to help whomever was being attacked. She skidded to a halt when she saw another ghost attacking a civilian, her visor and head-phone on and not letting the ghosts escape her sight. The Mercury Visor was working full speed to point out movements and shifts in energy.

What she lacked in the ability to sense the ghosts naturally, the Visor made up for with complete readings in heat-signatures and sound waves.

She summoned the Mercury Harp as the ghost loomed over the other CERES resident.
]

MERCURY AQUA RHAPSODY! [She ran her fingers along the strings and huge and powerful waves of music and water shot at the ghost, surrounding it and promptly destroying it in the onslaught of sound and water. She hurried over to the other on the ground and offered them a glove hand.]

Are you alright?

((OOC: Those who have regular CR with Ami won't actually be able to tell that Mercury and Ami are one and the same as they aren't EXACTLY the same person.))

[Phase II]

'Ami... Ami-chan... Ami-chan don't you want me to come home? Come follow me and I promise I'll come home. I just need you to do something for me is all. We can be a proper family again.' [Not Sailor Mercury, but Ami was shaking as she looked at the back of her father's head as he walked away from her.

No... No please, not again. Dad... dad don't leave them alone again... Don't leave her again. She'll do better. She will! She swallowed as hard as she could and didn't even notice as the water came around her ankles and then up to her knees. Further and further into the water, she just had to follow her father, was all. She shouldn't be surprised he wanted to go swimming, after all, he had taught her how. Deeper and deeper she went in, making no attempt to swim.

Phase I

[ Nanoha's been feeling awful the past three days or so, and this isn't helping. This definitely isn't helping. The pounding in her head has been replaced by a unceasing banshee's wail, the ghosts making their presence known to the mage in the most direct way possible. She's never met a ghost, didn't even really believe souls could linger after death without some serious ritual magic, but she knows what she's seeing. ]

Raising Heart, if you'd please? [ The gem hanging around her neck floats up to her lips, and she gives it a small kiss, starting what should have been her transformation sequence.

But less than a millisecond in, she knows something went wrong. Her magical power is always great, but she's never had trouble keeping it in check. Especially not for something as simple as putting on her Barrier Jacket. ]

GET DOWN!

[ That's the only warning she has for anyone in the vicinity when the surging mana in her body explodes outwards, a giant pink barrier rapidly growing forth and pushing everything inorganic away. Even the ground beneath her feet had to give way, a crater with Nanoha floating above it, desperately holding on to her Raising Heart which is shining like a miniature pink sun.

At least she's keeping the ghosts out and you in? Unless you're a robot, then whoops, hope you like being pinned to the ground. ]

Phase II

[ Nanoha's been through this song and dance before. Somebody pretends to be her lost family and tries to drag her into danger? Old hat. But it's not like you can just throw off magical hypnosis because you're used to it!

So she's caught for a while, following after the ghost with slow steps. However, she returns to her senses of her own volition... Just before a tram slams right into her side.

Poor tram.

Nanoha though, isn't exactly fine either, not having enough time to set up a proper barrier and relying only on her automatic defences means that she's lying on the ground, groaning in pain. This has been an abjectly awful day. ]

phase i:

[The initial fatigue from Ishikirimaru's sickness now registers as a nauseating wave as the spirits break free. So that was what caused the sudden weakening of the saniwa and the rest of the swords.

Well or not, he has his blade ready. Their malice needed to be cleansed if everyone was to be well again.]

phase iii (touch):

[Ghosts part at the blade of the holy sword. Thankfully, with faith meant that Ishikirimaru could have a decent fighting chance.

Though the exposure is gradually taking its toll, combined with his own less than ideal physical condition. In a moment of weakness a ghost takes its chance, and Ishikirimaru drops to his knee, panting heavily.]

PHASE I.
[ While Kon's spiritually aware, it's not to the point where he's honestly capable of being able to do anything about that niggling feeling at the back of his head every time he goes to the metro to explore the rest of the colony. Nothing he can do about that grating, annoying metallic grind.

Not much he can really do when the grind finally becomes a horrible screech of ripping metal.

He's out to get groceries to make something for the sick members of his giant household, when he gets slapped with a feeling much like the Ghost Road, an overwhelming spiritual presence that nearly knocks even him off his feet and sends a violent chill down his spine. The voices reach him soon after, and Kon bristles a little, staring off at where the energy and voices are coming from, slowly backing along before he just turns and books it towards where the many apartment buildings stand.
] If you break my eggs, I'm gonna be pissed!

[ #priorities, but honestly he's actually doing pretty good of staying the hell away from the ghosts, dodging quickly any time one comes near him. This is the second time he's gone running from malevolent spirits since he arrived in Cerealia - and the second time that he'll grab anyone that's just standing around or not moving fast enough, but his end goal is to get the hell back to swordhaus. ]

PHASE II.
[ Logically, he knows that he shouldn't be following the mustachioed man that calls to him. But logic doesn't really have much to do with anything, when you're being manipulated by spirits. They've got all kinds of tricks up their sleeves, and Kon knows this - knew it before he even dealt with Amatsuki, from reading up about folklore in his spare time.

But that doesn't mean that he breaks free right away.

For some reason that only the ghost knows, he winds up outside again, brow furrowed and frowning tightly as he follows after the familiar figure. There's no way he could be here, Kon tells himself, despite the fact that he keeps walking. But before he gets lured into the street, he stops at the edge of the sidewalk, covering his face with his hand and shaking his head.
] This isn't real. [ And fuck that horrible realization, even if it keeps him alive.

Whatever agility he had before when running is gone. Someone get him moving again before a ghost assaults him for real.
    ] Damnit.

BONUS.
[ Once CERES has issued the ghost-vacs, Kon can be found strolling around various locations - the apartment building he lives in and around the residential district in general, mostly - just doing his duty as a citizen of the colony. Now that he's actually armed, he's going to make sure that the ghosts are at the very least trapped in a vacuum cleaner so that they can't terrorize the people that he lives with or any of the newfound acquaintances/friends that he's made since his arrival.

Whether he turns them in to CERES or not is another question entirely, so he can definitely be heard whistling the boyband tune when he's not creeping along on his ghost hunt. He may or may not sound a little vindictively pleased while he's doing it, because if the ghosts and spirits and whatnot are the reason why his housemates have all been sick - they're at least the reason why so many of them are traumatized, now - then he's going to suck 'em up.
    ]

WILDCARD.
[ Want something else? Feel free to run into him just about anywhere! He'll be around, so if you literally want to run into him or are a friend/acquaintance/stranger that requires assistance somehow, or want to bail him out of trouble, he's available and will answer the call/get into assorted trouble himself. ]
